    Breakfast, friendliness, clean, room nice, pool facilities

    Room cold and no way to increase (rad seemed to be turned off) reported but no one came. Internet and Films not working, reported but told it was a problem with there supplier and they could do nothing. Could hear allot of room from the corridor.

    the room was very comfortable indeed

    the room was lacking in drawer space if we had stayed say for 5days where would we have stored our clothes, also the bathroom door was very difficult to open (almost impossible)

    Very clean and modern hotel and also very central to all ammenties

    When checking out of the hotel we were charged a much more expensive rate, I had to get my confornmation before the receiption staff would amend the bill.

    "The leisure facilities were good and we had a great time as a family. We enjoyed the shopping and coffee in Starbucks etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We did not spend very much time in the hotel and so the problems with the accomodation mentioned above did not impact significantly on our enjoyment of our weekend but this might not be the case for other residents."     I liked the closeness to leisure facilities, shops and entertainment

    The kettle in the room did not work properly. The room was very dusty. The design of the bath enclosure made it difficult to turn on the taps in the bath and made it difficult to ensure safety for a child's bath. We had breakfast in our room on the second morning and the order was late and several items were missing or the wrong items arrived. The food in the Aspects restaurant was tasty but the hot carvery selection on the Sunday evening was cold by the time we got it to table.

    "The only thing i can say is the food in aspects resturant was awful.There was really nothing on it that we liked,on the starters,and why do you have a charge for a certain type of dish,which incidently everyone seemed to go for because of the lack of choice,i did hear a few complaints from others in the passing.Sorry a big let down,now the breakfast on the other hand was excellent as usual. Our only complaint was aspects resturant ,the menu, it didnt cater for the vast majority,everything else was great.." (97916713)

    Clean and had required facilities

    The breakfast queue was to long. I would prefer waitress service rather than a buffet style breakfast. The central check out was also timely and it would be prefereable to check out in the hotel that we stayed in rather than a central area

    "Facilities are excellent including gym,pool,beauty treatments,shopping,bars and food court.Only let down was the fine dining restaurant which in fact was a buffet and not value for money.Food was nothing special.However,breakfast was excellent." (99702967)

    We booked a double room and were allocated a suite which was fabulous.There was a TV in the sitting room and the bedroom.The bathroom was a good size with seperate bath and shower.Very comfortable.

    "Good for a short break, we went mid week in early January and the hotel was completely deserted, I quite expected Jack Nicholson to pop out yelling 'Here's Johnny'! We were the only customers in the bar on 2 of the 3 nights, so the service was excellent! If you are looking for a lively ski resort this is probably not the hotel for you, the only other disappointing fact is if you are looking for a true Scottish atmosphere with advice on the local area this misses the mark by a long way with most of the staff coming from over seas" (99336700)

    "As I work in the hotel industry I found it an usual Mc Donald Hotel getting as many people as possible into a building! The booking process was quick and efficent. Which made things easy. The check in was shakey though! Maybe they should they put on a receptionist that understands english. It was clean and breakfast was ample. It did get ropey when it got busy at 0930 in which I understand. Many staff didn't understand english. I had the good sense to go for breakfast early which we enjoyed!" (99122838)

    "We had a nice time in Aviemore and the breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The bed was large and the room was well heated. The facilities in the room need upgrading and the way the hotel is laid out means a long chlostraphobic walk to get out of your room." (99951403)

    Central location in Aviemore

    The procedure to check in over the road and have to walk back to the hotel with your cases. The room was not up to scratch. The sink was chipped, the tiling in the bathroom was badly done and looking quite shabby - and our toilet blocked early evening - after maintenance staff had left for the night.

    "The website does not do this hotel justice. The area surrounding the hotel is fantastic with sights that need to be seen. The food served in the restaurants was served with speed and by pleasant members of staff. It is avisable to book dinner though as there are many bus parties who will always make reservations. Although the pool and surrounding area are great, you should be aware that it is very child friendly and always busy with families. With so much to do in surrounding areas of Aviemore, this hotel is in the perfect location. My husband and I will return on a regular basis." (3305180987)

    The accommodation had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel has the greatist respect for its customers and is willing to do all that is necessary to make your stay perfect.

    "Although close to local amenities in Aviemore, the Highland Hotel (part of MacDonald Highland Resort) was very disappointing. On visiting a 3 star hotel on the main street, we would plan to stay there if we return. Having no reception based in the hotel and after ordering room service which took over an hour to arrive, we had doubts about what would have happened if an emergency had occurred." (3304701241)

    The food in the Aspects restaurant was lovely and the service from waiters were excellent.

    The hotel felt like a rabbit warren, with absolutely no character. The rooms were small and very ordinary - we have stayed in much more elaborate 3 star hotels.

    "We had an excellent stay - dining room staff should have extra mention - extremely courteous, polite and efficiently run, although the wait for breakfast could be improved. We arranged to book another night on the morning of our due checking-out date, but when we arrived back at our room in the afternoon, the room had not been prepared - I can only imagine this was due to the fact that there had been no communication to the cleaning staff we were staying an extra night. Also checking-in needs clarified. A lot of guests (including us) thought we would check-in at the hotel we were staying in, but had to double-back to the conference centre. However, these very small points apart, the Aviemore Highland Resort was one of the most comfortable hotels we have stayed in - certainly in the UK and we will be visiting again.     Rooms large and comfortable

    Room temperature - either too hot or too cold. Because key controls the rooms heating and electric - heating not on when in room and can get quite cold.

    Newly refurbished hotel, good leisure facility. Only tried one restaurant but food good and nice decor. Comfortable Bed

    Shower was underpowered but warm. Room more 3 star than 4. Some of the restaurant staff had limited english. Should be a child-free restaurant (maybe just at weekend?)

    "overall stay of this hotel was enjoyable, although when we ordered breakfast in our room items were missing ie. bowl for cereal missing, fresh orange missing. We also had to go to the conceirge to get an order sheet for the following days breakfast, but that wasn't even picked up from our room and we missed breakfast on our second day. we were leaving that day and were pushed for time so we would have prefered breakfast in our room. The cleanliness of the room could also have been better, there was a layer of dust over most the furniture." (2902974)

    at first we were in a room on the ground floor overlooking the carpark. After a quick phone call to reception they moved us to the third floor with a lovely mountain view!

    the lamps in our room hadn't been dusted for some time! and the jacuzzi was out of order.

    better range of restaurants, ie. less formal alacarte menu. cocktail bar could be more lively, some music perhaps.
