Staff very offhand. Food of poor quality, deep fat frier must be overworked. The amount of food for the price too small. A ramekin dish for a fish crumble???

Good value in view of location, and perfect for access to conference.
On line booking had not been advised to Hotel. Reception staff did not seem to understand any form of urgency. At Check in a queue of 7 parties and only one person on the desk! On Check out there was no bill provided due to a computer problem.

Complimentary use of local gymnasium
Approximatly an hour or so after I checked out I began to itch all over. I was flying from Heathrow and went to the toilets to see what was the cause and discovered around 26 bite marks on my body. I have been bitten like this before and knew that the bites are caused by bed bugs. the bites are extremly itchy and caused me discomfort and poor sleep during my business trip to Switzerland.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean.
This hotel is grim and is not up to the normal Thistle standard. I am amazed is in the Thistle stable of hotels!

Staff were great. Dinner good and breakfast good. Service excellent.
Bathrooms needed a good clean around the grouting and underneath the toilet bowl. My pillow was wet on the 2nd nights stay???? Room was very cold on arrival and took ages to warm up including the beds. Not what you want after a long journey. Dated and run down feel.

"I reported the problems of my room on two mornings and nothing was done. Only on the third time was action taken. I would only stay here again because I attend an annual convention at this venue." (107373398)
Area of hotel in which my room was situated was very cold. Room was very cold took two days to get anyone to look at heating, only on third night was the room warm. The TV did not work for two days & nights again this was fixed for last night of the stay. Refurbishment work further down corridor meant there was a srong smell of paint. The bathroom had a strong smell of drains. My room key was de-activated 24 hours before I was due to check out because of an error by the check-in staff.

the staff were extremely friendly but that does not for one moment balance out what was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel.
- room was freezing. asked to be changed to another room that was equally as cold. I am not a complainer so it demonstrates just how bad it was if i asked to change hotel. - i did contemplate moving hotel but i was just so tired that i hadnt the energy - the room service food was lousy - the cleaner at 7.45am opended the door and then knocked at the door!

Nice room and bathroom.
1. Light on one side of bed did not work. 2. Room exceptionally cold when we arrived about 9 pm. We turned on heater but it took at least 15 minutes for it to start blowing warm air. It never got hot. Following morning, heater only blew cold air so we rang reception and asked for small heater to be brought immediately as room was freezing. It never came, although promised. When we complained at reception about this, when we checked out, the member of staff I am absolutely sure I spoke to (as he had checked us in the previous evening) denied all knowledge of my call.

We booked this room with the offer of English/Continental Breakfast being included. This made the room charge very ecconomical, the choice of food was exceptionally good.
The hotel room was freezing cold on arrival, we immediately turned the heating on, but it had seen better days, the air heater blew out luke-warm air and made a lot of noise so we couldn't sleep with it turned on. We slept in jogging-bottms and sweat-shirts as the room was sooooooooo cold!

internet reservation structure is good but is useless if the hotel reservations are not informed of the booking on the day of arrival and in essence walked in with potentially no garauntee of a room. booking reference number given by electronic bookings did not exist.

Good Value in a good location.
Poor heat control. Tired and gloomy corridors and stairs. Retro fitted disabled handrail in shower area very annoying as it severely restricts elbow room. several hard knocks were had which I believe out weigh any benefit to an infirm guest.

The room was presented well and the staff were freindly and efficient. It would have also have been great value for money if not for the 2 overriding issues that spoilt the whole stay.
1. Smell of sewage in the bathroom, which progessively got worse throughout the night. 2. It was a cold winters night and the only heating was slow and the noise from it drowned out the heathrow flight path!

"I expected the noise of aircraft as it's an airport hotel, but not every 30 seconds and 30ft above room causing it to shake. This is the reason I would not stay again. On arrival, staff "dumped" me in a corridor with a room number direction plate which did not include my room number. Another staff member then directed me in totally wrong direction to my room which included climbing stairs with heavy baggage (no lift) then having to retrace steps to find the room number plaque was wrong." Room was newly decorated and very clean. Staff on Reception desk were polite and helpful.
Room (although newly decorated) was located in shabby, noisy staff quarters. Poor lighting design in room with all lights on one switch meant had to have bright light and high heat (the halogen spots being very hot).

hotel was adequate, I traveled by train and was able to get to it using the shuttle bus service. although this too a long time.
Te internet said a swimming pool and leisure facilities were available which is why I chose hotel. The staff verified this when I arrived however on arriving at the facility (5.25pm) I was told the leisure club had closed. I felt the info given on website and by hotel staff was incorrect and was very disapointed. Also I found it very unclear when booking on line and giving my card details I presumed i had paid for the hotel as I was trying to spread out the cost of my trip. However on arrival i was told this was not the case I therefore found the booking process and the printed information was not clear re this issue again was dissapointed.

Clean and comfortable. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.
Reception very slow. Large and impersonal hotel. Overpriced restaurant and breakfast. Duvets on bed (rather than blankets) are hot and heavy - no opportunity to regulate the heat!

1. On arrival an amount of 50GBP was charged on our credit card for facilities we may or may not use. We were told a credit would be processed on departure if not used. We found this an unacceptable practice. 2. The first room we were allocated was next to the boiler room and very noisy. 3. We were moved to a different room and discovered in the morning that the shower wasn't working

Check in staff member was very good and helpful
The room was shabby and needs a make over. eg there was a BIG crack down one of the walls and the paintwork on the bathroom ceiling was flaking.

Location to Business very good, Room noise was at a minimum, considering location of Airport,
Would have liked SKY TV(sports & films) in bedroom, Wireless internet is normally free in other hotels i have stayed As a hotel resident, i did not expect to have to pay for my overnight parking,

Good sized room, clean with good working BT openzone( paid) connection.
No Lift, They forgot to book family room for me and booked single room- but sorted after 30-45 mins of waiting. It was very difficult to find by GPS with post code. The hotel is not on Bath Road but smaller Cul de sac.
