    Very good tariff on line, and good breakfast served by friendly staff. The room was small for two people but would be adequate for single occupancy. Leisure facilities were good and well kept, although the pool looked dingy because of the low lighting. Very good jacuzzi and sauna. Clean room and comfortable bed.

    The heated towel rail in the en suite had exposed wiring ( this was reported to the management) and the side of the bath panel had been pushed in to expose the end of the floor covering. The shower head was not adjustable as the fixture was broken, not high enough for anybody of average height. Good maintainance should have picked up these points .

    sorry the only good points was the coffee at breakfast time it was very good

    maintenance only done by all non qualified staff oviously to save costs the outside lights burning 24 hrs toilets not flushing,also a drip inside the cystern and cobwebs within the bathroom shades missing poor lighting and there is more

    nice location, well designed hotel, good food

    installations in the bathroom bad, loud ventilation, cold and hot water tap leaking, dirty and mould around seams in the bathtub, "cold" damp room and bathroom

    Price included a half board. The food was amazing, very good value for money.

    We were a bit let down by the spa. The pool was dirty and looked nothing like the photos. Disappointed not to find a steam room. Facilities were very basic.

    Fantastic location amongst woods + lakes, we had a log cabin seperate from main hotel (which was also made from logs)which made our stay more private and for us more enjoyable. Ducks + rabits wandering around outside too.

    Wished we could have stayed longer!

    Reception staff helpful but bar staff didn't seem to realise they were in a service industry. Training in customer relations a must

    The room we stayed in was, at least, very tierd. The food we had, buffet in the evening and breakfast in the morning, were little more than average, although the breakfast staff were very polite and helpful, as were the reception staff.

    Excellent hotel, rooms, gardens, surroundings and gym facilities were fantastic! The food was incredible, top rate!!!

    Only the weather....which is in no way a fault of the hotel, shame we can't control it!!!

    clean rooms and facilities. very friendly helpful staff particularly at breakfast. warm and cosy.

    room was a bit small and was not really what i would have called 'executive'. Nowhere in bathroom to store toiletries e.g shelf, cabinet. Bath water dribbled out quite slowly then ran cool when bath was half full.

    Very nice food, nice location and enjoyed using the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Nice place to go and relax.

    Drinks were over priced ,staff seemed disorganised during evening meal, no television in any of the bar areas.

    lovely setting, in woodland, yet close to town. clean, comfortable, liked natural materials used eg turf roofs on cabins, scottish woollen covers on bed. well-equipped with hairdryer, ironing boards, iron, tea/coffee-making facilities. restaurant staff helpful and efficient. function room v attractively decorated.

    bathroom flimsy, plastic bath, chilly, shower useless, poor water pressure and variable temperature. cost of meals in restaurant.

    I found the hotel was very good even though there were building works they did not create a disturbance. Plenty of hot water. The Spa was good, though the changing rooms could be a bit cleaner.

    The only downside was the shower in our bathroom, we are both tall, my partner 6'2" and there was no way we could have a shower as it was set under the eaves. So when we come again I will need to make sure that we do not have a room upstairs. I would like to suggest that you leave some floats and tubes in the pool area for people to use when relaxing in the Pool. No walkway cover between hotel and spa, it would be nice to go between the two without the risk of getting wet.

    Cramped room. Central heating did not work. Bed felt damp. Bathroom grubby - mirror had not been cleaned for months and light over it did not work. TV aerial inadequate for the five available channels. Cooked breakfast was the worst that I have ever had. Paper that I ordered was not available. Banging door to gym. Reception staff were indifferent to points raised with them

    overall the hotel is appearing old and worn. much dust and cobwebs in evidence . cabins very poorly lightred.numerous lamps out. very poor tv receptioin and still only 4 channels. no control box for the video.

    Staff were very polite and helpful

    Our room was very unclean, from mould on net curtain to dirt on valance. There is no excuse for such dirty conditions.

    chambermaid was very helpful and offered to help us with our bags.

    check in apalling - could not do so until after 5pm. No information gien to us at reception (or in the room) about the facilities on site. Sink in bathroom did not drain, light bulb at the side of the bed not working. No extra toilet rolls and the laminate on the toilet seat was peeling off. The matress on the bed was apalling, had the worst night's sleep ever on it. Very poor picture on the tv.

    Peaceful and tranquil setting. Hotel very pleasing on the eye, calming with unusual wooden decor throughout. Pool area with relaxing area overlooking the lake which was usually quiet. Room very clean and very adequate with storage and facilities. Restaurant staff very obliging and friendly.

    Not so much bad - log cabin smaller than anticipated from pictures on website. Food in restaurant was a little overpriced for what we had compared to outside good restaurants, wouldn't choose to eat in their again - the bar food looked really good value and well prepared.

    "The food was good and the waiting staff attentive. I would have liked to know that I would be staying in a lodge so that I could have booked in before I emptied my car and then had to reload it to drive round to the lodge. Great to have the car so close to the room." (97808014)

    The size of the room and the good light for paper work.

    The heater did not work but was replaced immediately I called reception.The television did not work and it was to late to ask for help.

    "The picture online and the website pretty much let me know what to expect but the friendly atmosphere and general feel of the place, looking onto the lake in the morning were all fabulous, not to mention the super breakfast . I will definitely stay again and have already recommended to family and friends ,I may return to recover from my 40th birthday in 2009, but hope to be back before then !!!!" (97456366)

    it was spacious and clean but still homely and comfortable, with a bit of class and luxury thrown in. The little extra like the robes and tea coffee, toiletries just made the icing on the cake .

    Only 2 minor things the staff were above our room ands I heard them moving around about 530am, but went back to sleep, and our towel heater in bathroom didn't work.

    "Service inconsistent in both in dining room and and guest room. Early breakfast was good, with plate service, no buffet. Late breakfast overcrowded. Delays in preparing vacated tables. No plate service but buffet replenished, except potatoes, when majority of customers had left. Bath towel provided on first night but not replaced on nights two and three. No face flanel at all."     Pleasant situation and attractive appearance. Facilities conveniently organised

    Room too small. Inadequate storage space for one, let alone two. Bathroom always cold. Light over mirror did not work.

    "The reviews already on the website prepared us well for our stay here.The cabins were cosy in the Winter, and the swimming pool was large and nice and warm. The food was good and well presented, we had dinner on both nights. The menu is updated daily which is good. The reception on the TV was a bit dodgy, but not a problem. There was a limited mobile signal, but there was a payphone in the lobby." (97163125)

    Casual & cosy atmosphere. The log cabins were very welcoming on a cold, dark, November night.

    Not a lot really. Excellent breakfast menu, unfortunately many items were missing.[ and I think items available which weren't on it!]

    Accomodation was very good overall - tho rooms were a little on the dark side for face painting - sorry, wifes make-up, but then you probably wouldn't want a log-cabin effect with floodlights. More local lighting adjacent mirror would improve it. I would definitely stop again when using Leeds Bradford airport for holiday / short trips.

    Shortage of large towels on the day - issue with local laundry I believe. Probably a bit light on staff that evening - seemed like a few mix-ups with bar meals, tho' girl behind the bar counter kept smile on her face - good for her.
