    Excellent service from staff

    1. Showers did not work well. 2. Although I asked for a quiet room, only on the last night did I have a room at the back of the hotel. The other nights I had a room facing the street, with a bit of traffic noise.

    Clean and comfortable for a 1 night stay, particularly as I had en-suite. Simple Continental breakfast, with staff on hand to make toast for you.

    sadly, as is the case in many hotels, the TV remote did not work and showed signs of repeated repair with tape and glue. (room 20). but this is a minor problem.

    Great exterior; great location; peaceful at night despite planes; nice little cosy room; felt safe. Adequate, simple, contintental breakfast

    Surly, unwelcoming dark-haired receptionist on evening arrival (but charming light-haired one on exit next day)- doesn't she know about customer service? She made me feel like a total nuisance arriving for a stay at her hotel -Wonky hot water tap- swivelled round on itself spraying water everywhere! -TV - up so high I had to stand on chair to switch it on- remote didn't seem to do this -Tiny bathroom basin- and I'm a small person- could barely fit 2 hands in! -NO shelf space in bathroom for toiletries -Dusty carpet around edges of room -No pillow covers over pillows (below pillow cases I mean)

    Was very nice staff people for our late arrival (5 in the morning), and it was a very very pleasant stay :)

    Would need an extra blancet or two for the bad standard of isolation on british houses. Very cold during nighttime.

    staff very friendly, pleasant and helpful ; great location

    this is more of a comment but as tourists the reception staff were unable to advise in relation to hampton court or Kew gardens at all; however a walk to the visitor centre did answer all tourist related questions. the second point is a safety issue, the shower, without warning, would change from comfortable to scalding which was unpleasant to say the least

    In terms of value for money, its excellent in that area of London and this was the main cause drawing me to Shandon House. The location is great, where is closed the venue of my conference and also local facilities. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable.

    The facilities inside my room had a number of defects. The desk was a bit wobbly and the desklamp was not working. The sewage of the sink was semi-blockage. There were dirts thought to be leaving behind from the previous guest(s) on the tea/coffee making table whitout cleansing up. The coffee mug looked like not a fresh one.

    Good location close to trains, buses, yet tranquil neighbourhood. Complimentary 'Continental' breakfast was excellent value.

    Bathroom quite small and washbasin very small indeed. Otherwise room was excellent.

    Our room (no 25 twin) was very cramped, very very very noisy, overhead plane noise started every morning at 6am, with a flyover every 30 seconds, in addition, local builders were using a hammer drill from 8am

    fresh bread for breakfast, good coffee, nice & clean rooms, clean shared showers/bathrroms, short walking distance from (very beautiful) "downtown" Richmond, where one finds wide variety of pubs, restaurants, & others. tube station literally minutes (3-5) away.

    thin walls, but guests tend to be quiet (i noticed but it never disrupted my sleep during the 13 nights i spent there).

    Very clean and well furnished. Linen was fresh and unworn.

    staff where good i booked over the internet th night before for a basic room when i arrived they didnt have my booking or a basic room left i had to pay for a twin room at £60 i would have expected at least a cooked breakfast for that

    the bathroom floor had broken tiles and i couldnt shut the small window very noisy at 4.30am due to the planes flying over

    Excellent hotel, just as pictured, easy to find, friendly staff.

    Toilet flush button got stuck in when pushed had to take lid of and push it back manually everytime, not to much of a problem though.

    Friendly staff. Simple continental breakfast of decent quality, available in plenty of time.

    Quite a long walk to restaurants for evening meal - not a problem on this occasion, but could be in bad weather. Extremely limited parking - I squeezed into the last space after some manoevering. This is why I won't use this hotel again, as I can't take a chance on having to circle the streets looking for somewhere to park, and then have to carry heavy luggage over a great distance.

    Ideal as a base to go to Twickenham, near to train station. Good local restaurants. Fairly comfortable room, some of staff helpful.

    Thin, uncomfortable pillows. Bed too short. (My fault maybe - 6'4") Very basic breakfast available. Shared hairdryer required collecting from reception - not in this day and age surely! Had to visit sister hotel to obtain info from internet. No local train info or info re Kew Gardens - (only 1/4 of a mile away!)

    Very warm in room, floor creaked very loudly (pity the people staying below!), noises from plumbing.

    Location to Course in Richmond

    First room that was given to me the heating was faulty and could only stay ON all of the time. Receptionist/Maintenance tried sorting the problem with a spanner but I had to move room in the end. My 2nd room was only big enough for a small single bed and a kettle. The receptionist did not mention to me that the room had only previously been painted and this was noticed by me and caused breathing difficulty

    Water heater in common shower was not working properly. Had sporadic spurts of warm and cold water when showering.

    Comfortable and warm. Very good value. Well supplied tea & coffee supplies. Close to station.

    Booking did not take place through the internet. I had to rebook by phoning the hotel. Some traffic noise which was acceptable for me.Nocooked breakfast if that's what you want.

    The reception area is unwelcoming and intimidating a large counter and you can only see the member of staffs eyes peering over it !! and not partcularly friendly staff on reception. The girls in the restaurant however were very helpful. In need of redecoration and maintenance in areas of the room

    The hotel is located near to the train station and town centre and has some limited off road parking.

    The hotel tends to favour the single occupant as the en-suites in some rooms are very small. The shower and hand basin tap controls would be better if they had thermostatic controls on them.

    Visiting Twickenham for the rugby, the location is superb. Price is good for anything around Twickenham on a match day. Will definately stay again.Very clean and staff very friendly.

    Difficult to do continental breakfast after a rugby day. Better for a slight increase in rates and a full english! Parking a nightmare!
