    Food was very good (I ate dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant) and the staff were very friendly & helpful. Room was decorated well and comfortable. It was easy to find from the motorway.

    Activehotels website said it had a fitness centre but it did not.

    The hotel staff with whom I came into contact were always very charmimg and helpful, especially the reception staff. The quality of the food was good and where it was served (as opposed to the carvery and breakfast self service) it was always well presented. The carvery and breakfast were also very good and varied and value for money.

    Toast had not always been in the toaster long enough and had to be sent back on two mornings because really it was not touched on one side and barely on the other. To show that it had not just been reheated it was noticible that the brown I requested had turned to white. A small, very small, matter.

    Spacious room, excellent bathroom. Innovative layout of hotel. Excellent choice of food at breakfast. Carvery looks appetising.

    A la carte menu too adventurous given the dire food prsented. First pigeon breast starter returned as unable to cut it....it was so tough & overcooked. The loin of pork with a crust was overcooked, the crust was burnt & soggy accompanied by a glutonous sauce & the wilted greens were a cream, soggy mass. The raspberry & white chocolate cheesecake was a pink gloopy blancmange texture which tasted of nothing. Coffee was a grey,week liquid. My advice is eat out & don't have dinner there.

    The smiling staff, quality of the meal in the restaurant was outstanding and breakfast was first class. The room was comfortable and well lit. Wi-Fi was quick and easy

    The siting of the kettle beneath the television meant crawling on the floor to make tea. The bed felt a little lumpy but I slept very well

    Not really a bad point, but the hotel is 5 miles from Wetherby, not by Wetherby's famous bridge as you might expect from the name

    Everything was clean comfortable and convenient. Food was good and well presented.

    Only small bad point was that the room was rather dark. Probably it's position onthe ground floor was responsible for that.

    The value for money was really excellent - lovely room, terrific breakfast, friendly service. We even had shampoo and shower gel! The staff were in evidence, and clearly wanted to help. Just sorry it was only one night - we shall return! Thoroughly recommended.

    Loved the bath- water, pressure, temperature shower- excellent and clean. Generel look and location of the hotel beautiful.

    The bar was very poor, there was nothing going on and no atmosphere so nobody tended to stay and drink. Though the locals were very friendly.

    Hotel cleanliness and service was excellent !and good value for money.

    I was dissapointed in the breakfast It was self service which is good but the food had obviously been prepared,displayed and 'just left'! It was all 'dried up' and vertually inedible. The food should have been cooked on more 'supply and needed' basis so that it was 'fresher' and not put out and left for hours on end.

    "We only stayed one night, and there was some party on that night, which we werent told about, and it kept me and my girlfriend awake until early morning. Had I known this was going on, I would have booked somewhere else. We were travelling down to pick up a car and back up the next morning, 700 mile trip, and being kept awake did not help! The walls are also very thin and could hear people speaking next door. Would not use again." (97689443)

    The room was very comfortable, we liked very much that we were on the ground floor, and the bathroom and shower were great.

    The breakfast was barely adequate, and definitely NOT worth the high price. We did not realize the breakfast was priced separately, and we would not have opted for such an expensive meal had we been given the choice.

    Value for money

    The window lock was broken therefore not allowing the window to be opened and there was no remote control for the TV - both were reported to reception.

    Excellent friendly helpful staff. Staff arrange lifts to and from rail station as no local transport. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. breakfast selection was great and as much as you like no limits like some hotels.

    Location of hotel no local public transport.Train station 3 miles away 1 train an hour.Rooms are small but well equipped and have shower and bath.

    Nice hotel, restaurant good, lovely carvery, breakfast very varied and plentiful.

    Need to check all items in bedrooms are in working order, remote control for tv did not work and probably only needed new batteries, staff should check these things.

    The staff were very good,very helpful and always smart. The food was excellent,the service smooth and well done.The bar was cosy and quiet and prices very reasonable.The rooms were very clean with a bright airy feel,with plenty of tea and coffee and nice white clean towels.

    Not many,just the bed could have been more comfortable my wife awoke with backache some mornings,and i hate long life milk for the tea and coffee.
