    "The menu needs attention, as do the eating areas, staff generally very good, room fair but I was in room 126 as I am disabled and the toilet is not easily accessible for people with limitted mobility, reasonably disabled friendly" (108289173)

    Check in staff were friendly,helpful and polite, Cooked Breakfast was good

    Cleanliness of bar/restaraunt poor, poor food menu, not able to get coffee with dinner due to an event in hotel night before???, tables were dirty at dinner and no staff to clean them, only one staff member doing meals, bar, cleaning & tidying up etc, very poor reception on tv in bedroom

    Hotel restaurant was closed. As the hotel is not conveniently located near any restaurants, the only food that was available was at the bar.

    Reception staff were pleasant and efficient. Room decorated nicely. Very handy location for Edgbaston, which was our destination.

    Breakfast room unusable - the few unoccupied tables had used plates etc on them, there was no cutlery and no bowls ready for use, and when asked, the staff did not bring bowls for quite some time and then brought no spoons. Used plates etc. left on serving tables mixed up with fresh food - quite frankly the worst hotel breakfast room I have ever seen. I suspect that there are just not enough staff to clear and re-stock a breakfast room catering to such a large number of people, but honestly it felt unhygenic and I wouldn't have wanted to eat in there, even if the utensils had been available. Also, the hotel was very noisy at night with guests singing in corridors into early hours of the morning. Again, I know there was a wedding party staying, but this really didn't help the other guests who are trying to sleep.

    "Good value and would stay again.All the Bad points were not that bad. The bed and pillows were very soft and lovely to sleep on. " (108588629)

    Overall the room was good value. The extra channels on th TV was a supise.

    The docor on the floor we stayed on was very tatty. The window rattled a little and the boiler was very load.

    Clean, warm and comfort

    Cold plate for breakfast hot meal, I asked for hot plate for hot meal, as cold plate cool the food too quickly and then it is not enjoyable. I asked for this before and they said they will put this in place, a year later it is still not done.

    "A friendly place with lovely staff,we felt safe in our rooms and thought it was good value for money for the two nights." (107477768)

    Lovely foyer and lounger area.Bedding and towels were excellent,and the staff were extremely polite and efficient.The tea/coffee making facilities were very good as was the TV!

    The carpet in the room was very stained,the windows were very draughty and one of the window pains was cracked.The bathroom was a bit dirty in places and the soap tray in the shower cubicle was hanging off,also the toilet roll dispenser kept falling open whenever we used it!

    its a fantastic hotel...great great value....just dont read into other bad reviews....maybe they wer right but the hotel has been renovated and that too beutifully....

    its near to centre (digbeth area) but from digbeth to hotel the 10-15 min walk is really scary. the area is really really quite (gud for those who want sound sleep)....so if planning a late night out then add 8 pounds for taxi fare to your budget..

    Bed not comfortable, wires (?)too close to surface of mattess; no Radio 4, I do not want a TV but would appreciate a radio; breakfast not up to standard of previous visit - no black pudding, toast cleared away too quickly, tea from a machine out of site, had to ask staff

    Clean room, good decor, linen good quality, flat screen modern TV, free onstreet parking but at own risk. I did not had any meals or drinks in the hotel so can't comment on food or bar.

    Beautiful building. Good location, from my point of view.

    Paid for luxury twin, got standard twin, billed for luxury. Didn't myself notice, until my company told me late in the night, showing photos of both. I really didn't mind, but paid 20 quid extra for nothing. And there was only decaf coffee in the room, which actually was the case two years ago, too. That time a nice cleaning person fixed it, this time none were around. But these are really minor points in the overall picture.

    The staff were great, the food was excellent and the main public area's of the hotel were good.

    My room was very old and worn, in great need of updating and decoration. The worst bit was the bathroom, there was mould on the inbetween the tiles and the shower curtain had the most overpowering smell. I was almost sick with the smell of it. The noise from other guest's terrible, I was woken up 3 nights out of the 4 nights stay.

    The entrance of the hotel was in good condition, ok.

    Put in a room on ground level, hence had to tolerate the street noise, when there was obviously many rooms vacant in the hotel

    Clean room and bed, great bar food and friendly staff throughout the hotel. Free parking is available on street (keep valuables out of the car), location easy to find. Wifi worked in my room too!

    Uncomfortable bed and pillows - stayed two nights previous and bed was excellent. Rooms and corridors tired - perhaps refurb in the plans would entice more good reviews.

    The staff were very friendly and we were made to feel welcome.

    I thought the decor of the room and hallways were very old fashioned and dark. our walls were a dark brown...I thought it was a bit depressing. Although the room was clean and tidy the bed was very uncomfortable and the springs dug in me, I didnt sleep well at all as of the bed, the drafty old windows which let in the noise outside (Bin truck at 4.40am!)

    Excellent price and a clean and friendly reception and lobby area. Looks like thay have started refurbishment from the ground up. Free WiFi worked in my room as well as the public areas - very comfy bed and pillows!!When I checked in I asked for a double room - I had booked a single - they were kind enough to hold the rate! Resteraunt was closed due to low residency but the bar food was great and a friendly barmen too!

    Cracks on the walls in the bedroom, no water for the iron in the ironing room. Corridors had wrinkled carpets and bedrooms could all do with refurbishment.

    we attended a xmas banquet and the food was fantastic.

    Room was in need of decoration and smelt musty, hot tap didn't work, mould and mildew in the shower, corridors were in need of decoration and smelt stale.
