    Reception desk is very slow and we waited for approx 15 mins just to book in

    "Because of the location I would stay again by myself. Not suitable for a family vacation. The cost was easily affordable." (108493343)

    Check in was easy at the front desk. Location was GREAT. Lobby was interesting. Staff members were helpful with keeping luggage until check in time.

    The wait for the check in was long. Rooms way to small. No lounge facilities. Internet gave problems.

    Very clean and high quality finish in rooms very close to main shooping area,

    Had to queue over 20 mins to be seated for breakfast not good when you are hungary

    Clean, efficient

    Room was sold as a Deluxe Double but was a very small room. small double bed with one side against wall. When I raised this with reception on check out I was told I must have had a small deluxe room.....as all of the rooms were deluxe..

    great location near west end and oxford street, good restaurant in hotel, price of drink in bar very expensive even by Irish Standards breakfast a la carte also very expensive

    shower door leaking onto floor, no minibar in room, asked for a shower hat, this did not seem to be available

    "Overall the hotel and the room were very nice, comfortable and convenient. The check-in and out gave us the feeling of a very cold business attitude. You did not feel very welcomed. The stuff gave us the facts and did not show any will to do more than that. The location is great." (97318156)

    Comfortable beds, spacious room, good lighting

    No bath, only a shower. Rude and incompetent reception staff.

    "We booked via the internet. Although confirmation of booking was received, this had not appeared on the computer screen on arrival, and it thus caused a slight delay in the booking process. It was lovely to see Rhodes restaurant. We were not aware of this. Also, we did not bring our gym attire - we were not aware that there was a gym at the hotel, although this would have been more relevant if our stay had been longer. Generally, superb hotel and we look forward to coming again on our next visit." (3305238270)

    "The hotel is generally very good, but the reception area is a bit chaotic as there are no information signs - reception, toilets etc. Also, there is no dedicated areas for smokers/non-smokers, thus non-smokers ang guests with young children are left in smoky areas." (3304418772)

    It was clean and functional

    Room no 2015 1. Tha bed (double)is positioned tight against a wall, thus only allowing acces from 1 side. Better use could have been made of available wall space for extra storage/shelving.

    "The twin room size was good but the double room was very small. Also the cobpoard space is small. The breakfast could do with an additional arabic dish i.e hummus and foul with olive oile.But in general I would rate it as good." (3304069260)

    The staff atitude in general was good and the cleaneness of the hotel also was good. I would like to thank them all.

    Being from the ME and as a muslim the one improvement I would suggest is to provide a higene hose in the bathrooms so we can wash after the use of the WC.

    modern and clean

    check in was the worst I have ever encountered. It took me 20 mins to get to the front of the queue. Upon arrival at my room i discovered it was the wrong type of room, which could not be dealt with by telephone with reception, so I had to queue again for another 15 mins. Total time to get to my room 35 mins.

    "I found the hotel far too modern for my tastes with a vast cold reception area. Upon check out there were long queues so much so that I went for a walk to allow them to disperse. The hotel was clean and tidy but I wouldn't hurry back." (3304285906)

    "I would have preferred an accurate post code which located the hotel. W1A 4RF places the hotel near to Rathbone Place which is actually a GPO building. There is no indication of its true location using the online maps. This information was critical as I wanted a hotel close to the venue, to check in , get changed etc., but instead I had to pay a £8.20 taxi ride to Marble Arch as well as having carry my bag to the event. I suggest you check and alter the postcode information." (3304131476)

    "We have stayed twice at the Cumberland this year. It is our preferred London hotel. The contemporary styling is excellent and the hotel is perfectly situated for exploring central London. However, our most recent stay (November 2005)was less than satisfactory as our room was extremely noisy overnight. The window soundproofing was non-existent. On complaining I was immediately offered an alternative room for our second night and this was perfect. Reception staff also advised me that a window replacement programme will start soon to rectify the noise problem that affects some rooms. Apart from this one instance, our overall experience at this hotel has been positive and we would recommend to others." (2862395)

    The contemporary style of the hotel is very appealing. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring central London.

    We found our room on this occassion to be reaaly noisy. Very poor sound proofing of window. The street noise overnight was so evident that it actually prevented both of us from sleeping. I demanded a room change for our second night and the new room was perfect.

    Maintenance of equipment in the room was poor: sink leaking, lights not working, showerhead needed cleaning. When checking out we were asaked if there were problems but the staff were not interested in the detail of our concerns
