    Accommodation is in an annexe, and was very quiet considering the situation on a very busy road. Accommodation nice and clean.

    We were disappointed with the menu selection for the evening meal, with very limited selection. Chicken was ordered but not available, but not told this till after ordering. We were advised the new chef had only started that day and the chicken would be delivered next day. Breakfast selection much better.

    "Having looked for an hotel with a little charm near to where I wanted to be, I was so dissappointed to find the hotel had as much charm as a damp squid. The hotel is set on a main road, which was fine, but it is on a main route to an A and E hospital, therefore I had to listen to sirens all night. The room was not worth the £85 I paid for it and if I had known of any other hotel close by I would have checked out." (108600418)

    I'm really struggling to write down any good points.

    Bed had bloodstains on base. Room looked like a room from a run down B and B in Blackpool. T.V. would not recieve sky channels. Air blower on all night keeping me awake and there was no way of switching it off. Reception didnt answer phone on three occations. Evening meal was greasy.

    The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The food was good valaue and very tasty( congratulations to teh Chef).

    No lift - I had lots of work to carry and I ws on the 3rd floor- howver your satff did help.Nest time I would book a ground floor room.

    Relatively cheap

    Understaffed; basic quality; needs refurbishment; card entry did not work and had to wait for about half an hour to get into my room.

    "The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast - vegetarian and vegan for us - was excellent. I viewed the hotel website and was able to view the dinner menu - although I didn't see a breakfast menu - but everything else was covered. I know the area but saw information regarding local transport etc. was available. The booking process was quick and efficient and replies from the hotel were also quick." (97148046)

    the room and en-suite were very clean and well equipped. A table and two comfy chairs was a welcome addition.

    There weren't any dislikes.

    Clean & quiet

    The heating did not work and there was a large amount of damp on one wall.

    Friendly. welcoming. Ease of a late check in.

    Breakfast noisy with young children. Should have accommodated based on single travellers, families etc

    "Generally excellent friendly hotel with some character and superb breakfast. Would like to have known times of meals before booking. Would liked to have clock radio in room. TV had alarm facility but no clock anywhere. Shower was extremely powerful to the point where it was difficult to use as the volume and temperature control were the same knob. The hose fitting did not restrain the shower head so you could have a flood easily. Not really a complaint just some useful feedback." (97699335)

    Proper double bed. Nice spacious room. Facilities such as hair dryer and iron included. Excellent breakfast

    "Hotel was clean and staff very helpful, the electrics tripping was a minor inconvenience. Manager very helpful and polite. Not a problem to me but hotel is attached to a very busy pub/restaurant, which some may find too noisy" (99215031)

    "I was very pleasantly surprised by the experience. I stay in hotels a great deal on business and often the service isn't great and the food is rarely good. At The Greyhound, the service was excellent and the food was of an exceedingly high standard from the freshly cooked breakfast to the beautifully prepared evening menu with good choice and superb vegetables."     Don't let the extremely shabby appearance of the pub put you off. I was dreading seeing my room but was very pleasantly suprised, it was large and very clean.

    I tried to order room service on the second night but no one would answer the telphone, so ended up going down the road to a Pizza takeaway and bringing it back! This was a shame as everyting else was great.

    The location of the hotel and it being an old traditional building. It being in the middle of the town and still being close to parks etc.

    Noise at night from an airconditioner. However this was solved adequately on our request.

    Large room (above pub). Clean and bright with large window.

    I can't think of anything in particular. We always stay at the Greyhound when visiting friends and family and find it perfect for this.

    "The hotel was ideally situated, within walking distance to a nice high street. The area is lively with restaurants and bars. We had a very comfortable overnight stay. The room was very clean, spacious, bright and airy. The staff were welcoming, wanting to please. The breakfast was the best we'd had in a long time, with a great choice.     "The hotel is part of a lively pub so if eating in the restaurant be aware that it may be a little noisey. Customer service from all staff, both hotel and restaurant, was of a high standard.     Need to ensure that the right amount of towels in bathroom. Room booked for two people. Only sufficient towels for one person.

    "The hotel was very clean and everything looked new. The room was nicely decorated with light colours and was a good size. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and the breakfast the next morning was excellent. The location for anyone wishing for a night out is very good. There are a number of good pubs within walking distance and Sutton is also very close. I thoroughly enjoyed my night and would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for basic but good quality accommodation." (2306986)

    "We found all staff, without exception, cheerful, welcoming and helpful. Reception staff are on until midnight when they hand over to, a very competent, night porter allowing you 24hr check in. Any guest who, like us, have quite a distance to travel after finishing work and who then needs to take their chances on the M25 will certainly appreciate this facility. Traditional surroundings, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent home cooked food combined with attentive polite staff makes a meal in the pub restaurant an absolute must for any visitor - but be prepared for generous portions !!
