  "This is a small (65 room) friendly hotel with excellent ambience, good food and outstanding location for access to the beach, local shops, bars and restaurants, with access to the bigger town of Pescara being pretty good plus its accessiblity to the mountains and lakes make it a good area to visit for variety. Pedal cycles were free of charge and with the long promenade can come in handy. A couple of beach craft also were available free of charge. We made the hotel suit our convenience because we booked rooms only to take into account that we needed to be flexible in our routine as we were visiting family with whom we had lots of meals. However, doing it this way be aware that you pay extra for everything - breakfast, lunch , dinner, pool towels, access to pool and beach loungers - so ask about the charges beforehand so that you can assess if a half board option would be more beneficial. In our case it suited us and worked out fine. The beach is golden sand and stretches for miles so you can join the throng of Italian promenaders. The sea is shallow and usually calm in the morning, but do not be surprised to get variable weather as this is a mountainous region and can get rain at any time. The town of Silvi is a summer resort, pretty much closing down between mid Septenber and mid May. Also get into the Italian routine of early morning starts, lunchtime siestas and late evening strolls. Lots of markets happen during the week at the south end of town so if your at Hotel Mion, don't forget to walk down to the other end of town at night." (2349560)

  The bedroom we had was a little sparse but more than adequate and it did have a nice bathroom to compensate.
