    Great location for local facillities, the hotel swimming pool was an asset

    there were no bad points in my view

    "I would recommend it to others at it was a good deal, well situated. one downside was that I discovered that I could have had a better deal if I had booked direct with the hotel. A special offer was on that included evening meal as well as breakfast for the same price that we paid for b&b. Still I would go back again." (107479423)

    bedroom was nice clean and cosy. Staff were very friendly. tea tray in room was replenished each day.

    I learnt that the leisure suite had just been done up with the addition of a steam room, hot steam burnt my feet when I first entered the steam room, this was at floor level at the back of the steam room, so I avoided sitting near the back. Breakfast was okay could have been better.

    Staff were friendly, rooms good size. Breakfast was very good. Enjoyed the pool and sauna.

    The dinner menu was fine but certain dishes, stated on menu, were not as described on menu - eg. gnocchi with basil and pine nuts - there were no pine nuts and very little basil. The cheese board for two was more the size for one and again there was no blue cheese although stated on menu. The dining room was very busy the evening we stayed and the staff needed to be efficient and were. Breakfast was slow but due to staff being over stretched at that time.

    "Had a fantastic weekend and my partner proposed at blair castle horse trials! " (99419140)

    Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly.

    There was a leak outside our room. Staff at breakfast were very laid back and on both mornings we had to wait until a table was cleaned and re-set. Every table was used with no one seeming to clear up.Im not sure the lift would pass h&s inspection.

    You've spent money sensibly redecorating the rooms since we last stayed 2 years ago. Breakfast service was quicker and choice was good.

    The lift side is still as it was 2 years ago and I'm surprised you are allowed to have a lift with an OPEN side which shows the wall! At least change that bit of plywood near ground level. Preferably enclose the lift. I suppose it is safe enough but looks strange.

    "Overall we were happy with our stay (apart from the points mentioned above) We would stay at Scotlands Hotel again and really enjoyed the leisure facilities. The life guard on duty at the pool and sauna, was very safety concious and when we were in the sauna, bought us water to avoid dehydration. The hotel would really benefit from a 'lick of paint.' The food as lovely in the evening and portion sizes generous - good value for money, but the breakfast portions were on the small side." (97899814)

    The room was lovely and quiet and clean.The leisure facilities good. It was nice to have a quiet swim

    The communal areas were shabby and need of decorating. Aditional to this the maids had left trays of dirty crockery outside of the room next to ours that were still there 18 hours later!

    "The hotel must have been in its prime in Victorian and Edwardian days and would benefit from thorough attention to cleaning and to renewal, for instance, of a well used dining room carpet. However, it is good value for money and while the dinner menu seems unlikely to be varied from day to day the restaurannt (bistro) is attractive. Staff appear to be mostly East European but are all friendly and helpful." (97615956)

    Good basic facilities.

    Bedroom lacked any clock and would have been improved by more sensitive lighting; real weakness with room was failure by hotel staff to clean or service the room.

    It was clean and everything I required was included, tea, coffee soap, shampoo etc. Staff were good and food was of a high standard. Bar was well stocked and coffee etc. was available when required.

    The shower was poor and it did not seem to have the power to work properly with water temperature varying. The TV didn't work properly which was caused by a problem with the ariel connection into the set itself.

    "staff were pleasant helpful and curteous,the hotel itself was everything and more than we expected. My main source of dissapointment was having booked Scotland's hotel pitlochry because it had fitness suite i was dissapointed that the fitness suite closed at 8.30pm, i also found the changing rooms in a very poor state of repair, showers did not work very well, more water came out of shower control that from shower head, lockers did not have keys therefore useless to leave valuables,changing rooms were out of the ark and in desperate need of updating,the pool sauna and jacuzzi were well laid out, i was not in the gym so cannot commment" (97588099)

    tea +coffee in room, decor nice and bright, although in corridors it was a bit dated, curtains had blackout lining great in the spring and summer

    heating seemed to be uncontrollable from room,window would not stay open

    The staff were friendly and welcoming.

    The corridors were rather shabby and in need of a coat of paint and the lift was not working.

    "To be honest, the interior of the hotel was too dark and drab by modern standards. We got the impression that everything is geared to 'one night stop-over' coach parties rather than individual clients.Service at breakfast was poor. Mostly Polish staff struggling to communicate or take orders accurately. 2 out of 3 mornings we waited over 15 minutes before anyone came to serve us." (99781660)

    Location in Pitlochry was good.Amenities within easy reach.

    Our room 124 was very visable from the pavement. We had to close the curtains or been seen by passers-by who had a clear view into the room! Also it was long walk for my elderly mother through lots of fire doors. One of the 2 lifts was broken for part of our stay.The hotel corridors could do with fresh paint. The dining room needs new upholstered chairs and better lighting! The srong smell of chlorine from the swimming pool affected the upstairs corridor and far lounge area.

    "The room was basic although clean. The view was non existant as we were on the 2nd floor and could only see the surounding roofs. The breakfast was not very good, the sausage was grey in colour and the bacon was supposed to be beech smoked according to the menue but was just ordinary back bacon and not very well cooked, there was only a half tomatoe when the menue said a whole tomatoe and I think to get only half a slice of black pudding is penny pinching to the extreme!! I also think that the orange and grapefruit juice at breakfast had been watered down, it certainly was not fresh juice anyway." (99348285)

    "My husband and I went for a quiet relaxing weekend , and that was what we got - perfect. I'd recommend a trip to the Edradour whisky distillery , getting a taxi is best. If you are looking to buy some beer of a real ale type there is the old mill inn ( lunch is good too ) ." (99845657)

    "The staff were very helpful. I was taking my disabled wife and elderly mother, who has mobility problems, for a four day break. I did find the dinner prices high for what was provided. I disliked the habit of charging extra for items such as cheese/biscuits when ordered as desert. There were similar examples on menu. Also, the service was rather slow on a couple of evenings. My wife and I enjoyed the Spa facilities. Taking an elderly person with us meant that we could not leave her alone in the hotel. The pool, sauna, etc. meant that we could relax in the hotel. In fact, now I'd not go for a break at a hotel without them. The only thing that I'd like to have known before booking the accommodation would have been an indication of the base price of the dinners (" (99049401)

    The staff were very friendly & efficient.

    The decoration & facillities at the hotel were very tired & it definitely needs to be refurbished. Also the quality of the food was poor. It didn't appear to have been prepared by a trained chef. I thought it had been prepared elsewhere & heated in your kitchens!
