    The leisure facilities were very good.

    The website told me that the room would have an iron & ironing board and an unstocked mini-bar but it didn't have either of these and we needed them. We asked reception for an iron and ironing board and received one eventually after having to phone for 1 again.

    Lack of towels and loo roll addressed. Staff were polite.

    Not enough towels or loo roll on arrival. Room was extremely small and in a poor state of repair. Bathroom was tiny and although clean had dirty grouting and peeling sealant round the bath. Shower was hard to operate as the tap was broken. Heating was unable to be switched off so a fan was provided. Not good in a tiny room! There was only terrestrial and freeview TV available in a hotel of this rating we were expecting digital and pay to view.

    When we expressed our complaints to the manager he was very apologetic and helpful. He arranged transport when our delay at reception had made us late, and gave my colleagues a bottle of wine and some bottled water after their complaint about a creature in the water. The tea/coffee facilities in the rooms were good and the coffee wasn't Nescafe which I find too bitter. The rooms were clean and well prepared.

    Check in procedure was very slow. We were 45 minutes and there were only 2 parties in front of us. The lady checking us in was training but every time she asked for help she was met with exasperated sighs and sharp comments by someone I presume was the head receptionist who then treated her in appalling manner by pushing her arm away from her when she was standing in a position she didn't like. We had booked 2 twin rooms and they tried to give us doubles. When my colleagues went into their room and turned on the tap an earwig or some such creature came out into the glass. Although I did not have a cooked breakfast my colleagues who did found it far from the best they'd had and not worth the price. Having to try and catch a waiters eye to get tea and coffee was not a winning point either. The tables were in blocks of 3 and you had to squeeze between them if you were sitting on an inside table, reminiscent of school.

    Spacious public areas.

    Noisy air con/no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. £17.50 a lot to pay extra for breakfast when paying £110 for the night.

    excellent location close to tube and only 30mins from KingsX.Excellent customer service. Plus point facility to leave luggage and collect later allowing hassle free site seeing as was due a late departure.

    bathroom plumbing a bit suspect.As with most hotels in the Capital bar prices higher than average.

    Absolutely nothing.

    Dirty, no way a 4*, rooms (I was moved 3 times) stank of smoke or damp, no mini-bar, extortionate room service prices, horrendous food - stale bread, deep fried rubbish, receptionist openly telling everyone that building 2 was sub-standard, got charged an extra £20 for 'upgrade' - I wish I had saved my money and stayed in a Travelodge - dreadful dreadful dreadful!

    Poor room for 'superior' standard - moved twice and took nearly an hour. Rooms boiling hot. Beware if booking a twin if going with a colleague - you'll end up with 2 beds but set out as a double? Can't imagine why they do this.

    Very small room, needs updating. Huge queue at breakfast and no attempt to clear queue more quickly-guests have work to go to!!!. Dirty Chairs at breakfast. Poor coffee service and tinned fruit!!!!

    Dinner in restaurant excellent. All staff very helpful and attentive.

    Single room a bit small and rain falling on window sill outside was like machine gun fire at 5am in the morning! Bar & reception area very cold and draughty every time someone came in or out of the place!

    Inexpensive: leisure facilities good. Did not try the bar or restaurant

    Checkin was poor; had me booked in for the next night! Sorted eventually by reception but took a while. No complimentary bottle of wine in room as stated on booking. Could not be bothered to mention at time. Location is not Barbican as beleived from description. Semi residential are of Islington on edge of City.

    Staff were friendly and communal areas of the hotel were very nice. Resturant was very good with good service and lovely food

    Room appeared clean but had noticable smell of sewage (could not decide if coming in from corridor or from outside). Room also suffered from noise from wihtin the hotel sufficient to wake me up during the night

    Almost perfect.

    Being picky, but breakfast waiting staff were very slow. Also, shower fell off the wall (but was easy to screw back together).

    There were none particularly. The room was clean enough.

    Room window was stuck down, room for two provided with only one towel and one cup; iron setting broken; hairdryer did not work; no extra blankets; bath and shower were lukewarm; called for extra towels and they took 45 minutes to arrive by which time it was too late. Concierge could not recommend a good restaurant. At breakfast, no toast, no-one came round with tea as promised - we asked but could not wait.

    Hotel staff were polite and efficient

    The hotel tried to give me a twin room, when I'd booked a double. They told me that they'd not received the information that it was a double that was wanted. The non-smoking room was smokey and the safe deposit box didn't work.

    The room was wonderfully peaceful, and the check-in staff very considerate in helping to ensure this. I really needed a refuge, and this was it! The bed was also very comfortable, and staff helpful at 5 a.m. in finding me a packed breakfast to take with me.

    Part of the ceiling was falling down ... and the curtains were very frayed. This gave a slightly disconcerting tattiness to the room.

Actually it is the best value for money night I have spent in any hotel and I have stayed in quite a few. I would have liked to have spent more time at the hotel to have explored the facilities but we only wanted a base to sleep in.     Long queue for breakfast, some of the items had run out when we went to get them. We had booked a twin room but ended up sleeping in the same bed..Fortunately it was a big one so we didn't end up cuddling each other!!!!! There could have been more sugar in the room as my friend has a sweet tooth Signposting to rooms could have been a bit more prominent
