    Overall the Hotel was great, staff were friendly and were only too happy to assist with anything.

    Food wasn't the best.

    "The hotel is roughly what you expect of a 3 star hotel, however the staff where some of the most helpful and friendly I have experienced." (107812397)

    The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, everything requested when booking was in place when we arrived.

    A lot of noise from the Amber Bar which has regular bands playing, also the corridors and lifts in some areas where very small and difficult to navigate with a pushchair.

    very narrow corridors on every floor and narrow steps, I thought about that if it would be a firealarm uhhh we had a room for 4 pers. and it was lack of towelhooks The price ofcourse was very high this week, but I understand that´s because of the TT-race,

    Plenty of Tea/Coffee in room. Lots of hot water for shower. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, wide selection. Very reasonable price very central in Douglas.

    Parking isn't good, the room was a small double, the bed a 3/4, but the price was very good.

    "i'm glad that i didnt have my wife with me on this particular trip, had she have been with me i'd have checked us out to find somewhere else at whatever cost. There was no apology for the fire alarm that went off twice in one night, it was apparently a false alarm on both occasions. " (107570426)

    quite a drab, basic hotel, poorly lit room, uncomfortable, noisy, in fact ran quite 'amateurishly' really, certainly will not be staying there on my next visit, i booked it because it was a sleepwell hotel of which i have had good experience, certainly at their hotel in blackpool when we had arranged our annual large group visit, we had no such problems. This place would have been plagued with comments to us as organisers.

    Room always clean & tidy, if a little smaller than the photo on the website. Had an initial problem with the bed my son had to sleep on, but it was fixed on the same day as I notified reception. Would have liked a sea view, but not a major failing.

    None really, although the corridors & bathroom were very narrow (probably due to the hotel's age, rather than anything done by the current operators).

    Friendly helpful staff. Notably the waitresses at breakfast and the Night Porter, who despite the dining room being closed, provided us with toast, butter and jam after we arrived late, wet and very tired.

    Corridors, carpets and paintwork grimy. Curtain in room partly hanging off rail - reported but not replaced during stay. Offensive smell of drains from on-suite which disappeared after day 2 or 3 of stay.

    "reasonable stay....fire alarm going off 2 out of the 4 nights was annoying, but realise it was peopel haveing a shower with the door open ( so we were told) but at 3.30 am its a bit much" (97860900)

    Good clean room, excellent restuarant in the Amber lounge, staff well preented, food excellent. Good value for money.

    One waitress in the hotel restuarant, very sullen and made everyhting feel like it was an effort....asking for tea for two was a chore!!! needs some customer service focus

    When we arrived, there was a big mixup with our room but in the end, it worked in our favour as the staff upgraded us to an executive room at no charge.

    "I was looking for a hotel near the town centre with adequate parking nearby. This hotel fulfilled both my requirements. also, the price was extremely competitive, even though it was low season. I would definitely book here again when next I come to Douglas." (97714226)

    Comfortable bed, very spacious room, well set out

    Very poor reception for teevision; however, this was much less important than it would have been if my family had been with me.

    reception staff quite frendly and helpfull room clean

    "Ghastly. The shoulder-width corridors reminded me of a grim social services hostel. The room was small and looked out onto a dirty, pigeon-dropping infested area. There were strange bed runners - not large enough to be a bed cover, which were stained with rather suspicious looking marks. The ensuite was the size of a wardrobe. Very disappointing." (97895582)

    There was no noise from other rooms. The rooms are spacious and are in a good, clean condition.

    Upon arrival, they had no record of our booking, despite an e-mail confirmation and a reference number, they did however find a similar room.

    "Chesterhouse is a lovely large old building on the main Promade in Douglas and close to the town centre. Douglas is served by an excellent bus service throughout the island. Staying at the Chesterhouse hotel puts you in the centre of most island activities and is recommended for both short breaks or longer holidays." (97916496)

    "A traditional hotel upgraded with modern amenities to give a very pleasant stay. The room was small but perfectly adequate with a great en-suite bathroom. The lounge was comfortable with Wi-Fi. An excellent full English breakfast buffet was included and the dining room overlooked Douglas Bay and the sea-front. Staff were friendly and efficient." (97919050)

    Lift failed to stop at our floor ,had to go up and back down. A lot of noise through floors No parking
