    excellent hotel. very clean. nice staff. very good leisure facilities. close to city centre.

    when we arrived at the hotel there was no record that we had booked a room. after about 20 mins of trying to explain that i booked online the staff allowed me access to my emails to prove that i had actually booked a room. i had to print off a copy of this. not happy at all.

    I had expected the room to thave two separte beds but was given a suite with one double bed, kitchen etc .The manager did sort the rooms but it was an inconvience.

    Fantastic building

    Timings fo meals/room service were restrictive. A brief of the hotel facilities would have been useful on arrival

    "I can only say that everything was excellent, not sure how you could do anything to make it better. Lots of people arrived at the same time and it was great that an adequate amount of receptionists were on hand to check everybody in and not have the guests queuing. Just one small point, when trying to find the hotel all the signposts appeared to be falling down, wasn't a problem for us but might be for foreigners." (99331871)

    Nice size room

    No directions to hotel. It took us an hour and a half to find the place.

    "On check in I was told that the room would be about 30 mins. We were directed to wait in the bar. There were a lot of children running and screaming unsupervised and the staff seemed unwilling to ask the parents to control them or tell the kids to behave. Eventually we ordered a couple of drinks and later still ordered food. The food was eaten and the plates remained on the table for an hour. At 4pm I went to reception to see if our room was ready (as we hadn't been called as promised) and was told that it would take a further 30 mins. I dealt with a european young woman who was sympathetic enough to our plight but then an Irish woman staff member came over and was a bit rude and snotty. By this time there were a number of people trying to check in to no avail. I could go on for another hour but do not wish to waste any more of my time. I had taken my partner away for a special weekend and booked a suite and it was disappointing. Before I finish I will mention the late housekeeping, no replacement dishes or tea and coffee, the trays from someone else room service in the corridor for 18 hrs and the noise in the restaurant from children. To summarise I think they have a nerve classing themselves as a 4 star hotel." (99660752)

    That I had booked a suite..having another room was handy.

    Arriving at 3 and not getting the room until 5.Check in was to be from 2. It then took at least another hour and 2 phone calls to get the bags delivered to the room,by which time it was too late to use the leisure facilities.

    The overall lighting effect throughout the reception, bar, rooms etc gave a cold,dismal atmosphere in what was otherwise a lovely hotel.

    "Hotel check-in process was a complete mess. A group booking was made, but resulted in a mix up with rooms, and with rates on check-out. Some staff seemed disinterested or undertrained, while others were friendly and helpful. As it is a relatively new hotel, they will experience teething problems, and when these are ironed out it will be a fantastic facility, but some staff currently fall into the must try harder category."     Beautiful Landmark buildings set on mature grounds. Nice restaurant.

    Some areas of the hotel can be hard accessed from reception.

    "The hotel is set in a very imposing and impressive building dating back many years. The reception is warm and welcoming, although the room numbers make little sense, and the signs in the lifts are confusing. One lift says for room numbers 1001+ go to first floor - then a hand printed sign says go to the lower ground floor. All rooms on the 1st floor start with a 3. Very confusing. Food very good though, and value for money great. Rooms are supposed to have complimentary broadband - however I find it rarely works, and have to sit in the lobby using a wireless connection instead. Some negative points - but a nice hotel."     Hotel Facilities - Pool and Sauna

    Room was a long way from reception. Insufficient Parking spaces for disabled guests, no easy access for wheelchairs

    "This was my third visit to the Sligo Clarion hotel and needless to say I wasn't dissappointed. My stay here is always comfortable and pleasurable, I particularly appreciate the size and comfort of the rooms, after a long hard day on the road I find the hotel adds little touches that make unwinding easy, from the big comfy beds to the camomile tea(even the shampoo's are quality), you get a sense of thoughtful well being offered by the hotel. The food and sevice is of a high standard and the facilities are excellant although I'm ashamed to admit that I've not made it to the pool and leisure areas yet, may be next time !" (3304588792)

    "We were very dissapointed that we had not been informed about the ongoing construction work right outside our bedroom window. The work started on one morning as early as 7am and carried on passed 7 the same evening which took away from the pleasant relaxed atmosphere we had experienced on the sunday when we arrived."     affordable bar meals (the thai food was first class, however we stayed for 3 days and ended up aving to go into town for something to eat)

    "excellent, the weather was so bad that the roads were like glass from the snow and ice but the reception staff advised us to leave the car, staff were very friendly and young and with it it is a fantastic hotel, flawless!! the attention to detail is unreal they forget nothing in the room/ suite / bathroom. we drove from tipperary so it was a very long drive but well worth it, we would definately go back."     Excellent is only word i can use!! the hotel gym and pool where very good and the rooms where very well layed out and service was second to none

    Food. Some of the prices where above the cost of similar menus avilable inn silgo town

    We couldnt have asked for anything better. The place was absolutely fabulous and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend the hotel to other people.

    "ROOMS SHOULD BE WARMER WHEN FIRST ENTERED.THIS COULD EASILY BE RECTIFIED BY PUTTING THE HEATING ON FOR TWO HOURS BEFORE THE OFFICIAL CHECK-IN TIME, ESPECIALLY IN COLDER WEATHER, AND AROUND 6AM EACH MORNING?" (2180774)

    THE ACCOMODATION WAS QUITE GOOD, ALTHOUGH THE LIGHTING WITHIN THE ROOM COULD BE IMPROVED(TOO DIM).ALSO, THE SPOTTER LIGHT FOR READING IS DANGEROUSLY HOT TO ADJUST.

    THE SUNDAY CARVERY WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT AS IT WAS OVER-PRICED FOR THE AMOUNT OF CHOICES ON OFFER(28EUROS).

    "We found this Hotel to be a breath of fresh air. The staff were warm, friendly, smart and helpful. We could not have asked for better. The Hotel is beautifully appointed and decorated in a refreshing contemporary style and has a bright and airy feel to it. The leisure facilities looked excellent although we did not have the opportunity to try them out on this occasion. We look forward to doing so on our next visit as this is one hotel we definately wish to return to." (2188403)

    The accomodation was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Attention to detail was excellent.

    I do not think there are any areas that currently require to be improved upon.

    "The hotel is amazing. At night it is lit up which is like something out of a book. The steps at the front of the hotel is where my partner surprised me and asked me to marry him. I would definetely recemmond this hotel and i will be going back in the future. The staff are very friendly and the bar and restaurant are of a very high standard." (2186915)
