    Lovely hotel and good central location.

    There seems to be a hostal nearby with an undesireable clintelle. Security could have been better to avoid them hanging around the outside smoking area.

    La fachada del hotel es bonita, el personal educado

    La entrada a los apartamentos se realiza por la puerta de servicio, que da acceso a las cocinas y a las basuras. Estas se encuentran depositadas delante del acceso y las ventanas dan a este pasillo interior, con los ruidos y olores de las cocinas. Nada recomendable, si se desea descansar por la noche.

    Direct bus from airport to hotel. Literally stops outside the hotels door and only 5 euro each. Central location of hotel.

    "We were very disappointed to arrive back at the hotel on Saturday at 5pm to be told by two members of staff that they were unable to accomodate us for an evening meal at any point that evening as they were busy with Christmas parties. We told them that we were willing to sit in the bar or anywhere they could accomodate us but they had already filled the bar with the Christmas party bookings and were not offered any alternative. Either there should be a provision for hotel residents to eat in the evening or guests should be asked to stipulate that they would like to eat at the hotel when checking in." (97157755)

    Great central location. Rooms were large. Lovely restaurant

    Can hear the noisy street throughout the night (central location). Unable to provide an evening meal on Saturday.

    The Hotel Isaacs was in a great location and has a lot of character. I liked the unusual set up of the room with a raised bed platform. We had a wonderful time.

    Unfortunately positioned near the air-con cooler fans with the subsequent noise inhibiting the opening of the window at night.

    Low-key, simple, classy, comfortable, easily accessible.

    Glass block wall into corridor not a good idea. It allows corridor noises to invade the room. Not fun in the wee hours.

    Very convenient to the city center, first class evening meal, most enjoyable to sit beside the waterfall after our meal. I was pleasantly surprized how easy it was to drive to the hotel and to get back on the road to cork.

    I did not like having to park my car in the public car park, although I must admit it ws not a great distance from the hotel.

    "the hotel was a very busy road especially in the early hours of the night,was a little difficult to get to sleep.the hotels surprise feature was the lovely passage way with the waterfall we sat outside and it was very pleasant. The room was clean but i felt it needed a little bit of t.l.c. and extra good clean, bedding was very clean." (99090856)

    "I knew this was a good hotel, as I used to work in travel and we used to feature it as one of our 'Little Gem' hotels. The location was excellent with good connections by rail or bus. The restaurant food was excellent (but I would advise booking a table as soon as you check in as it was very busy over the weekend). The staff were all very helpful and obliging.     We got upgraded to an Executive room,which was nice as it was our Wedding Anniversary & it had extras like hairdryer and iron.

    The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel was in the centre of town really close to main shopping area.

    The hotel was quite clean but I felt it needed updating in decor and fixtures.

    "The Hotel was in a great spot and had great atmosphere, the staff were friendly but were not sure about the car parking, When I booked it said free car parking, but when we arrived there was no room left so we had to park the car in another spot, which no one told us would cost extra after 12 the next day, we then parked in the hotel car park for the next day but they told us it was in the church court yard, turns out there are 2 of these and we had the wrong one. Apart from all of this the hotel was good." (3305102931)

    The location was great and the atmosphere of the hotel was warm and friendly

    I would have liked to book an apartment but didn't realise they were available, the internet did not cater for this, I booked 2 rooms instead and realised when I arrived that there were also apartments

    "First there is one useful thing to note. There are two restaurants, one with the same name as the hotel is not part of the hotel even though it is physically attached to it. Greene's is the hotel restaurant and provides excellent food and as in most places that we visited in Ireland had an 'Early Bird Menu'. In the case of Greene's this consisted of a 3-course meal for 26 euro and was of an excellent quality. Hotel Isaacs is conveniently situated near one of the main branches of the River Lee and a short walk from a main shopping area. Access to the hotel from Cork City Airport was very easy because there is a 'Skylink' shuttle bus which stops outside the door. By the way the new terminal at the airport currently used only for arrivals is excellent. We had our luggage in our hands not much more than 10 minutes after landing. In summary we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Isaacs but were disappointed with our room on the second night." (3304960128)

    I must preface my remarks: we stayed here on two different nights. The first we booked through Active Hotels and our room was good and good value for money. The staff are all excellent although their command of English was somewhat limited in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the experience of eating BBQ outside by the beautiful waterfall was great. They even provided heating when the temperature dropped. They also have awnings which protect from drizzle or spray.

    The second night was not so good. More expensive for an inferior room. The bathroom was in a sorry state of repair and when using the shower a large puddle formed on the floor outside the bath.

    Nothing, but the resrurant was superb, great food, if not a bit over priced.

    Room was old and very basic. Non existant wireless internet was auful in the room, which made it difficult to get any thing done.

    "Loved parts of Cork. The welcome and people are great. The theatre was a good crack and Issacs Restaurant is out of this world. Receptionist was very helpful and professional." (3304534314)

    Access to Cork amenities. The style was good and the Issacs Restaurant at the front was superb.

    Greens Restaurant was poor and a visit not to repeat. The room was rather dusty but overall a good room. The landing had a fold up single bed obviously taken from one of the rooms during cleaning but it was on the landing for over a day and had a stained mattress, which was rather unpleasant.

    "The hotel is very central and not far to walk from the bus station were the bus from the airport gets in. The rooms are a good size and clean although too hot for us. When you open the windows the noise from the road is noticable at night. The staff are lovely and the receptionist was very knowledgeable about local bars with traditional music etc. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone." (3304426295)

    The accomodation was comfortable, the food excellent and the staff and service friendly and welcoming - overall a very pleasant stay.

    The room was too hot and the radiator too close to the bed. The pillows are like stones - really hard!

    "This is a nice place to stay. The hotel combines a restaurant (not used, but apparently very popular) with a lively bar, and the hotel itself. Staff were efficient whilst very informal.     "It is a petty that such a good hotel would have such a bad isolation, making the general result poor due to this being a very good and atractive hotel. I would not recommend this hotel, being really one of the most pleasant ones I have ever been unless isolation issues would be solved (and believe me that I am not a maniac of the noise)."     The room was wonderful, very big an confortable

    Inappripriate isolation of the room from the street noise during the night. This make us not being allow to sleep and waking up a lot of times.The staff was not very much friendly (except the lady that received us the first day that was the opposite, really a wonderfull professional), or at leas it was perceived in this way.

    spotless clean double room, seperate study area to carry on with office work, lots of hot water in the bath shower room

    Waterfall was a great feature but being woken up by it springing back to life at 6 am was not. Rather noisy kitchen extractor system. Maybe bathroom heating needs improving as initialy rather cold without permanent heat source. (Wall mounted fan heater)

    "Excellent staff. The shower was broken and they had no one to fix it; they did, however, offer us a room at the hotel across the street for the same rate we paid with them. Maintenance man did not get there on time in the morning and we didn't get the wake-up call we ordered. The staff was brilliant; they got the restaurant to cook us breakfast at a later time, and helped us with instructions when our car was towed away. Not the best experience, but not really much of the fault was the hotel's. Would recommend to others and stay again myself...just check all the equipment when you check in...showers, sinks, telephones, etc. Staff made up for all of the mishaps and then some." (3304289455)

    Free upgrade to an apartment upon checking in!

    There were no maintenance staff on at the hotel, and our shower was broken. It would have been nice if they'd had someone on who could've helped us with that.
