    Well appointed, comfortable hotel. Nice bar and restaurant areas both serving good food at reasonable prices. Nice (buffet) breakfast.

    Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was helpful. I would like to commend Glen that worked the late shift at the counter for his help while I was waiting for a taxi coach to pick me up.

    I had to get my key re-programmed a couple of times even though I tried not to have them come in close proximity to electronics.

    "Hotel was adequate for the purpose of "crashing" when arriving in Liverpool. Three minute walk to ferry service to Isle of Man (Steam Packet Ferries). Within walking distance of shopping (Liverpool 1) and a nearby coffee shop and Boots." (108701385)

    Majority of staff very pleasant (see below)with helpful recommendations for meals. Linens and room clean. Excellent location for Albert Dock and ferries to Isle of Man. Breakfast was good - full spread and included in the room price. Overall hotel was good value for money.

    The hotel was not able to accommodate early check in (understandable, it happens) however the first staff member we encountered could have cared less. Not the attitude that helps when you are tired from an overseas flight. The hotel appears to have been a better quality one that has fallen on harder times; hard to tell if it is being refurbished yet or not. I would need to know it was improving itself to stay here again.

    Breakfast room inadequate. I had to make two visits before I found a available table and when I did I just wandered in. No one checking people in for breakfast.

    Receptionist friendly and helpfull Dinner Onion rings were lovely

    Waiter serving for dinner had dirty unkempt finger nails. Most of the serving staff in breakfast room look dishevelled. Mirror in bedroom over the desk on wall would have been better than in the desk Towels very thin. Dinner we had steak, served on a wooden board (hygiene???) , no steak knife.

    good location, very clean, reception staff polite, lovely and helpful. Breakfast lovely selection of food and plenty of tea and coffee, again staff were really polite. lovely view from room

    delays with checking in and lack of coffee and sugar in room. Had to ask various times for this before we received any.

    Car park not easy to find, signs were inside the entrance to it which was in shadow and no specific info on the hotel website how to locate it. TV remote didn't work

    the hotel was clean

    room not ready as stated when booked,room extremelly small asked to be moved for bigger bed . room very old fashionrd and not deluxe which we had payed for.not allowed to drink in bar as wedding booked till 5pm this was not stated when booked.we do not feel our stay was worth the money we had spent. we have stayed in several hotels all over england and scotland which have been better quality and much better priced. we wont recomend or stay there again.

    the room was excellent. air con was a plus and used all the time. the bathroom was excellent and very clean.

    the bed was a tad hard but by night 3 we were used to it. tv was in an awkward postion

    The hotel has an excellent location for short breaks and tourists. Rooms where very clean and ours had a brilliant view. Staff where friendly, in general, and helpful.

    May not be too important but the bathroom was very tiny.

    "It was fine - we were on floor 7 and got a glimpse the twin we were originally allocated on the 10th floor - there was quite a difference in the standard of the room between refurbed and old. Both were clean though." (107880066)

    Breakfast was good. Check out was easy. Staff were helpful

    Check-in: arrived at about 2.25 and by the time we got to the front of the queue it was 2.30. However, apparently the room allocated against our name wasn't ready, so we had to wait 10 minutes. Then we were given a twin instead of a double so we had to go down and change. By no means was this a massive problem, but it was just frustrating that other people that checked in at the same time had a room to go to while we had to sit and wait for our room be become available.

    The hotel was in a prime location with a wonderful view of the docks. The rooms are spotless and has all that you would need. We were a bit worried when we were trying to check-in as lots of people were being turned away as they had overbooked the hotel, but thankfully ours was one of the bookings that meant we were able to get a room. Check out time was that bit later than other places we have stayed in Liverpool which meant a bit of a lie in after a night out. We relly enjoyed our stay and the staff we brilliant. I would definately recommend this hotel.

    Basically a nice hotel and the staff were very pleasant

    check-in was long as only one person at the desk Getting hold of room service was poor but the receptionist was very helpful in that regard. however, on finally getting hold of them and placing my order, the food was excellent. Overall the room needs an update, plus the chest of drawers was badly stained, I guess due to guests messing water from the kettle

    A high quality of furnishing in the bedroom & bathroom. Room was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable.

    The postcode! Trying to find the Hotel was stressful! PLEASE change the postcode to the car park!! It took me an additional 45 mins to find the Hotel as the satnav system sent me through the tunnel.

    I found the location of the hotel excellant,it was walking distance to the shops and the night life. The hotel itself was spotless and rooms were very clean and comfy!

    The staff in general were lovely, however staff in reception could have been more friendly.

    Booking not passed onto hotel from head office, but soon sorted out by Charlotte from Active hotels who was very efficient and Martin from the Atlantic Tower Hotel.

    Cama inmensa con colchón muy cómodo Habitación decorada recientemente y en perfecto estado, limpia y muy amplia, con vistas al río Con plancha y secador de pelo. TV con satélite (cadenas en francés, español, alemán e italiano) Silencio absoluto durante la noche Personal muy agradable

    Cuarto de baño muy pequeño (aunque renovado y muy limpio ) No se puede preparar té o café en la habitación Desayuno lamentable: a las 8h ya no tenían ningún tipo de pan!! Sólo quedaban 3 cruasán de bollería industrial. El buffet era sólo una bandeja de embutidos (preparados la noche anterior) y no había variedad de zumos, ni tés, ni mermeladas, ni galletas, ni quesos...

    Excellant all round

    I book into the Thistle about six times a year. When i rang the hotel on this occasion the price quoted was £110 per room(2 rooms) notwithstanding that I am a regular visitor. When I booked on line the price quoted was £85 and £75 for the rooms booked.

    Nice room, very clean

    Very poor mattress. I would not stay there again because I was constantly waking in the night to move because I was stiff and sore from the mattress.

    On arrival 14.10hrs room not ready. The the room that we had booked was not available, we have been down graded, we had a smoking room which was smelly

    Friendly staff and great servuice. Good value for money with breakfast included which is always a plus for me and the difference between booking and not booking a hotel. Was able to check in even though I was early.

    the hot water took for ever, well 20 minutes to run to get anything warm enough to take a bath in.
