THE MANAGER WAS VERY HELPFUL AND HAD A VERY PLESANT MANNER, HE EXPLAINED THE HOTEL WAS AT FAULT AND FOUND US AN UPGRADED ROOM.
TO ARRIVE AT THE HOTEL TO FIND ALTHOUGH YOU HAD A CONFIRMATION YOU DID NOT HAVE A ROOM WAS EXTREAMLY UPSETTING. WE HAVE A DAUGHTER IN LAW WHO IS VERY ILL AND THIS IS A STRESSFUL TIME FOR US ALL, TO TRY AND MAKE SURE THE SAME PROBLEM DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE RETURN JOURNEY I WENT TO THE RECEPTION AND EXPLAINED WE HAD A BOOKING IN FOUR DAYS TIME, TO BE TOLD AGAIN WE WERE NOT IN THE SYSTEM, THE LADY IN QUESTION TOOK A COPY OF OUR CONFIRMATION AND ASSURED US THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT HAPPEN ON THE RETURN JOURNEY. IT DID !!! ONLY THE STRESS WAS ADDED TO BY AN EXTREMLY RUDE RECEPTIONIST.UNTIL THE MANAGER ARRIVED THIS WAS A VERY STRESSFUL INCIDENT.

The hotel was clean and tidy and for what I wanted it did the job
Breakfast was a bit chaotic as food ran out and some of the staff were a little bit on the slow side.

The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff in the resturant were very friendly and helpful.
Our booking wasn't processed properly so they tried to make us pay twice.

The breakfast was nice
My room card didn't work during my entire stay, there was no air conditioning in my room, the iron was terrible, my room was tiny and my shower was no more than a dribble. It took nearly 15 minutes for me to book in even though I was first in line. I stay in hotels on a very regular basis and would not recomend this hotel to anyone.

"Over all it was OK The main problem I had was the booking process on the internet. 1 When booking I was asked for my card number and card details I assumed that this was the booking fee. 2 On arrival at the Hotel I was asked for my card details again. I explained that I had already done this once before and again assumed that I had paid at the Hotel. 3 On the morning of the check out I was again asked to give my card details and was asked to pay again. Very confusing to say the least. I have had to check my bank details to check to see if I have paid three times or the once. I would like to see a better system of payment on line. Why dont you cut out the middle man and let people book on line straight to you. It would make things a lot easier and a lot less confusing. The other confusing thing is the parking arrangements. When booking on line there is no mention of paying for car parking in the multi story car park next to the Hotel. £8.00 for the night. You only pay if you arive before six PM and not between six PM and 0600 hrs. Not very clear is it. The directions to the Hotel and how to reach reception could do with a little up dating. My general view is that the location of the Hotel may be fine from the pedestrian side but the road access can be a bit daunting if you dont know the area. Other than that the Hotel staff were friendly and performed their duties well." (97153972)

The Hotel is good, but I found my room rather small.
There is only English breakfast. I would have wantet to see at least some international style in the breakfast.

"Die Zimmer sind etwas muffig, aber dennoch auf eine heimeliche Art gemütlich. Leider ist es Kindern unter 16 Jahren nicht gestattet allein in das hoteleigene Schwimmbad zu gehen. Außerdem kann man mit dem Fernseher kein deutsches Programm empfangen. Der kleine Safe im Zimmer ist sehr nützlich. Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr freundlich und gibt bei Fragen gern Auskunft. Wer sehr früh abreisen muss, kann auch um 4 oder 5 Uhr Frühstück bekommen. Der Bahnhof ist unweit vom Hotel, sowie eine größere Einkaufsmall, die direkt neben dem Hotel liegt. Diese schließt leider schon zwischen 17.30 Uhr und 18.00 Uhr." (97942149)
Sehr freundliches Personal. Lage in der Stadt.
Das Frühstück, welches aber landestypisch war und deshalb nicht grundsätzlich zu bemängeln ist. Das englische Frühstück ist nicht mein Ding!

"We were disappointed to arrive to a hotel under a complete make over in the bar and food area. The work was noisy but the check in and reception staff did all they could to make us welcome and make our stay as comfortable as posssible. I think under the circumstances a reduction should have been offered by way of compensation for the inconvenience caused while work is in progress." (97212669)
I am really impress with the current staff in this hotel, we had a bad experience with the receptionist in 2006. The check in and reception staff were extremely helpful and polite, Well done to the new HR regime!
The rooms are quite small and the heating was too high, we struggled to open a window but had to as the heat made sleeping difficult.

"We booked a dinner bed and breakfast package. Upon arrival we were told that we could not have dinner as the restaurant was closed because it was New Years Eve and we hadn't paid for the New Years Eve set menu. A very apologetic receptionist looked into the problem and we were offered the Set Menu dinner at no extra cost. The hotel admitted it was their problem as it should have been noticed prior to our arrival. I was very impressed with their attitude and caring for a pleasant stay on our part.." (97924747)

The decor of the hotel room and the bed was comfortable.
The bottom of the bath was peeling, rough and discoloured and the heating made a clanging noise during the night.

Not much really. I guess the lobby and the lifts were nice and the location was good.
The decor, the furniture, the carpet, the bathroom suite, the corridors.. everything was old and needed replacing!

"The online booking experience was excellent, informative and smooth. The odd bit was the pricing. The only breakfast-inclusive package was £100 or alternately I could book a room for £50 without breakfast, which seemed bizarre, as breakfast is £10. Staff were courteous, attentive and helpful. The room was adequate, clean and everything worked. The views from the 10th floor were superb. The location is hard to beat and even the NCP car park is on its doorstep. Plus the Arndale Centre mall is right next door, if you want to avoid the steep Room Service prices!" (97092640)
Central location. Comfortable room. Great views from 10th floor. Above average quality of service - restaurant, floor and reception staff.
Steep Room Service prices, plus a Tray Charge even for a plate of salad or chips is too much. The key card had to be repeatedly reset by reception to make it work.
