  nice room, located near things to see

  expensive restaurant, but there is competition on the other side of the parking lot

  "We travelled out of season, the menu is a bit restrictive at this time but I am sure that the food offered would suit most people and you must try the local dishes! The food was excellent. We were delighted with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room. Large bed, tea and coffee making facilities and a large room. The hotel location is superb for accessing all there is to see around lake Myvatn and the manager pointed out the location of sightseeing points. The staff even arranged for us to be called to view the northern lights - in the middle of the night (they did ask us if we wanted to before)." (97525166)

  The Icelandic people are very friendly and at this hotel we were most impressed. The service was excellent and the location fantastic as Myvatn has so much to see. Fantastic view from our bedroom of the Lake and every facility in the room itself.

  "The room was of adequate size with good quality furnishings and equipment but a shortage of drawer space and only five coat hangers (a number that seems to be the law for hotels in Iceland). Although we had requested that there should be no feathers in the room (due to an allergy) there were feather pillows. These were removed promptly and without fuss, but it would have been better if they had been removed well before our arrival. The sulphurous smell (typical of Iceland) from the hot water was much stronger than in other areas and quite overpowering. Not much the hotel can do about this. Staff were efficient, smart, friendly and helpful. The hotel is easy to find but you don't know that when you book, so a simple location sketch map might have given some reassurance. Sample menus and prices would also have helped at the booking stage." (3304381456)
