    Our room was not cleaned for 2 days but we partly to blame as we hadn't put a notice out

    Sandwiches ordered from the bar were fresh, well-presented and tasty.

    Inadequate staffing levels, excessive queuing to check in and seek information; long wait at the bar to order food, poor shower function in room, unsatisfactory service at breakfast in a very crowded dining room.

    "Excellent and we will not hesitate to book the hotel on our next visit to London" (107678603)

    This is a hotel of high standard and reasonably priced and very close to the centre of London. Perfect for us visiting our children in Archway

    Dont take this as a critisism of our stay. The potato and leek soup we had for lunch was a bit tasteless but the service was very good.

    very clean,welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Staff very attentive.Restaurant A1.Well done chef! Only a small detail,I know,but this was the first time that I had stayed at a hotel that not only placed free water in the fridge,but went to the trouble of supplying fresh milk as well.

    The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was situated in a nice location and found it very easy to get to. The room was nice and very spacious.

    The breakfast was slow and when it arrived it was cold.

    "This charming hotel has much to recommend it to guests and overall our stay was very pleasant, however several small problems tarnished the experience.It's 4 star status leads guest to expect high standards, and sadly it fell short of being a 4 star experience. " (107913576)

    Location good, short taxi ride from tube. Comfortable room, clean and warm with comfortable bed and all usual amenities. Excellent food, quick service. As described on web site this is a hidden gem of a hotel with bags of character and charm. Majority of staff extremely helpful and proffesional. Check out process pleasant and helpful.

    Initial check in experience was poor, receptionist unhelpful and brusque, chewing gum didn't add to the charm. Mix up over special offer selected during web booking was unable to be resolved satisfactorily, attitude of staff member was disinterested. On arrival in room found bed cover not on bed but thrown in the wardrobe, the occasional table had badly split and blistered veneer (fine line between antique and shabby). Mini Bar not stocked.Second day of visit toiletries not replaced. Due to refurbishments taking place (not mentioned on web site)satalitte TV signals very poor. Breakfast times were 7:30 - 10:00am, but guests chosing to take a later breakfast i.e. 9:30 were subjected to constant clock watching and tutting.

    Handy location - old 'charater' based building. Breakfast very good!

    Room was dirty. Floor covered in bits. Painting had recently taken place - looked like no 'cover-sheets' had been used; spots over furniture.

    Lovely lounge and bar area. Dining room is beautiful. Excellent breakfast.

    directions on finding hotel were awful. We got lost. The hotel needs to understand that not everyone travels from the North!

    NOTHING REALLY BAD. IT SEEMS A SHAME THAT ONE HAS TO WASTE SO MUCH WATER IN THE SINK WAITING FOR THE WATER TO BE HOT ENOUGH FOR A SHAVE.

    staff were friendly are seemed to be doing their best

    dinimg room could not cope with a group of 30 rersidents at the one time it was suggested that we have 3 sittings , when this was not acceptable the group was accomodated in one sitting , the service was slow, this despite all guests preorderimg their meal from the bar and writing their names on the menus as requested , food was poor when it eventually arrived , chicken was bland fish very small serving

    "We booked an executive room. Bed was small and you could feel the springs in the mattress. Curtains were ripped and ripped further when we tried to draw them. Hotel looked tired and shabby. Breakfast was like staying at Faulty Towers. All the tables were taken in the dining room, we were asked if we would like to have breakfast outside, (it was raining), or would we like to eat in the bar area. We chose to wait for a table, took 15 mins, when we sat down the table was half cleared and laid for two people with the other half still covered in the previous peoples plates etc. After 2 requests the tea & coffee eventually arrived without any milk, after 2 further requests milk arrived by this time the tea & coffee were cold. Toast arrived without butter, 2 more requests were require before the butter arrived. I ordered full English, which arrived after 25 mins, my wife ordered smoked salmon & brown bread, smoked salmon arrived on a hot plate, no bread, after another request the bread arrived 15 mins later. They seemed to be very under staffed and poorly trained. We stay in many hotels here and overseas and this was not a good experience. " (97090665)

    Hotel in very good condition: tastefully furnished, well kept, clean etc. Excellent facilties in the room, and a very pleasant garden. Interesting history too (England 1966 and all that)

    The breakfast (particularly on Sunday 6th July) was very disappointing. Nobody took our order for the main component from the breakfast menu in over twenty minutes of waiting and we eventually had to leave without it. Furthermore, the coffee which we did manage to order never arrived. There were no bowls for the cereals for approximately ten minutes, and no glasses for the orange juice (which is all we had to drink owing to the no-show from the coffee) which had to be drank out of tea cups. Overall, that meal was very poor. The staff who were on duty (one man appeared to be running the whole show for much of the time) seemed to be working very hard but the operation was woefully understaffed.

    Hotel, facilities and location were very nice.

    When I checked in, I told the lady I was leaving early (6:30) next morning. She kindly offered me room service breakfast at 6:00 because the restaurant would still be closed. at 6:15 I was getting worried; no breakast. When I asked the guy at reception, he told me he knew about my breakfast request but was not allowed to leave his desk (or wanted to) when I insisted he made some toast and coffee. By this time it was 6:30 , so I had to leave. I was pissed: VERY poor performance. get rid of this guy, I would definitively not return because of this.

    Extremely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a clean hotel. Perfect location for events at Wembley Stadium, just off the motorway and only a few miles to the stadium.

    Room a little smaller than expected, not really an executive room.

    "Lovely hotel only 30 mins by tube (Hendon Central on the Northern Line which is a few minutes away by taxi) from central London. Staff are very pleasant and the service is excellent. The food is fantastic both at dinner and breakfast. Our room had lovely views over the grounds, was comfortable, warm and very clean, but every noise from the bathroom next door could be clearly heard through our bedroom wall, and I assume they could hear us. We will probably return when we next visit London -but armed with earplugs!" (97276764)

    The hotel is comfortable and clean. Breakfast is very good and staff in restaurant are pleasant and helpful.

    The receptionist was miserable, unhelpful and downright rude to my wife and daughter at check in and unpleasant to me at check out!

    Beautiful mansion house, lovely surroundings and easy access to where we wanted to go and easy to get to from home. Staff were friendly and helpful and accommodation was clean and well kept in character

    The hairdryer in our bathroom was broken and until we were checking out, we didn't realise that there was another hairdryer tucked away in a drawer in the room along with tea and coffee making facilities. Not very well labelled !!!

    "The two male staff that served us on the monday and wednesday night in the restaurant were fantastic.The lady in a morning who took the breakfast order was brilliant.The girls on the reception were very helpful and the taxi's were here in 5 mins.It was the best short break that we have had and we will be coming again next year."     "Hendon Hall would be a lovely place to have a wedding but for a luxurious overnight stay you could find much better for cheaper closer into the city centre." (97060916)

    The staff were friendly, the setting is beautiful and the Hall itself is really impressive.

    For the price it juts didn't feel like good value. The Executive Double Room was a bit pokey and the luxurious setting seemed to end at the door to the room.

    Lovely room very clean and spacious reception staff pleasant and helpful.

    Bar prices!!!And never a full glass. A measured amount of wine instead of guessed amounts.
