    "myself and my partner love York and it won't put us off coming here again it just won't be in Blossoms Bed and Breakfast." (108888117)

    it was a nice short walk to into York

    the room was on the small side,the shower was very small you had no room to dry yourself,the picture on the tv was poor,not enough pillows and the quilt was cheap and thin.

    The staff was extremely helpful and the directions from the train station were spot on. The room was neat and clean, the bed was confortable and there was internet on site. Breakfast was fine.

    A little bit farther from the train station that I thought and while advertised as a B & B and not a hotel, there was a charge for breakfast.

    Location handy to old city center and sights. Parking available.

    Whilst some staff were very helpful, some were not so helpful (for example, rather cold reception at door when told to check in via a machine outside front door that didn't work).

    What staff we met were very nice

    Room was'nt very clean,beds had mattress's about 2 inches thick,no draws for clothes just one small hanging rail.Overall very small,very noisey fan in ensuite.Only had breakfast one morning,poor,had to get continental my self and cook my own toast.Overall very poor and not worth the money

I consider that the cost was quite high and I expected a better standard of accommodation especially as I had booked it on the recommendation of Olive magazine. The adding on a charge for breakfast was a double edged sword as you did know what you were paying for but the cost for the room only was really high enough without having to pay extra for breakfast."     The location is convenient for town and the station. The cost of the taxi from the station was less than that quoted in the information with the booking!

    The cleanliness of the room left a bit to be desired as it was generally grubby. The bed had also seen better days and the shower leaked. There was an extractor fan from the kitchen that was emitting into the yard and our room was full of the smell of cooking fat at breakfast time everyday.

    Easy walking distance to York City

    Staff very rude when we requested to leave our bags while waiting for checkin. 4pm checkin too late (especially if there is a problem leaving luggage in hotel) Room dirty, rubish on floor, kettle dirty, carpet dirty. Staff not welcoming or friendly and ranged from rude to indifferent. Room not serviced on second day other than bins emptied and tea replaced

    Convenient for city. Provided biscuits with room tea basket. Had a bar. Free use of WiFi Friendly and courteous staff.

    Room needed more thorough cleaning. Room quite small. All items were 'tired' - linen was worn, bathroom needed some maintenance. Very limited parking.

    the room in the hotel was newly decorated and clean.

    the main entrance hall to the hotel was poor and in serious need of refurbishment as was the bar and public toilet - which seemed very shabby. the check in was not until 4pm which was not ideal.

    Clean, good location, value for money

    Noise from the cars at night on the busy road outside kept me up all night. Would be better if breakfast was either included or cheaper.

    Fantastic fresh-feeling large and spacious room for 6 adults. (room 5) Great location approx 15 mins walk from centre.

    Self check in and check out machine is quick and useful but lacks the personal touch. It would be possible to stay for a long time without actually seeing a member of staff.

    Booking system was good, but as that had nothing to do with Blossoms itself you would expect it to be.

    Room - dirty on arrival and not serviced during stay, zero sound insulation, small, poorly/basically equipped Staff - check in staff adequate. Appalling response to complaint. Breakfast - no vegetarian option as was stated, unknowledgeable staff, poor selection, watered down milk, economy products (relative to cost of stay), room tired/out of date/dirty, service not good, food unappealing given that much made of choice of local produce. Parking - insufficient for number of guests Main reason for poor rating - our room was in the annex, initially considered to be good. However, it was unfortunately next door to a staff room. You would expect a staff room to be quiet given that paying guests are next door. Unfortunately not the case; we were woken by a violent arguement early on Saturday. On complaining to reception we were advised that the lady shouting loudest in the room was the "complicated" partner of the staff member living there. Irrespective of who she is, it was unacceptable. Overall - would never be able to recommend to anyone; overpriced, not reflective of advertising, poor standard even when taking into account the generally higher costs of York hotels and ultimately severe lack of care for customers.

    Good location in town, and parking .

    Unreasonably small rooms. Terrible sanitary condition: dried feces remains in the toilet when checking in, unflushed urine with toilet paper in the toilet in the other room (evidence that the toilet had not been cleaned after the previous guests had left). Dirty linen, missing towels. No one at the reception on Sunday early in the evening. Allocating just one key per room when there is a danger of staying stuck outside with no one to open the door.... And I probably forgot half of the points

    "It's a nice hotel and my mother and I had a lovely time 3 years ago. It was a bit of a disappointment to see things had changed for the worse. In my opinion you should employ more staff; defintely someone in charge for room service." (107308584)

    Staff was very nice and willing to help although visibly overloaded with too many tasks to performance at the same time.

    The room was not vacuum cleaned, the beds were done after 5 PM the first day and not at all the second day! The bin was not replaced in 3 days!!

    I am a retired airline manager and this was one of the worst hotels I have stayed at anywhere.

    I was shown the twin room reserved on the fourth or attic floor that workmem were still working on it was a shambles so reverted to room 14 and my son and partner were in room 16

    Friendly and welcoming staff.

    The only criticism I have is that there were no towells or coffee or tea in my room. The remote control on the TV also didn't work. Other than those minor things, it was fine. Staff seemed a little bit too rushed off their feet at times.

    66 stairs from ground floor, 80 from breakfast to my room, I am a 73 year old with heart problems. Next time I will book by 'phone to ensure a lower floor.

    Very kind personnel - any objections; good location of the hotel

    Not satisfied cleanliness of room, particularly bathroom (floor, toilet, shower!) Location of the room is very disapoiting (in the back of the building, view from the window - none)

    Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower appeared to be reasonably clean and bed linen was clean. Good location.

    Hallway, carpets, stairs and rooms generally are a bit grubby. Poor quality furniture in rooms, cheap bedlined, stains on headboard and beds not made up very well.

    The young man who was on reception, running the bar and organising breakfast was pleasant, helpful and remained cheerful throughout the weekend. The breakfast was good and the rooms not enormous but quite comfortable.

    We needed more pillows, other than that we did not really have any bad points.
