    lovely friendly and very helpful staff, room and ensuite very clean and we liked the shampoo. Close proximity to pretty villaage with good facilities and NEC just 5 mins away suited us.

    Ensuite a bit dated, trouser press did not work very well at all. Unfortunately walls very thin and the room next door very loud indeed. Breakfast cleared away at 10 to 9 and although made to feel as if anything could be ordered it was a bit awkward for us.

    pleasant staff and ok as a hotel, breakfast fresh and good

    room was not vacumed during our 3 night stay, tv is too small and antiquated design, pathetic choice of channels, smoking rooms not made available, too far to walk to outside to smoke and no shelter.

    Well maintained and clean room. Restaurant breakfast excellent

    Internet booking was with Active Hotels not Strawberry Bank direct. The internet booking was not received by the hotel but they managed to sort out a room for us. A thumbs down for Active booking service.

    "Stayed here in Sept 08 and highly recommend it.Once decor updated it will be the best hotel in Birmingham, good food, rooms, v clean, staff v friendly, v nice setting and only 7 mins from NEC." (107209877)

    food excellent, cleanliness excellent, staff very friendly, very WARM, only negative point is that the decor does need updating, it is very out of date. If action was taken on this it would leave the other big hotels in the area way below them. Highly recommend it.

    Only that it needs updating, pink wall, curtains, etc.

    Would have liked more local information of surrounding area/directions/local facilities. Greater explanation of the online check-in process would be beneficial.

    "Light airy well equiped room. Clean and warm. The reception staff were more than welcoming. Chatty and very professional also the food was lovely along with the kitchen staff. fantastic will come again and pass on to family and friends that visit the NEC often.     "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Strawberry Bank Hotel, the booking process through to checking out was excellent. The staff were very friendly and informative about the area and services.     All of the staff were exceptionally friendly throughout our stay and this made our visit especially enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel. It is also on bus routes into the NEC and city which saves taxis, etc.

    The restaurant staff were also always eager to please and the food was fresh and promptly served. If I had to find something that could improve it would be maybe the mnenu could be made a little more contemporary?

    "It was very close to the NEC and easy to find. For a one night stay it was more than adequate, though I have slept in more comfortable beds! The staff were very friendly." (97631224)

    Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very good cooked breakfast and the room was overall very comfy.

    The radiator in the room was not on and it was quite a chilly night. The mattress was very hard and I could feel the springs. The shower was quite difficult to use as it would not change into the bath mode so I had to run a bath via the shower head.
