    Location of hotel fantastic Friendly staff

    Unloading of luggage when no space at front of hotel (only 1 car parking space available for 5 mins) The first night we stayed with we were not offered a discount ticket for the Hotel de Ville car park so we paid full price when we checked out, need to ask for the ticket as we did not know about it. The floors in our room looked clean so we allowed our baby to crawl around and she ended up filthy with black all over her knees and feet, floors need regular mopping!!

    Réception télé de mauvaise qualité, pas d'accès aux chaines de Canal+ ce qui me semble anormal pour un établissement de ce standing

    Location in old town and by the lake was excellent, executive room was large, parking easy and they pay for part.

    "We very much enjoyed our two night stay at Hotel Splendid. It is located in a very convenient location for public parking (reduced rate)and for visiting the old town Annecy and the lake. We booked well in advance and had a large executive room at a good price." (99344251)

    "Nice breakfast and a lovely breakfast room with a view of the lake. In the heart of the Annecy tourist area. Walking distance to the train station (gare). [You should have better directions on your web site for walking to/from the gare.] When arriving I knew you were close but I did not have street names and specific directions. Lots of restaurants & shops close by. Across the street from beautiful Lake Annecy." (99529121)

    Stand up shower, very important to Americans, thank you. Clean simple lines, uncluttered.

    "For a 3 star hotel this made some 4 star Parisian hotels look decidely 1 star. Absolutely brilliant for what we wanted. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone." (3304334439)

    Very big room by European standards. Excellent for a 3 star hotel.

    "Overall the hotel is v.quiet. Our room was adjacent to the bar area and we did not hear any noise either from inside or outside of the hotel. The location is excellent and v.useful for families with children. The only negative was the size of the room." (3304454784)

    The location was excellent for all the local sights

    We booked an executive suite at an increased rate as we needed extra space for the family (2adults, a child and a baby in a cot). We felt that for the rate we paid (155 Euros) we would have had a larger room.

    "Hotel is located in an excellent position for all amenities in Annecy. Rooms and common parts of hotel were all of a very good standard." (3304403430)

    Rooms were of a good size and were clean and comfortable. the bathrooms were excellent.

    Breakfast was expensive as it was essentially continental.

    Good sized accomodation in a very clean hotel.Well situated right opposite the lake and mountains

    Room 101 where we stayed was too noisy on a morning because it is right next to breakfast room and above the restaurant but other than that, everything was good.

    "Excellent position for a hotel, ideally placed for exploring Annecy. Nice rooms with view, rather average breakfast for the price. The internet booking price was not understood by reception staff, and it took a bit of persuasion to get them to honour it. Large secure municipal car park not far away." (3304505855)

    Central location

    The lounge bar on 1st floor could have been staffed and a bit more atmosphere in this area would have been nice, background music etc. A better selection of 'cooked' breakfast would be appreciated by guests, I'm sure, otherwise breakfast was good. Our room could have benefited from re-decoration.

    "With a few exceptions, the hotel staff was grumpy and appeared to be bothered when asked any informational question. Although the rooms were distressingly shabby looking, the location of the hotel was superb and the lake views from the two rooms we had were splendid." (2513833)

    The location was the best thing about the hotel

    The rooms need to be repainted and the hotel staff needs to learn to be more friendly and forthcoming to customers.

    "Very efficient and genuinely friendly staff. The buffet breakfast at 13 Euros was very good value and available weekdays from 0630 and weekends 0730. Parking at the hotel requires a little pre planning: there is a small layby at the hotel entrance where you can park up to unload and then transfer the car 100 yards across to the opposite side of the road to the public underground car park of the Hotel de Ville. The hotel offers a reduced overnight parking rate of a few Euros which is exceptional value as the site is secured overnight. Apart from this slight inconvenience the hotel is well locate opposite the Lake and park for walking and only 200 yards from the resturant and shopping district of the old town. The hotel will organise a resturant for you if asked. We ate at the Auberge De Savoie specialising in Fish. (Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) The food was excellent, well presented and a very freindly place. Menus range from a 26,39 or 50 Euros with a la carte available. The wine list is comprehensive. The Chignin-Bergeron white was excellent with the red mullet wrapped in cabbage." (1977987)
