    Good location for touring the area; near coast yet easy for inland tourist attractions.

    Breakfast only served until 9.00a.m. No information provided in room to indicate that. Staff could have tried to provide cooked breakfast at 9.05a.m. when I arrived at dining room. Those staying at the hotel should be aware of this.

    We liked the location, the room was adequate for our needs and the food was good and reasinably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient.

    We realise that it was originally an inn but we missed not having a lounge (where we might meet other guests).

    Brilliant location, execellent food, good service

    unfortunately the most uncomfortable, noisy bed we have ever slept on, which did spoil the stay, as it was for our wedding anniversary!

    excellent staff, nothing to much trouble. room was really nice as was the sleeping facilities.food in the hotel was really good

    room was rather cold during our stay, no way of heating room , this was down to the staff to activate the central heating.

    "I like the fact that the hotel is in a fairly remote area which means it's quiet and doesn't have the disadvantage of town noise. We had a peaceful and pleasant time and would stay at the Mason's Arms again without hesitation." (107610224)

    The hotel was relaxed and informal but very clean, well run, with excellent staff. Food was really good too. As a coeliac I often have trouble getting food I can tolerate in hotels and restaurants. The chef was kind enough to toast the bread I brought with me for breakfast and was very clear about the ingredients he used. This is really important to me now as I become ill quickly if I eat gluten. I felt reassured by the attitude of the staff.

    Room had plenty of space, was very well furnished, was warm and comfortable which was very welcome because the weather outside was very windy and cold. Good menu, and food was enjoyable.

    Outside stairs up to the bedroom were a bit steep.

    Very comfortable room with room to do some yoga. Breakfast and dinner excellent, served in a cosy dining room with character. Hosts were very friendly. Very quiet. Parking facility at the back very adequate.

    good food and plenty of it. service friendly, prompt and efficient. All staff friendly and considerate in the best possible ways. I was late booking so had to shared a double bed with my daughter on the first night. When a cancellation was received by the proprietors we were offered a twin room for the remainder of our stay. This room was superior to the original room and much appreciated. The staff moved all our gear too!

    We enjoyed the starters and the main courses very much but were less impressed by the desserts which were mainly bought in and not made on the premises.

    " The location is good for Craster, Alnwick, Alnwick Castle, Gardens and Alnmouth and we had no complaints about the hotel or the service however the price, £140 for two with evening meal we thought was a little on the high side. If we had invited friends to come with us we would have felt uncomfortable about asking them to pay this for one nights stay. " (97956734)

    The setting and view from our window was lovely countryside and sheep grazing.

    "This site we booked throught did not state that all rooms were en-suite.It would have been helpful to know that their restaurant gets full quickly so you need to book a table at the same time. The booking in was a bit slap dash. This sounds negative but are only observations and did nothing to spoil what was a lovely night away in a very beautiful place." (99627942)

    "This a perfect location for a quiet, comfortable break. The spacious room was excellent, very clean and comfortable with a balcony to sit out on. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meals are served in the bar area and the food was excellent. Also a full english breakfast included in the price. An ideal location for peace and quiet but within easy distance of Alnwick and the excellent, unspoilt Northumberland beaches." (99903990)
