    overall a good hotel, clean room, with clean bedding, towels and coffee and tea facilities

    the breakfast on the second night was very poor, we asked for scambled egg, when it arrived on the plate it wasnt eddible, there was no mushrooms or hash browns, we did comment to the cook who said he would replace it but didnt have the time

    Value for money for essentially a bed for the night and staff were friendly and welcoming

    The rooms were dark and dingy and we needed a light constantly, even during daytime. The breakfast served was disgusting and horrendously overpriced. Undercooked eggs, deep friend sausages and 1 mushroom all for £8! Service in the resturant was poor, 1 waitress (through no fault of her own/purely understaffed) running backwards and forwards, cutlery was running out, no cups for teas and coffees etc

    Good booking on internet.

    No reception staff - a notice informed me I had to call a telephone number which rang for ages and then finally I was able to check in. The advertised wi-fi did not connect with my laptop.

    Staff were excellent and friendly Food was good

    Restaurant was too busy at dinner which resulted in long queues to order A terrible lack of crockery at breakfast and had to wait for dishes to be washed ( only 10 cereal dishes and no saucers at all)

    very busy not enough staff, food cold at breakfast-nothing laid out for self-service. Noisy at night-fire alarms going off because of band. was not aware of this at time of booking.

    "Overall i think this hotel is great value for money, we used it as a base to visit Alton Towers which was only a 20 minute drive away. We got a discounted room rate by booking on line and i have to say i was very impressed considering the price we paid. Would definately stay there again." (108192889)

    Staff where very friendly on check in. The room was very spacious and clean. Food in the pub was lovely and very reasonably priced!

    There was some noise from some drunken people in the early hours of the second night from the car park / outside Macdonalds.

    silly things really buy , cups hadnt been washed properly, very little tea/coffee makings available in room, curtains did not close properly (had to use a chair to keep them closed)

    Hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful, i will come back here again, as will my friends who also enjoyed their stay, live music in adjoining restaurant / bar - excellent! local kids although rowdy were friendly towards us and we joined in with them, i have to say as a scottish group that was totally outnumbered we had a blast with these guys!

    maybe a little lively for more mature guests, the locals use the adjoining bar and the younger ones can be a little rowdy, but were a freindly bunch, we got on great. also the wi fi didnt work verywell, i kept losing signal.

    Helpful Staff Convenient location

    Torn curtain, dirty cups on arrival, poor maintainance of fixtures, electric sockets loose from wall, insufficient hangers. No lift to 1st floor.

    room and general deco of hotel was very dated. the 'free' wifi in the hotel was not functioning/available. the kettle in the room was broken, the bathroom leaked with panels off the wall.

    Staff at restaurant/bar area were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious.

    There was no one on the reception desk at 8am when we were checking out, i had to wait for someone to come down so that i could pay for my room. When staff did arrive they spent a while deciding who was going to work on reception and who was going to work in the restaurant. This took up a lot of our time and made our departure later than intended.

    Covenient location, ease of parking, 24hr supermarket across the road. Attached to Hungry Hourse pub for meals. Rooms spacious with double bed and double sofa bed.

    Most of the bedrooms are out of range of the advertised WiFi, needed to sit in the pub bar for access. On visit only 4 out of 7 cold breakfast dishes were available and the breakfast staff unhelpful.

    Smokey and very dirty rooms, unhelpful staff and also wanted to authorise our credit card for £175 until we left in case we and I quote we trashed the rooms and run up a bar bill!!

    "it was nice place to stay, in total we booked 3 rooms (for us and our friends) next year around about the same time we will be returning to alton towers but i doubt we will be staying at the weathervane as i dont want my kids stoned! i hope you understand this if you have kids then im sure you will" (108121950)

    the rooms hallways were all clean and tidy

    the main thing what we thought was really bad was when we arrived we unloaded our luggage and sat outside enjoying a few beers in the sun etc when all we could smell was canabis being smoked by the next table along and as we were positioned at the front we were waiting for our friends to turn up we wanted to stay situated at the front so we could see them pull up in the front car park. my wife who works for the police mentioned to a member of your bar staff that there were 3 to 4 people out the front smoking canabis bearing in mind we had very young children with us who were also inhaleing this she was told by one of your bar staff i quote "well just move to another table" he was very rude and to be honest totaly unhelpful. also when our friends did turn up we all went for a meal we all had the mamouth grill i think it was called and none of the dishes had any chicken on they had all the other meats on but no chicken but in all fairness the waiter soon rectifyed this and that was that all sorted, but as for the stone heads outside i was really gutted that one of your bar staff didnt bother to do anything about this.

    The receptionist was very nice and helpful, both on arrival and departure

    I found that outside of the hotel had alot of youths present, which was extremely off putting and the room was very dated and shabby

    Very good price; easy to find by road; good sized room; convenient for the in-house Hungry Horse restaurant; handy for Alton Towers (the reason it was chosen).

    Nobody manning reception. 5 minute wait after calling for assistance. Public areas in need of decoration and more careful cleaning. Hungry Horse restaurant good value and food acceptable but nobody managing it and tables were left uncleared and uncleaned after use so even with only half the tables in use, most of the rest were not usable.

    Nice pleasant hotel, Bar and Restaurant reasonably priced. Room clean and tidying and currently being renovated

    Loud traffic and car music from late night mcdonalds nearby. Free WiFi doesn't work if you are far away from reception.

    resteraunt was good value for money

    room i was first given when i booked into hotel was disgustingly dirty and smelly had to ask a member of staff to come check it out and when i did was spoken to in a rude manner and then told that he couldnt give me another room as the hotel was fully booked and amazingly when i asked for a refund to go elsewhere as i was refusing to stay in that room the general manager took over and moved me rooms in 2 mins flat wasnt very impresses with the way that it was all dealt with once moved the room was ok and clean and amazingly didnt have mould round the windows like the assistant told me all the rooms had when i complained i really dont understand how these people can expect people to pay to sleep in these conditions i understand these rooms are cheap and there for basic rooms but cleanliness should be a must atleast i wouldnt have let my dog sleep in the first room i was given let alone me and my partner
