The view of the grounds from the room, also to be able to open the windows, which you cannot do in a lot of hotels nowadays.

"We throughly enjoyed our stay and will no doubt be back! The restaurant food was excellent. The entire staff are a great asset as nothing was too much trouble." (2280955)

"Pleasant, lovely peaceful surroundings. However, if I book in the future, I will be checking to see if there are any major functions booked first as there was nowhere to escape the noise & have a quiet drink before or after dinner." (108223439)
Some restaurant staff seemed lacking in knowledge regarding terminology. Also, I would have expected to eat fish with fish cutlery, maybe that is considered "old fashioned" now.
