    "Nice and very quiet. " (108359869)

    Newly decorated with new bathroom and furniture. Appealing sheets and blankets.

    I had trouble turning on the energy efficient tv. In the bathroom there was no counter to put toiletries on, just a pedestal sink and toilet tank top. The bathroom was big with lots of room for a table. The shower head sprayed the floor even though the door was in place.

    I was in the hotel for less than 12 hours and could not fault the service.

    Not really a bad point but I would have liked a choice of fruit juice at breakfast, I am not fond of orange juice.

    we only had 1 set of towels, toiletries, biscuits etc. also there was noise (like tank filling) that was constant all night. my friends room was good but the shower did not work in the morning, also no veggie choice with breakfast, pretty poor in this day and age

    Friendly staff, nice location & room, very clean room.

    We were a little late arriving (after 9pm) and so there was no food available nearby. Perhaps we missed the information online but it would have been helpful to know so we could have eaten earlier.

    Friendly and hard working staff. Good value restaurant

    Rooms very tired and in need of refurbishment. Frosted glass window on room door with no curtain, compromising privacy. Temporary management running this hotel as previous owner has sold to the brewery.

    "A problem with booking through your company is we cannot communicate directly with the accommodation provider. We specifically wanted to have a hotel with restaurant so we did not have to drive on a Sunday evening. On arrival we were told that they did not cook on a Sunday evening.     "For the money, the Black Horse is hard to beat. The food and beers were good and the service excellent. The chalet rooms were more than adequate. I was also very pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get into Cambridge at rush hour in the morning - only 25 minutes to get right into the centre. TwThe only real suggestion for improvement would be to have Wi-Fi internet access. If this were available I'd certainly give this top marks" (97370410)

    Food was first class

    Foreign lad behind bar very helpful. Young female waitress had all the worlds troubles on her shoulders or so it seemed. A smile doesn't cost anything.

    "I chose this hotel as I prefer to stay out of town centres and find a more relaxed rural location. The accomodation is chalet-style near to a locals pub. My stay included a Friday night and I was awoken numerous times by the comings and goings of groups in various states of drunken giddiness. Probably would have not mentioned that here, as par for the course really, but the shower not working to boot left me a little hacked off. There's only so much you can wash in a sink! On the positive side, lovely setting, friendly locals, clean room and pleasant pub and restaurant. A word about the food. Excellent. I ate there both nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good choice from the specials board. I had possibly the best rib-eye steak I have ever had. Very reasonably priced too." (99171145)

    Large comfortable bed. Cleanliness good.

    Chalet style accomodation, which is fine, but not when the walls are paper thin. Coughing from next room was intrusive. Non-functioning shower.

    "Very easy place to get to and it dominates the small village. It really is a Motel though not a hotel, which I hadn't really taken into account. But that has its own charm! However, the room was really rather pokey for the price and decor and facilities were somewhat dated - for instance, these days you have to go out of your way to find a TV without teletext. The staff however were extremely friendly and informative and we had a great breakfast, though again - paying what we did - you'd expect fresh coffee rather than instant. Just a little thing but it makes a difference. All in all, a pleasant experience but for the price there needs to be rather more polish." (99916120)
