    "did not spend much time at hotel but was sufficent for our needs . The bed was very soft and as I have a bad back slept the last night on the floor.Staff very good and friendly." (107768032)

    "i think the stay was pleasant enough and the staff helpful; but the room, especially the bathroom was shower only, a little cramped, the TV small and only 4 channels; the view was great and changed regularly with the tide! the bar service was a bit pedestrian but overall it was not a bad place to stay; if i went back I would consider it but then again might try somewhere else."     lovely position on sea front

    "The decoration was very dated, I doubt that it had seen a coat of paint in 20 years, the bathroom was very out-moded. There were no hairdryer or ironing board in the room, which in this day and age is very unusual. The staff were all very helpful and efficient and could not be faulted.     "We were surprised that the Hotel did not have specific rooms for smoking guests. As non-smokers, we were disappointed that the general lounge area, where the kids could watch TV, also appeared to be a designated smoking area." (3304365014)

    Location was convenient for walking into St. Helier, and close to other amenities etc. Hotel also had indoor swimming pool which was great.Staff were friendly and helpful.

    The Hotel did not differentiate between smoking and non-smoking rooms, and our room had a constant smell of cigarettes!!!! Also, some of the furniture needed replacing as it was worn and looked drab.

    "This is the second time that we have stayed at your Hotel. We first visited on a package with Wallace Arnold. We decided to visit Jersey this year and did not look for any other accomodation and chose your Hotel as we were very satisfied when we last stayed in Jersey.     "I very much enjoyed my stay at the Fort d'Auvergne Hotel in St. Helier. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. They assisted me with tour bookings and transportation needs and were always very pleasant. The setting of the hotel on the Havre de Pas waterfront is wonderful and access to the main part of town, with shops and restaurants, was suitable as well - about a 15 minute walk. I would definitely consider staying at this property again if visiting Jersey again in the future." (3304686246)

    The location of the property and the ocean view from my room. Also the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast service was quite good as well - a generous buffet.

    The room was somewhat dated in decor and the shower was quite small but otherwise the room was fine.

    "I really liked the hotel, very much and was happy with the standards of the hotel. It was clean and tidy. I found the staff to be excellent. Especially the breakfast waiters and the reception staff. The food was very nice and the manner in which I was treated was impecable. As a lone traveller visiting friends on the Island, I was never made to feel vunerable or arkward. Unfortunately the room, despite it's wonderful view, and cleanliness, tarnished all of the above positive aspects. I slept very badly due to squeeky floorboards and bed and could not relax fully, which was the intention of my holiday." (3304262713)

    Thr hotel was clean and well run and I found the staff to be extremely kind and helpful.

    Unfortunately the beds were creaky and the floors also. I could not relax due to always being disturbed by the other guests moving around above me and from both next door rooms. I was woken every morning at 7am and many times throughout the night!

    "Our stay at the fort d'Auveregne Hotel in Jersey was very enjoyable. The views from our hotel bedroom were spectacular. The hotel bedroom was a little small but the sea views from the room made up for that. The bathroom in the room was very clean and fresh. We had asked for a room with a shower rather than a bath and the shower room was excellent. The television was placed too high up on the wall to view it comfortably. The food in the hotel was excellent with a choice of continental or full english breakfast. The staff in the dining room couldn't do enough for you, coming back at regular periods to ask if you wanted more tea, coffee or toast. We were on bed and breakfast only, but the first night we arrived we did have our evening meal in the restaurant, this was excellent value for money with 5 courses for " (3304201216)

    the views were spectacular from the bedrooom, the accommodation was very comfortable and the en suite bathroom was very clean and fresh

    the hotel bedroom was a little small and the television was too high up on the wall to view it comfortably.

    "The web site showed a room with a balcony, we were under the impression that we ordered what we saw having paid the only supplement shown for a sea view. The bar area was too hot with radiators that could not be turned down.Insufficient seating, with the music area badly placed. Bar and bar service good." (2669472)

    The rooms are too small, and below the standard expected in 2005. Old bed and bed coverings, no shower mixer, old fashioned decor.

    "I would like it to have been made much clearer on the website that a room with a sea view does not necessarily mean it has a balcony. Our room looked straight up the Havre des Pas, a sea view yes, but not quite what we had anticipated. The Fort d'Auvergne was very good value for money, comfortable and well placed for accessing and exiting St Helier. The staff were curteous and helpful at all times. The meals were very good."     Position of the Hotel and efficiency of the staff. Friendly atmosphere.

    Duvets instead of sheet and blanket. Room was a little chilly first thing in the morning.

    "Would have booked half board if I'd known how good the meals were going to be. Have rarely had such good service from staff. These were quick and attentive and altogether helpful — in reception, restaurant and room cleaning alike. The room, furnishings and bathroom were satisfactory - not brilliant but quite OK. We had the beach view. The sea view rooms would have been better, quieter and nearer the lift. A good hotel in a pleasant location." (2153497)

    Very good breakfasts. Excellent dinners, with good, varied, changing menu, at reasonable cost. Excellent service from well-trained, attentive staff.

    We had a room with sea view + terras with chairs. Wonderfull. We booked bed and breakfast. One evening, we did take dinner. Price/quality e-rate was exellent.

    We did try to book a 2nd time for dinner. We did try this around 3pm. The reception said that the restaurant was full. I had the impression that it was not really full, but that we were rather too late to book a table. They should have mentionned this as a reason.

    The staff were very friendly and helpful

    There was a lot of noise from the adjoining rooms toilet flushing and snoring and tv's. The shower wasn't very good. would prefer duvets on the beds and they could have been bigger

    Sea-front position,but only 10 minutes to town centre ,friendly staff,good breakfasts.

    Friday & Saturday evening meals good but Sunday(no chef)not so good,no on-site parking so have to hunt for a parking spot.Mini heat wave meant that bedrooms were like saunas(no air-con).

    "Situated a little way out of St Helier, but only a 10 minute walk. No parking at the hotel, therefore you had to park in a public car park, this was only a 5 minute walk so not too much of a problem. A couple of bistros in short walking distance, Roseville Bistro to be recommended." (1844393)

    "I was rather disappointed to find another guest sitting on the sun terrace right outside my door, although he did move away. The walk into town was not particularly pleasant, and I later discovered that the bus I wanted to take me to Samares Manor stopped outside the Hotel so I could have just crossed the road and got on the bus! As my stay was for only three nights, I did not have long enough to see as much of the island as I would have liked, so I think I will probably come back to Jersey again. The weather was excellent, despite all the predictions of rain. A very enjoyable break!!" (2328775)

    Really liked the position & having a sea view

    Patterned carpet really old fashioned looking. Would have liked larger selection of prepared fruit & yoghourt for breakfast Walls and floors allowed sound to travel easily.

    flexibility of staff..., the terrace could not be used really (for lunch, breakfast etc. this is a pity. missing parking lots are a real disadvantage of your hotel

    "we booked as B&B but had an evening meal on 3 nights but we were never given a decent table near the front of hotel (sea view) we were given different tables every time (not good ones) stuck by the back" (1883488)

    The hotel is in a fabulous position on the sea front

    The decor in the bedroom was very old fashioned and needed updating.
