    Friendly yet efficient staff, Lovely room and bonus of bay window facing prom. Excellent restaurant

    Unfortunately the outside door was beside my room and with it being so heavy, it banged very loudly every time someone came i at night which initially woke me up and then kept me awakwe in what was a very comfortable bed. Also the shower room /toilet was really small and was just adequate since I was on my own

    Very friendly, helpful staff. Superb breakfast. Good selection of toiletries and twinkle lit ceiling in the shower room, which avoided use of fan during visits to toilet during the night.Excellent location, with regard to site of Conference Centre.

    Bulbs missing, or not working, in main ceiling light fitting. I had to ask for napkins at breakfast, on both mornings, should be routinely provided.Had a real problem getting the curtains to close, had to stand on a chair. Also, one curtain was not fully attached to curtain rail.

    "WE enjoyed our stay although we only used the hotel for bed and breakfast and explored southport and surrounding area during the day and into the evening,wonderful part of the country!" (107546239)

    Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean. Good selection of breakfast food.

    Room was small and quite dark as the window faced onto a nearby wall. We stayed two nights and on the morning we were leaving there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room which must have been coming from outside, couldn't work out from where,it was very unpleasant, in hindsight we should have mentioned it to someone but forgot as it had gone by the time we left.

    Food was excellent. Dining room very good. Staff very friendly

    Smell of stale water in room. Very cramped room and bathroom. Very cold in dining rooom. booked online with Amex, when we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they were about to let the room as they don't take Amex and couldn't contact us to confirm the booking, even though we had a email confirmation from Active hotels

    Very friendly staff, excellent meal and breakfast, very clean, excellent situation good views.

    No shampoo or shower gel, single beds very hard,no bedside lamps. Double bed was of type that flips up and back into cupboard very creaky, large cupboard containing microwave, sink and fridge etc room was more a studio than a bedroom.

    Nice location - pubs, restaurants etc nearby to pass the evening,meet up with friends.Good to have free internet connection. Good choice at breakfast.

    Although the general appearance of the hotel was good we thought our room (No: 1) was a 'liitle tired' and in some need of TLC. The food and staff however were excellant.

    Ceiling - old fashioned and dated poly tiles, the curtains were not hanging correctly, (Hanging off their runners), generally looking tired.

    Excellent service at checkin and free upgrade. Room very comfy with sea-view.

    Not a four star. My friends had a tiny room with tiny bathroom at an expensive rate. I had great family room facilities but expensive. Although the bathroom was family sized, the shower was broken and difficult to work, very frustrating when paying so much. This is a fundamental requirement for any room, expensive or not.

    "I'm working in Southport for the next six months so I have been trying a few of the local hotels. Very low occupancy the week I stayed indeed on the last day I was the only guest. Despite that I was put into the tiny room that other guests have commented upon. They ask for your money up front a sure sign you going to face problems. No wardrobe, your clothes hang over the desk making it impossible to use. The shower room was tiny beyond belief. Hit my head a couple of times. The TV does not even have ITV! Breakfeast does not start until 8 making it impossible for business users. No feedback forms to let people know their issues. Much better options in Southport!" (97083557)

    Excellent food. Good waiting on staff.

    Small en -suite bathroom {Shower actually} Lack of hot water. Shelf required in bathroom. Dirt behind control knobs on shower. Walls had odd marks, needed a wiping. Illumination at bottom of stairs ,very poor. Most important- The fire control panel WAS TURNED OFF.!!!!!

    Breakfast was absolutely brilliant, no problems there. As we were both disabled the help that we received was very good and all the staff couldnt do enough for us, especially at meal times.

    The toaster certainly was very slow but otherwise it was a very enjoyable 7 day break

    "This hotel was ok for an overnight stay and great value for money. The room was very cramped and lampshades could have done with a dust. The bathroom, although it had a mouldy smell, was very clean and the sheets and comfort of the bed was very good. One point to note - as a single female traveller, I did not feel very safe being on the ground floor near one of the main entrance/exit doors.     the bathroom was very smelley and as a single female traveller I did not feel at all safe as I was on the ground floor next to the main entrance plus there was no extra security lock on the inside of the door. Also the lampshade were very dusty and there was this awful dusty old basket thing on the bathroom shelf that was broken and did not really serve a purpose.

    "The staff's friendliness and assistance was great. They helped us find a good deal for a local meal and nothing was too much for them. Hotel restaurant was nicely laid out. My hotel bedroom was lovely (four poster bed and spa bath). Had booked deluxe room which hotel advert suggested had sea view. Mine had no view at all but fortunatley it was made up for by the quality of the bed and spa bath but it was not a big room which the deluxe advert suggested and from outside of hotel deluxe rooms upstairs appeared to be.     Room facilities and restaurant (for breakfast) are excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Car parking is at a premium in Southport but this hotel has its own - which is good news for visitors.

    Bedroom and bathroom are a little small. Restaurant does not open on Monday evening.

    "For two nights over our Conference weekend all was in place on arrival and we could get on with the the sessions at the Conference Centre without any problems of access. Breakfasts were well cooked and served pleasantly. Very well situated for the Conference Centre but not one of the cheaper deals so the poor mattresses and lack of refinements like Freeview or matching cups and saucers, slightly disappointing."     Groundfloor, good access, working shower and keys for both of us. Twin beds as asked. Drinks, shower caps, soap and shower gel all good plus hanging space, hangers and good drawer space. Excellent for the Floral Hall

    Mattress not comfortable for an older back. Basin too close to toilet. TV aerial not connected and Freeview not working at all. No shaving plug and access to power a little limited. Plate for a saucer.

    Cramped and very hot. Room only big enough for single bed; the double bed left barely room to move. Bathroom surfaces were 'hot to touch' - must be above kitchen vent or something.

    It was pleasantly presented with all the adequate facilities and more. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable with little added extras ie. drinking water, sewing kit, liquid soap, shower gel etc It had TV, DVD player freeview and coffee and tea facilities. The breakfast was also very good with a great choice well cooked and presented.

    The only complaint would be that there was not adequate hanging facilities for clothes if you had been staying any length of time. It was sufficient for us as we were only there one night but there was only an open hanging rail which meant clothes were on show. There was however a large cupboard which would have made an ideal wardrobe but housed a self sufficient kitchen? One more point I would make is that the windows were covered in condensation and although we had a sea view it could not be fully appreciated because of this. We were unable to open the window to clear it as they had secondary double glazing and could not be opened. This may not be a problem in the summer months but it is a big problem in cold weather.

    It was very clean and the staff were very pleasant. It was a short walk away from the main night live in Southport and is ideal for people who want to stay in the area after a night out rather than travel home.
