    "the rooms were pretty rundown & needed freshening up with paint or new drapes & comforters & carpet." (99563757)

    the clerks were friendly enough, but gave us the wrong directions when we wanted to visit the poulnabrone dolman. it cost us valuable travel time. the directions to find your hotel were terrible from n18! there are 3 exits for ennis!

    Extra bed.. size of room .. good power shower

    The room smelt of smoke, even though I requested a non-smoking room.

    "The hoyel was adequate, pretty much what I expected, however it had no wow factors and it certainly didn't give me any reason to return." (3305266393)

    It's fantastic to have wireless broadband in the room, as a business customer it makes all the difference.

    I was dissappointed to discover there was no room service available.

    "The only negative thing I could say was I ordered a sandwich from room service and it wasnt great, otherwise all the staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful really enjoyed the stay" (3304931735)

    The room was very clean and the welcome on arrival was exceptional

    The hotel was being refurbished so this probably affected general decor

    The rooms had been refurbished since our last visit and were very comfortable

    "THE SERVICES I RECEIVED DID NOT SPOIL MY VISIT TO ENNIS ..I WOULD BOOK INTO THIS HOTEL AGAIN BECAUSE ITS LOCATION IN TOWN IS GOOD FOR ME ...AND ALSO TO SEE HAVE ANY IMPROVEMENTS TAKEN PLACE..AS A BUSINESSMAN I WAS THERE ON A LEISURE TRIP ....I CATER FOR THE PUBLIC AND I COULD NOT OFFER ANY ONE FACILITIES AS POOR AS THESE ...AS A BUILDER AND DESIGNER OF HOMES I KNOW WHAT IS REQUIRED TO MAKE PEOPLE COMFORTABLE ...I HOPE THESE FEW BRIEF COMMENTS HELP TO MAKE YOUR REFURBISHMENT TASK EASIER AND MY NEXT VISIT MORE COMFORTABLE ...P.S.     THE ROOM HAD A DAMP FUSTY ODOUR ..THE CARPET WAS FRAYED AND TATTY..THE SHOWER CUBICLE IN THE ENSUITE ..ONLY MEASURED LESS THAN 600X600MM...NOT NEARLY ADEQUATE FOR EVEN A CHILD NEVER MIND AN ADULT ..THE TOILET SEAT WAS CATCHING ON THE WORKTOP THERE WERE PIECES MISSING FROM THE WORKTOP I HAD TO SQUEEZE INTO THE SHOWER CUBICLE ... THERE WERE SO MANY THINGS WRONG WITH THIS ROOM ..IT WOULD TAKE TO LONG TO LIST THEM ...AND IT ALL STEMS FROM THE FACT THAT TOO MANY THINGS HAVE BEEN CRAMMED INTO TOO SMALL A SPACE ..

    PRACTICALLY ALL AREAS OF THIS HOTEL NEED IMPROVING EXCEPT THE COFFEE

    Near Airport,good food, good entertainment.

    Our room was so hot that my wife hardly slept. We could not adjust the heating. When my wife asked for assistance in regulating the heating or the provision of a fan neither was forthcoming.

    The Staff was EXCELLENT! We arrived earlier than our estimated time and your staff made sure that we had a room promptly.

    Loved the Bar, however, there was no music.

    "The hotel is on the main road in and out of Ennis, which is handy for getting about. Do hire a car and get out and about. We took the coast road from Ballyvaughn down passed the Cliffs of Moher, Spainish Point and back to Ennis. What a drive, it was great. Stop off in Doolin at the Stone Cutters Kitchen for lunch. Fab home cooking, you wont be disappointed. All in all we had a fab 3 days in Ireland for the first time. Next time we shall book a guest house. As this was not our main holiday this year we didnt make a fuss or complain, but I would have been rather upset if I had booked for a week. Sorry I can not comment on the food at the West County as we never stayed for dinner. The breakfast was ok though. The West County is not a bad hotel if only they updated their bedrooms, thats the only thing that lets them down. Apart from that its good base for a few days while travelling around." (2643962)

    The public areas of the hotel were good, but the rooms were dated and and the bathrooms needed a good scrub. We also had a damp smell on the third floor.

    The bedrooms really do need doing up, it may just be me as my standards are very high. The sheets were clean, but the pillows were rock hard. We were also told not to drink or even clean your teeth with the water. This was a widespread thing in Ennis.

    There was a problem in Ennis with the drinking water and I felt the hotel could have provided some drinking water (bottled) in the rooms for guests to alleviate the problem.

    Basic but comfortable

    Breakfast was often cold, eggs often solid. Sundays breakfast was best, even found a runny yoke!!!!
