    Hotel is modern and close to the City Cenre, it is clean and I found the staff freindly, The breakfast is very good.

    The only down side is car parking there does not seem enough around the Hotel, there is a local coucil car park but this is also busy since I think since the travel lodge has opened across the road

    Mostly very efficient and friendly staff, room very nice, minimalist syle. Very clean.

    One member of staff at breakfast time the first morning of our stay was rude and unpleasant

    clean tidy

    Extremely noisey inside and out! We didn't get any sleep at all, unacceptable! I suggest you state on your website that you accommodate youths and you are located next to a night club! I have stayed in far far better hotels for half the price. I certainly will not be returning or recommending your hotel to anyone!

    "Staff were pleasant, welcoming and efficient despite checking in a coach load of guests when I arrived. Rooms clean and spacious. Good breakfast with buffet servery. Dinner menu not very exciting but there are scores of bars and restaurants within a short walk." (108467984)

    Easy to find, helpful staff, wi-fi, convenient for city centre.

    Daytime parking is expensive - a criticism of York rather than Hotel 53.

    Hotel was clean, and the food was good

    The layout of the room we had meant that you had to move the furniture to make hot drink, the mirror has been placed in the corner so it cannot be used as a dress mirror.The room was noisy, with sounds being heard from 6.30am onwards.The door handle on the interconnecting room was loose.The lift is slow and no indication whether it is coming, going up/down.

    The hotel is excellent the staff were very helpful and it's in an ideal location for the city centre

    Car Parking is in short supply and the car park near the hotel is very expensive

    Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, close to all attractions and amenities, good standard of cleanliness and a great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast.

    Late check in time (2.30) although we were fortunate that our room was ready when we arrived at 12.30 pm.

    Lack of storage space, Only one power socket for entire room [Though there are lot of room to have more sockets for instance near the switch in the bed], Noicy due to extractor fan in the kitchen

    Hotel in city centre, short walk to shops, restaurants, bars. Room very clean and comfortable, good value for money.

    For longer stays there is little space for clothes if you like to unpack.

    All the staff were very friendly, helpfull, and polite

    Havent really got any bad points, just thought the cost of one night stay was expensive and no breakfast included.

    excellent booking and very good receptionist who was very helpful. Room service was good and very punctual

    I had to ask to move rooms because of the noise from outside, the window was brken and would not close, i asked to move rooms and i was moved to the back of the hotel where i could hear the Airconditioning fans from across the street and people shouting outside, i think that all the windows in the hotel are very low quality and do nto provide adequate sound proofing. I could here exactly what people were talking about as i was trying to sleep for a very important meeting! i got about 4 hours sleep! I will not staying another hotel of your establishmentand neither will any off my staff and we travel around the country a lot!

    Really helpful and pleasant staff. good location

    We found our shower had no hot water, we reported this to a member of staff who said he would look into it, he did not do this and so the shower was still faulty in the morning. When we reported this in the morning the staff member who attended to our problem was most helpful.

    Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was good.

    Bed was tiny...we are both over 6 ft tall and in every other hotel we've had a bigger bed than that...also a lot of road noise which could have been cut down by thick curtains or better windows. Room just felt a bit like a travel lodge room to be honest and at £79 per night thats more than a travel lodge

    Comfortable bed & good bathroom facilities. On our way out for the evening we asked at Reception if we could have extra sachets of coffee delivered to our room and these were there when we got back later that night. Friendly staff, great service.

    There was evidence of a few hairs from previous guests in the shower which was a little disconcerting. TV could do with an upgrade to a falt screen.

    Beautiful hotel with very helpful friendly staff. Ecellent food.

    Very noisy location, public house accross rd, early morning deliveries to this hotel and travelodge over the road means any sleep before midnight or after 6.30 am is impossible.

    Good food, helpful staff, clean & modern accomodations, excellent location for viewing & walking about city sites

    Found room very hot at night even with aid of fan & open window. and soap dish & toilet brush would not go amiss, also food & drink a bit pricy

    "See above comments. Hotel should state clearly that parking is extra at time of booking. This would also help on arrival,as we had to wait on busy main road while we sorted out parking. Staff were reasonably efficient,but rather offhand and no one offered any information-though if you asked you got a reasonable response. That aside,the hotel is clean and well decorated and is in a great location for strolling into York city centre" (97937570)

    All public rooms and bedrooms clean and well furnished.Good choice at breakfast,efficient service. Convenient location for city centre and for routes out of York

    Extra fee for car parking-not mentioned when booking online. Our room looked out onto brick wall and the bed was too soft-foam mattress? Reception staff polite but could have been more helpful.Bar prices expensive,even by hotel standards!

    Modern, clean and central to the shopping centre.

    Breakfast was a little over priced at nearly £10 each and the hotel had no car park. Instead, we had to park over the road for £10 per night but even then, there were limited, tight spaces.
