    "we usualy stay room and breakfast, but being in the annex, we did not care to cross over the road for breakfast. so stay was room only." (108554274)

    overall good all round. the staff where excellent

    The first room we was given, was windowless and my wife suffers from Claustrophobia,we was moved to another room. The hotel was chosen as picture on the internet shown the hotel was not a tall building. my wife can't travel in lifts and will always use the stairs. There was no Indication, that we were going to be in a annex to main hotel on booking. Working order of facilities / equipment TV was locked to one channel and no sound. (maybe guest thinking "what fun" this was fixed. The kettle had failed a safety test, and was still in the room. we rarely use the tea & coffee in the rooms so not a problem for us. The kettel was replaced.

    Hotel with history. great breakfast

    Tatty bathroom fittings -cracked and broken tiles, loose toilet seat, shower difficult to operate. Bathrooms really need a complete re-fit

    The staff at the Imperial Crown were absolutely lovely - very friendly and helpful. Food was good and plentiful.

    Little bit shabby and past it's best - bathrooms could do with being updated ... however ... for the price it was fine and certainly clean.

    "Not a pleasant one - kept awake by noisy rabble outside around 3am guests arriving and departing was loud - just footsteps not by shouting I found the bathroom to be much too small for my liking - the door touched the sink when open and couldnt get to the shower without squeezing past the door" (107775258)

    Poor sound insulation - kept awake by noise from outside and other guests bed linen not clean bathroom much too small for one never mind two Noisy bathroom fan that kept working for a long time after bathroom used

    comfortable bed and late checkout and helpful and friendly staff

    room smelt stale and decor was outdated mainly in bathroom and floor was uneven. The hair dryer was as useful as a chocloate mantle peice i could of asked my fella to blow it dry quicker , so glad i bought my own.

    Very convenient from the station and for town centre, quiet room and pleasant atmosphere, signs of some recent renovation. Does food though we didn't try it.

    Door between our bathroom and room didn't close properly.

    "Hotel looks very tired. Needs a complete refurbishment. There is no control over the parking facilities I saw people park who then went off shopping. Was not asked for Registration number at all so how can you keep a car park that is not locked soley for hotel customers." (108092547)

    Receptionist on Check out very friendly and helpful

    Receptionist on checking in did not smile greet you or attempt conversation. Gave the impression that you were a nusiance especially when we mentioned that there was no space in the car park. Not very helpful at all.

    "I would recommend the hotel for convienience and cost, however, had i had more notice of the event i was attending, I would rather have spent more and recieved better quality.......having said all that the staff were some of the most pleasant I have encountered from several hotel stays" (97401356)

    "stayed in room 116 and the bed had a large spring coming through the mattress at the bottom of the bed, the shower screen was not fixed correctly and allowed water to spray over the floor making very slippy, and on return to the hotel had to wait 20 mins for the night porter to answer the door. Also would have prefered more secure parking just for peice of mind." (97881460)

    "Overall, we enjoyed our stay, albeit brief. Although the room itself was small, the bathroom was clean as were the bed linen and towels. With regards to this customer feedback survey, I think it is great that you are trying to maintain/improve your service, having stayed at a number of hotels over the years, a very large percentage of them could really of learned alot from something like this - well done. Finally, some constructive criticism, in order to make the rooms feel bigger maybe you could change the colour scheme to something lighter as the furnishings in the room were quite dark making the room feel smaller."     Convenient and easy to find. Parking wasn't an issue as we stayed at the weekend.Reception staff were very friendly.

    The curtains were too thin and let the light in, this would of woke us very early had we not put the bed cover over the window to block out the light. In my opinion, curtains with black out lining is a must.

    "good sized rooms if a litle dated. quite a quaint feel to the hotel overall which was welcoming. bathrooms could do with some updating but fully functional. night porter was available all through the night but saw the opportunity to charge us money (which he pocketed) when our friend stayed in one of the spare beds we had already paid for (we trarvelled in a group of 3 so had to book 2 rooms) instead of getting a taxi home alone. overall really good place and despite what i have just said would defo stay there again."     excellent location! rooms were good size and the lady on reception was fabulous.

    bit of a pain that the car park was over the busy main rd.

    "Excellent friendly and efficient staff. The bar area and restaurant are lovely. Our room was slightly in need of updating, but I was looking for basic, clean and value for money accommodation - which I definitely got.
