    Well sited for visiting the city, exterior noise levels were not obtrusive.

    Our room was situated over reception and the 'background' music from there was a bit intrusive at times.

    "We wanted to be in Clifton to celebrate a birthday with family, although the room was poor the hotel did put us in the location we needed, it was also nice to be able to have family use the bar and coffee lounge in the morning, if we could guarantee a nicer room we would definately use the hotel again."     Thq hotel had a really nice feel to its communal areas, the staff were really polite. The bar downstairs was interesting and the drinks were all reasonably priced.The bedding and towels were clean.

    The room that we stayed in (Rm 46) was really shabby, the furniture was poor quality and condition, bashed and worn edges to the dressing table etc, no heating in the bedroom or bathroom, really dirty extractor fan in the bathroom

    Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel is excellently positioned for the town centre.

    Carpark was rather awkward to move in, and I would expect a degree of security/responsibility on the part of the hotel after paying over £6 for a night's parking.

    "I had a good two nights at the clifton slept well ,set on a quite road ,rooms a little small but very well equipt including stereo. would recomend this hotel close to university and st michaels hospital.and the city." (108565175)

    Young hotel room small but everthing was in the room I needed breakfast excellent and fresh. Rooms very clean beds very good staff helpful carparking A1

    TV dated no sky or freeview only sky sports not as advertised. WIFI £2.50 per hour expensive so not used

    Mistake with checking in led to a misunderstanding about date of checking out; standard of decor not the best.

    Easy walking distance to the Centre of Town

    I had to inform the staff on arrival 30th June that the toilet was fractured!

    I liked my room with the big window and the television got a great picture. The hotel cafe was great and the basement restaurant was good. The location was good and central for most places in town.

    The shower was so tiny that if you dropped the soap you had to open the door to pick it up again. I did have to open the door in order to shave my legs. It was pretty noise.

    "It was OK, but the car parking was not very well lit and together with the extra cost for parking and then extra for breakfast, it turned out not to be such good value for money. The room was cramped for a twin and the ensuite just had enough room to have a shower if you squeezed past the door." (107657030)

    Friendly staff

    Room was directly above the outside drinking/eating area and was extremely noisy. To keep out the noise we had to have the window closed, which made the room extremely hot and stuffy.

    Provision of fruit bowl and cafetiere in room. Friendly helpful staff

    Smallest room I have ever seen. The end of the bed and the desk were so close together that it was very difficult to sit at the desk, and I am relatively slim!

    The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly & helpful

    The walls between the rooms were quite thin and so it was quite a noisy hotel to stay in. In our room there were things that didn't work that well, e.g radio and TV kept losing sound.

    The food @ breakfast & evening meal was excellent.

    Someone should have pointed out that it was cheaper to have a bottle of the wine rather than 3 glasses. I thought I was going to the hotel at the clifton bridge, where I have stayed before. I was not aware that you had 4 hotels. At 66 going on the computer is not as easy as it is for the younger generation. But we are trying.

    "Good value for money" (107556040)

    Efficient, friendly reception staff- both in person and over the phone when I needed to make an adjustment to my booking. They had my room ready early, even though I didnt request it, as I'd mentioned on the phone while making the adjustment that I was going to a rugby match. Very good service

    Shower was really only good for those of 4ft or shorter!

    Hotel had everything we needed for an overnight stay. We enjoyed the coffee shop. We were very grateful for the parking provided.

    A good hotel, some excellent touches - fresh fruit in the room, fresh ground coffee, loose tea etc. A warm welcome from the staff and conveniently situated.

    The bathroom let the accommodation down, a very basic shower room with very dated decor. Parking is also difficult - we paid to use the secure hotel car park which has limited space.

    Very convenient location.

    No hot water in bathroom so was unable to shower. Complained to receptiom and was informed that there was no duty manager available. Was also informed that this 'often happens at weekends'.

    "Great! I would have no hesitation in booking again or recommending this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent for Clifton or the centre of Bristol and close to bus routes (although you need a clear head to make sense of the 8/9 routes!)" (107112399)

    Refreshment facilities in the room were impressive - particularly the bowl of fresh fruit and cafetiere with leaf tea and ground coffee. Very comfortable bed. Manually opening windows meant good access to fresh air! No problem about leaving a case and bag for later collection on day of check-out.

    Check in and out were a little slow - only one person and a small queue. Fortunately I was not in a hurry! The bill was about 10% more than the rate quoted on my email confirmation, but was willingly adjusted to match my email quote although this took quite a while. Main entrance not easily accessible for travellers with heavy cases or buggy/wheelchair users!

    "Checked out the next morning and was told that we were supposed to give 24hrs notice but he would wave it as we had a difficult check in.We were in the lobby using our laptop to find alternate accommodation and overheard people arriving with reservation and being sent to another hotel."     The young man who checked us in was very nice but it clearly was not a hotel for older people. The noise teminated at midnight.

    No Parking. Very loud party vibrating through our floor. Someone else's clothing stewn all over my son and daughter's twin room neccesitating a room change. Loud young men all over reception when we were trying to check in. After commenting on same was given a room away from the noise?
