    "ideal for what we wanted really for a one night 'event' stay - would actually recommend except would state that wanted to pre book room idael in sandringham(main hotel) or definately a rooms 1-5 only in ML " (108772148)

    staff very helpful ,breakfast service efficient and good value

    NO LIFT ...We were in the highest room (9) we counted 102 steps (going up felt like 1009 - and we are fairly fit individuals) coming down definatly better ...we felt that this was not totally evident on booking and feel that for anyone with even a small limit of reduced mobility would of 'struggled' - also wasnt a massive problem as only staying for one night but main reception for booking in/out and eating area in hotel across road

    "We all agreed that it was slightly overpriced as the showering facilities were very poor. But the location was so great that we can understand the price. It was good enough for a groop of very drunk adults but im not sure a couple on holiday would have felt the same" (108507865)

    Fantastic location! We drank far to much & didnt have to stumble far back to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful

    Clean and comfortable bed (one of the key features of a hotel) Very close to bus and station station Plenty of nice pubs around

    No breakfast facility in-house which could not be seen from the homepage. Very steep stair case (not a problem for us, but...)

    Staff were friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel was central.

    The booking procedure was misleading, the graphics displayed a twin room this was not the case, although the booking confirmation states it was a double room the graphics used by the booking company state otherwise.The hotel could not offer any other room on the date and therefore the accommodation was not as booked, also the location of the room was ridiculous at least 7 flights of stairs to reach a room that was tiny.This is not a complaint directed at the hotel staff or indeed the hotel but aimed towards the booking website that offered three star accommodation(????) for a much better price than any of the actual three star hotels in Cardiff, there is no way on earth anyone has awarded that room 3 stars.

    "A HUNDRED POUNDS FOR AN OVERNIGHT STAY IN THIS HOTEL REPRESENTED VERY POOR VALUE." (107446486)

    Hotel Staff were very good.

    Room was old fashioned,had no double glazing and was basin in the bathroom was blocked. It took about 15 minutes for basin to empty each time we used it.

    we were lucky as we were staying in room 2.only 45 steps!!!

    my sister was in room 8 which was 100 steps,she wouldnt stay in that room again.

    Breakfast - fresh fruit salad and eggs were good.

    Shower door leaked a lot. Noisy. Shouting voices from the street all night Narrow, steep stairs to climb. Dozens of cigarette butts on the window ledge.

    Centrally located, big room.

    Noisy surroundings as on main street with lots of pubs. - Though it was a non-smoking hotel, the room smelled of smoke and there were lots of cigarette butts on the window sill.

    "Glad it was only for one night, however the full English breakfast at the main Sandringham Hotel was excellent, I'm staying there next time" (107858681)

    No heating working in room, black mould on curtains and in bathroom,carpet dirty with black staines,headboard on bed hanging off,continual drone of machinery from somewhere in hotel.

    room vibrated due to faulty equipment decor unfinished bed uncomfortable lack of channels on tv - not even freeview no porter / staff on this part of the site room very hot, but couldnt open window due to smell from the chicken fast food outlet downstairs no lifts and small narrow staircases - with no porter

    reception were helpfull, location was brilliant.

    this place is a fire hazard, no clear escape route, only water fire extinguishers. would not stay there again for this reason
