    Excellent staff, clean and comfortable bedroom, spacious, clean bathroom (heated tiles and big shower enclosure was a major plus), contemporary style and central location

    Temperamental sensor in door of one wardrobe - light kept switching on intermittenly when the door was closed which was annoying when it happenned intermittently during the night. Apples in complimentary fruit bowl had gone off.

    Spacious and stylish rooms and tasteful lobby without the riff-raff of a chain hotel. We loved the honesty bar (and the nice feeling of trust and charm that it conveys) and the huge roof-top garden and lawn. Staff were brilliant. Fresh and well prepared full Scottish breakfast - all fresh quality ingredients cooked beautifully.

    A bit inconvenient to get to the parking lot (a few doors up the road), especially with luggage.

    "When making booking twin beds were requested. However, a double was provided. Twin beds might have provided choice of bed covering according to personal preferences.     "Fabulous experience hotel is in a super situation for playhouse, shops, royal mile etc. All staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was too much bother for them." (97191876)

    Proximity to Waverley Station (we travelled by rail to Edinburgh), the ambience, the breakfast, the relative cost, the courtesy of your staff & the comfort of our room.

    Could not get a picture on BBC2 (we wanted to watch the tennis!).

    "The hotel was a wonderful experience. The view from the roof garden was just spectacular and you would not believe you were in the heart of Edinburgh. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and the room was amazing (details above). Some small details which were missed was info on the website regarding parking facilities next to the hotel and the discount offered on the parking fee. This is one of the cheaper car parks that we have been to and great value once the discount has been applied. Other point was more info needed about Edinburgh and things to do. We knew Edinburgh well so did not impact our stay but it would be handy for other guests to have at least some details of surrounding attractions." (99430505)

    The suite was warm and inviting as well as being modern and chic. It had all the facilities that you would expect but others which some hotels still fail to provide i.e ironing board and well stocked mini-bar. The bed was extremely comfy and the balcony with views of Calton Hill was impressive. Just wished we were able to stay for longer to enjoy all the amenities.

    Cannot compalin in anyway about the accommodation.

    The rooms wer very comfortable. In fact your beds were one of the most comfortable on our entire U.K. trip. The other great part of our trip was William in the lobby. He was extremely helpful to all of our questions while visiting Edenbough.

    "I have never had such a personal service, I felt as if I had been known by the staff most of my life and yet this was my first visit. The little personal touches of handwritten welcome card, thistles, fruit etc made it feel so special." (99259647)

    Husband recently had an operation which requires him walking with crutches. The staff could not have been more helpful offering private lifts and help with everything.

    "My grandson was really looking forward to a swim after travelling so far. We are just not accustomed to having to pay for the use of an advertised feature. I would have liked to have known prior to staying that this was not available. All in all our stay at your hotel was fantastic. We really want to thank your staff for their support in changing our rooms and the kindness they showed when doing so. They were great.     We all loved the beds! I wanted to take home the pillows! The rooms were extremely clean and well proportioned.

    I asked for 2 rooms close to each other and we got two rooms quite a distance apart. It was rectified very quickly by your staff with the utmost patience and thoughtfulness. The pictures of the women in the rooms were uncomfortable to my 14 year old grandson. We just don't see this type of photographs hanging in hotel rooms in America. Although they were displayed very nicely it was still uncomfortable for him. I also was led to believe there was a swimming pool. Again when traveling we usually do not have to pay to use a pool that a hotel provides.

    "The hotel is very discretely signposted witht he entrance of a very busy street - it would have been helpful if there were arrival instructions pointing out the availablility of a stopping place immediateley outside the door, However, on arrival we were greeted by a larger than life character in a dark trilby hat who set the scene for the extremely courteous and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Reception was quick and efficient and we were on our way to our room within minutes. Check out was just as efficient and again our friend in the dark trilby was there to see us off and wish us Bon Voyage!" (3305169942)

    The hotel was very modern and well appointed . Its location, almost in the centre of Edinburgh, was most convenient for all aspects of our visit being very close to both the Old and New Town areas. Despite this, the design of the hotel, and in particular the roof top garden, gave a very private and country feel to the accommodation. In all it was a perfect gem of a hotel hidden away in the centre of the city.

    If there was a down side it was the walk from reception to the room which may not be to everybody's taste but did not bother us.

    "Parking was not available, which we were no aware of, and the alternative was two blocks away. Television did not have CNN or Fox News, generaly available in international hotels. Outside of that, the staff went to great lengths to be pleasant and responsive, especially the porters and whoever served room service. It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of a magnificent city."     Very modern and high quality. Bed was great. Bathroom accessories were outstanding.View of the garden was awesome and soothing, considering we were in the middle of the city.

    Bathroom of room 10 and 40 was much smaller than 76, our original room which we had to vacate because the air cooling system was broken there.

Concierge, William was undoubtably a former miltary officer with quite the flare. I liked many of the touches that will make me remember the hotel in the future.     The balcony gave the room an added bonus... truly enjoyed the hotel. Had marvelous memorable touches that will make me highly recommend it in the future. Well appointed!

    Great balcony, nice room tho very compact. We felt like we were on a boat. you couldn't move around the room when anything was open or the water was heating, etc.

    sexist attitude and design - As my husband and I approached the hotel, the doorman greeted my husband and took his suitcase, leaving me behind with my suitcase. He called someone else to come get mine. The picutres on the wall in the room are all of nude women-not great art, but at least have an equal showing of nude men, or something not sexist. There are no services to speak of except room service. The recommendation the doorman gave us for breakfast was really weird - the back of an Italian deli - we went somewhere else.

    Centrally located for city center activities. Room provided excellent view of and access to the roof garden. Shoe cleaning was a nice touch.

    "The hotel was everything I would expect from somewhere of this class and reputation, couldn't really fault anything in terms of the room or service. In fact service by everyone we came into contact with was very good natured indeed. My only negative comment would be although the price was probably what you would expect to pay for somewhere like this, it's unusual in my experience for breakfast not to be included and when you are paying this kind of money it is nice for everything to be included - seems a bit greedy to be asked for an extra " (3304684480)
