    Staff very friendly and helpful

    The bed was unmade in the first room I was given and I did notice that the mattress protector had a rather unpleasant stain on it - I complained and was subsequently given another room and a free drink with my dinner. The receptionist was most helpful.

    "Adequate for the purpose. I have stayed in this hotel many times in the past and have been satisfied with the accommodation, but this time I noticed a distinct lowering of the standards with regard to room cleanliness." (107689718)

    The hotel is quite picturesque from the outside and in a good location on the high street.

    The dining room could not provide a meal despite being told they would be able to only 1/2 hour earlier, not to worry we had a nice meal at a pleasant Italian restaurant round the corner. The toilet roll holder was not fixed to the wall and fell off when used. I always find it disappointing when in double rooms you only get 3 tea bags, if you want a second cup are we expected to fight over the remaining one. picky I know but it's the attention to the details which really make the difference. Breakfast could have been better for the money, no fruit/croissants etc, which would have been nice in the really hot weather we had- not everyone wants bacon saussage etc.

    tired room decor, shabby bathroom (1980s tiles, dirty shower curtain, missing grout, cobwebs, £3.50 toilet seat etc etc), sound proofing, no real coffee at breakfast!!!

    Car park always full on return from work and I found the "Older" accommodation, although more spacious, was not up to the standard of the "New block".

    Room smelt of "shake and vac" or something similar. Shower difficult to adjust. Television was small, old fashioned and picture just adequate.

    The staff were really helpful and helped our party to enjoy themselves.

    The food was reasonable except that the two enormous plates (for six people) was A. too much, and B. more importantly, too plain. Just boiled with no other sauces or treatment such as sautee etc.

    Use of Spa facility Quiet

    Poor bathroom - stained shower curtain, thin towels. No decaf teabags or herbal tea. Very slow kettle. TV came on incredibly loudly, even when I turned the loudness down.

    Comfortable bed. Good Power Shower. Good sized room.

    Bathroom in need of decoration. Walls very thin so a lot of noise when other guests arrive late and get up early. My friend & I were given rooms on different floors - why?

    Nice clean friendly hotel

    Shaver point did not work. Adapter provided had blown fuse. For steak chips and veg meal Steak and veg were good but the chips were a mis representation as only 6 chip rings were provided.

    Spacious room, very quiet.

    There was a fire alarm at approx 1.00am. Everyone went to reception where, in my view (and half asleep), the person on reception made liitle attempt to inform of us what was happening or where to go. Not very reassuring and thank goodness there was no fire !

    The walls were too thin and consequently noise made by guests (loud conversation and banging doors) in the next room at 1am - 2am meant we had a disturbed nights sleep.

    It is in a very central location and has lovely gardens.

    The room was supposed to be non-smoking but had a very strong cigarette smell. I also found that the thermostat on the shower did not work very well.

    "Great location and parking. Reasonably priced. Large bedroom. Decor rather dated and tired looking. Bathroom tiny and very dated but perfectly adequate. Staff very helpful and cheerful. The food in this hotel is best avoided. The breakfast was self service and best avoided. Horrible stewed coffee, mediocre cooked breakfast looked very tired and lukewarm. Cheap sausages etc. Fortunately, lots of good places to eat in the village, of a much higher standard." (97453358)
