    "The owners are knowledgable and clearly work hard to keep everything extremely clean and tidy. The atmosphere is more like a guest house or bed and breakfast than a hotel - I did not feel comfortable using the hotel during the daytime, i felt my being around was irregular and appeared in infringe on the established routines. That said it is good value and fine for an overnight stay - but dont oversleep!" (107387135)

    The hotel has been given a facelift, it is very attractive outside. Inside the decor is tastful. The hotel is extremely clean tidy with an atmosphere of order The owner has excellent local knowledge of places to visit, eat, jogging routes etc The room had an excellent small hairdryer - unusual for hotels There were plenty of power points for my pc, printer, phone charger, hair straightners etc - about 9 in total

    On arrival the owner had no idea of what I had booked or the price I had been quoted depite me booking 5 days in advance. I booked a double room hoping to be confortable working. The website indicates free public parking nearby - It does not say this is restricted to one hour outside the hotel or 3 hours up the road. It was necessary for the proprieter to make special arrangements for me to park in a nearby Dr surgery as I needed parking for the duration of my stay. The double room allocated was incredibly tiny and very dark, I needed the lights on all day as there was a brick wall outside the window. A kettle was provided but it does not fit under the tap of the tiny sink to fill it. I had to fill the kettle using the shower! The handbasin was very tiny, shelf above and shelf over the toilet were unusable as they are attached at an angle that makes anything put on them roll off. The soap dispenser attached to the wall of the shower appeared not to move. I couldnt reach this to use it. I'm 5ft 6" tall. Cooked breakfast is not available after 8:30am - I was apparantly told this on arrival but was embarrassed that I forgot on the first morning. I was offered and accepted yogurt and toast as everything had been put away by 9 am.

    Friendly staff, good advice about eating out, Car parking better than expected. Impressive building, clean, comfortable bed room, quiet.

    It was clean and well furnished, Owners were helpful.

    The breakfast was very early, would of liked it a little later. 7a.m till 8.30 a.m Have been used to staying at places were breakfast was 8 till 10. But it wasnt a big problem.

    The owners were so friendly and accomodating. Nothing was too much trouble for them. the room was spotless and there were fresh towels and milk daily.

    "I would have like to have been able to view the room on line and been made aware of the size of the bed. I would also have liked to have been made aware of where to park before I arrived instead of having to park up first and then have to go into the hotel to enquire about where to park and obtain the parking permit. I think this couldhave been done at the booking stage and a parking permit already completed and sent in the post along with a clear description of where the parking was with a map of the actual town itself."     The breakfast was excellent as was the reception room and reading material on the local area.

    I would have expected a king size bed and quilt and a larger en suie facility. The third bed was inconvenient in the room and the space could have been better used.

    "Well, we arrived very late after flight complications in Paris and on route to The Fairlawn, we subsequently got lost. We called Mine Hosts who were very understanding and guided us into Amesbury and waited up for our arrival. On arrival we were greeted by the Proprioter and were shown where to park our car and were checked in. As it was very late the Proprioter said that there was no need to fill in the book in registration and was satisfied with just confirmation of our names. The following morning, after a quiet night's sleep we were then ready for a trip to Stonehenge. We never had breakfast at The Fairlawn, however, I did vist the breakfast servery area early on a Saturday morning and found the Proprioter working hard with his brigade of chefs (the food smelt good!). Lovely place to stay, would also recommend the Indian Restaraunt 3 doors away (tell them that you are staying at The Fairlawn and they will look after you). The only possible downpoint would be the late night pub over the road but don't let this put you off, get over there and enjoy!" (99328239)

    "Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile and found the staff/owners exceptionally pleasant and polite. The rooms are tastefully decorated and can't remember the last time we stayed in a hotel with quite so comfortable beds. Cleanliness was A1.     "Arriving in Amesbury was a big disappointment, given that it is so close to Salisbury and a major visitor attaraction, Stonehenge. The location of the hotel would be a big turn-off to passing trade. Once inside however we were very pleasantly surprised and there was very little to fault during our overnight stay (except the supply of loo roll was inadequate!)" (99629138)

    The house was lovely, good sized rooms, comfortable beds and very clean throughout. Convenient parking. Helpful staff. Tasty breakfast.

    The village of Amesbury leaves a lot to be desired but has the advantage of being very close to Stonehenge, Salisbury and is on good routes to other places of interest.

    "Owners were very welcoming and were full of information about places to visit and eat. The hotel is ideally situated if you want to visit Stonehenge as it's only 5 minutes away in the car and Salisbury is only 15 minutes away. In terms of Amesbury itself, there isn't that much to see, but definitely eat at the curry house a couple of doors down and when in Salisbury take a visit to Prezzo a lovely Italian. (Both recommended by owners) We'd both stay there again if another trip comes up." (99942217)

    We had a very comfortable stay. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were pretty. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts in the morning were yummy!

    Breakfast is a little early, however it was good as it meant we could make the most of our days touring.

    "This would be the most lovely small hotel I have stayed in. Such calm and friendly staff who are always happy to help and very pleasant living conditions. An excellent breakfast where all our needs were met and perfect advice about local travel conditions. Speaking of Amesbury in general, there is not a huge selection of local dinner venues, however those that are there are adequate so this should not reflect negatively on the B&B experience of staying at the Fairlawn.     Friendly helpful staff. Lovely interior. Awesome breakfast.

    If pressed, I would say we found the mix of hot and cold in the shower a little tricky but this is truly a petty complain given the overall standard of the stay.

    The hotel was immaculately clean and the breakfast was perfectly cooked with excellent bacon from a local farm. The staff were very hospitable and it was a welcoming atmosphere.

    There wasn't anything bad about the stay, the bedroom was a bit cold because it was on the corner of the building but there was a second heater in the room when I arrived and it coped though had to be on all night. The shower ran rather too hot, but I really am nit-picking.

    It is hard to find one location in the area convenient to the major attractions; Amesbury is near Stonehenge and about 8 miles from Salisbury; other attractions are a stretch to get to.
