    "it was great and edinburgh is a beautiful city - Leith is a lovely place too. Dont listen to the people who tell you to getr a cab to the hotel from Waverly. Just walk it - its a nice walk (30 mins max)" (97893918)

    we stayed the night of the 2008 storm and the window didnt shut properly. The young manager spent 20 mins trying to close it and then promptly upgraded us to a suite - a perfect night was then had.

    the price - but then nobody likes paying 100s of pounds on a hotel room for a night !

    "The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, comfortable with everything you could hope to need - from CD player to iron - and the toiletries available in the room were more than I have ever seen in a hotel before - even a spray breath freshner called Snog me senseless. The location is great too - lots of bistro's and pubs nearby. Breakfast was not included but the food was freshly made and good. It is unique and I will be back." (99488577)

    "I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff at reception were extremely helpful, and genuinely wanted to help. Some of the best customer service I have experienced for a while!! I ordered room service after taking the recommendations of the staff and was pleasantly surprised how quickly it arrived and also the quality of the food." (97057644)

    A very well presented room with a luxurious feel. Also extremely comfortable!

    No view, but that would not stop me returning!

    "The service in the restaurant was very good and the food was excellent. It was a little pricey for a business travellor but i can imagine that for a special occation it would be a lovely end to the day. I went to the gym they have which only had a few pieces of equipment eg tread mill, cycle, free weights etc but it was clean and all in working order. My only complaint would be in trying to find the hotel. I drove past it a few times and ended up having to ring the hotel to get directions as the signage on the building is a small plack by the door." (99730914)

    "We had a problem with a window in our room in that it would not stay shut as the locking latches had been removed, under normal weather conditions this would not have been a problem but as there were very high winds that night the window would not stay shut and due to the wind the room was noisey. We told the hotel staff in the morning, they apologised and told us we should have contacted the Night Manager and he would have done something to secure the window." (99927829)

    "Generally it was a very good weekend break with lots to do in the area. Let down by the cleanliness and noise factor of the room. Sorry.........it is a real 'bug' of mine to find a room dusty where it is obvious the cleaner has not given a thorough job. And - no - I did not mention any of this to reception as, sadly, it is commonplace in hotels (except the Balmoral!)I am not sure if I would recommend the hotel as, for the price, one can do better. Amenities are lacking i.e. no spa, gym is small, no swimming pool, so I do not think it is real value for money." (3305224425)

    Excellent parking facilities. Check-in staff super. Room service very good and prices acceptable. Breakfast (continental) was one of the best we have had; very healthy and fresh. Coffee an absolute delight. Position of hotel very good, not that far from the city centre or Leith.

    Room was not as clean as it could have been; dusty around places such as light switches which indicates that the room is given a cursory dust. Room did not have an in-house booklet to show us what was available in the hotel - when requested, didn't materialise. Noisy next door neighbour! Their telly was very loud and the room did not absorb this; this was quite annoying. The room was certainly starting to show its' age. The 'quilt' was a bit soiled and looked like it should have been replaced a while ago.

    "It would probably be worth paying extra for an upgraded room as the standard rooms are nothing special for the price charged. The room we had was very comfortable, but nothing out of the ordinary - not what the Malmaison brand leads you to expect. Breakfast is not included in the price and at " (99299692)

    Great location. Public areas impressive. Very comfortable and welcoming - felt at home and no pressure.

    No biscuits in room! For price room was very ordinary.

    The room was lovely, nice and roomy complete with all you need for a stay. The cd player in the room was a good idea with cds available to loan from reception.

    Clean, tidy, good facilities, contemporary feel, good location, friendly and efficient staff.

    It was too warm and there was no facility to open the bedroom window wide enough for some fresh air.

    The co-ordinated stylish design ...and good quality fittings.Very good size and bright with 2 windows

    As bed near the door, there was a bit of disturbance if someone noisy came along the corridor!

    large spacious room, tastefull decor

    rooms desperatly need aircondition. fan supplied inadequate, corridors rooms lifts uncomfortably hot, main reception bars and retsaurants had air con.

    Great location, Parking next to Hotel, Good bar and great food.

    It was a beautiful hot day which is not often seen in Scotland but I did feel the room was far to hot and the small fan that was in the room was inadquate. I would use thew hotel again but perhaps not in the high temperatures.

    Location - away from the busy city centre but only a 5 minute taxi ride.

    "I had to cancel at short notice. Your staff could not have been more helpful. Therefore I will be staying with you again I hope. You always seem to go that extra bit, and as a business traveller that is what makes all the difference.     "i found the web site very informative whilst making my booking and very straight forward . on our arrival the staff were very helpful and pleasent .The hotel was very clean with extremely nice surroundings , we also ate in the bistro the night of our stay the food,wine, and staff were great !!!
