    Quiet location amongst lovely scenery

    Receptionist was having a private conversation on phone when we were booking out and kept the conversation going for about 1 minute whilst we were waiting to sign off. No acknowledgement of our presence was made.

    The hotel was further away from where I was going than stated on the website and also up a very steep hill which resulted in us needing a taxi, rather than being able to walk.

    Clean and tidy room, nicely decorated

    Cleaning staff tended to gather outside my room (3) for their morning laugh and joke which disturbed my working environment (I was displaying the do not disturb sign so maybe they should have noticed this?)

    Nice decor and location. All seemed clean and well cared for. The staff were friendly and helpful.

    The breakfast was a bit lack lustre - as are most buffet style offerings. The cofee was lukewarm - a common but very annoying issue. The breakfast staff did not bother to remove emprty plates - they need telling.

    Food was very good.

    No cash purchases allowed in the bar in late evening was inconvenient. Television in room was useless. I was glad I did not need to use it. Early morning check out (6.45)was not feasible.

    check out took over 20 mins as I wanted to check out before 7am when the reception was not manned. It meant that there was no point in me having got up early at all

    Clean room, comfortable bed and very pleasant staff.

    Poor hot water flow in handbasin. As a woman, the positioning of mirrors and the lighting was inadequate to put make-up on; however this is typical of so many hotels.

    Good care taken of me by Reception and Dining Room Staff - very good chamber maid service. Food very good but unvarying menu.

    No kettle in bedroom on arrival - one soon brought to me by Reptionist - but power lead was loose and needed s milk sachet under it to make contact. I did not report this so hotel had no chance to rectify it. On arrival,I was not expected as I had cancelled my initial booking and rebooked and junior receptionist had not read your documents in the right order, so took my cacellation to apply to the second booking. Senior recetionist soon sorted things out.

    Nice surroundings; nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Excellent food.

    Restaurant expensive but captive audience as so remote, leaves a feeling of being ripped off! [Food is excellent though]. Staff not as attentive as they could have been.

    the staff are very polite and friendly, the rooms are clean n tidy overall a very plesant stay

    if your tall the beds are very small as my partner is over 6 foot tall so he found it very difficult and had to sleep corner to corner to fit

    Presentation - accomodation of staff - breakfast - price - all recommended for price.

    None-other than first room had a window which would not close so was quite drafty - staff immediately swapped our room.

    Everyone was friendly - sometimes inexperienced, but still friendly. Hotel is located in a peaceful location which is important when you stay in hotels so frequently.

    The stunning views, plenty of parking and good breakfast.

    Being in a room in close proximity to a boiler and unable to sleep all night due to the constant noise. Not having my request to be in an adjacent room to other members of my family met.

    "Lovely sunny day but only one bench / table outside at which to sit. As this was occupied by smokers we had to go for walk. otherwise we would have spent money at the Hotel on drinks. Room was adequate but dark wooden ceilings did nothing for the ambiance." (107201974)

    Room was warm, quiet and with a pleasant aspect

    Confirmation was not forwarded to Hotel. As a result the room "booked" was not available. When offered a room with two single beds, as opposed to a twin, this was declined. Suddenly a twin room became available if we could wait 1/2 hour. This turned out to be twins pushed together - I was not fooled.

    They had no record of our booking via the internet - luckily I had a full copy of our booking and they had space, and they quickly resolved the situation

    "This hotel was ideally suited and situated for our needs as we wanted somewhere close to Huddersfield, but also somewhere peaceful, tranquil and of a high standard. This Hotel did not disappoint! We did not expect a four poster bed, or complimentary Sherry, or such pleasant and helpful staff. We will definately be staying here again!" (97057557)

    One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The rooms were very comfortable with good attention to detail. The food was superb and all staff were courteous and friendly. A beautiful place to stay.

    The fact that we only stayed there one night!

    Location and breakfast menu.

    Size of room. Room too near late function, too much noise late into the early hours of the morning. DJ when leaving function shouting across the car park, possibly to hotel staff.

    "room very small, very dim lighting, en-suite old and small, did not stay full two nights booked. not as I had read on web site, needs updateing, should have been told it was open to the public and they had first choice in the restaurant and bar.     Clean warm room with a very comfortable bed

    Second day the room was not serviced untill I complained it was then sorted out straight away
