    Clean, comfortable bed.

    The kettle had to be moved and plugged in under a chair. The bathroom wasn't completely clean - hairs in bath and on floor.

    Friendly and helpful staff. Room was small but clean and facilities were fine. Great breakfast.

    Evening meal was disappointing - obviously pre-prepared/packaged. Ran out of one dessert.

    The hotel were expecting my arrival and made me welcome. I was very comfortable. They also dealt with parking efficiently.The location is convenient for the front and some attractions.

    Lovely view from room. Room nice and clean. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. Plenty of free parking. We didn't use the car at all once we arrived and checked in. Lovely walks and attractions nearby. Beach close by.

    Evening meals a bit pricey.

    Lovely room hotel staff very polite and friendly. Situated near the sea front and town. Breakfast was lovley, it was cooked fresh for you. For a 2 star hotel it was very nice.

    The only thing was there was only a small amount of toilet roll in the room had we of run out it would of been embarassing asking for more. EMBARASSING TO ASK FOR MORE.

    Hotel was very noisy & the room could do with a refurbish, plus someone smoked in there shortly before. Food wasn't good.

    Location, room(we booked the superior) and the breakfast.

    Bathroom needs updating. Should have been told before we went that there was scaffolding up the front of the hotel(not nice to have a sea view with scaffold pipes across the window - or to have a painter walking in front of the window while relaxing).

    "Having read some of the previous reviews I was a little apprehensive about booking. In the event, it was a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and adequate and the breakfast was generous. The only real issue was that the lift shaft was adjacent to my room and caused some noise disturbance. This may have been reflected in the competitive price." (97838933)

    "All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not know the area, and they were able to recommend where we could walk to get dinner. The room was exceptionally clean and all the appliances worked well. Our room had a sea view that was exactly as described on the website. If I have the opportunity to stay in Portsmouth again, I would stay at this hotel" (97757082)

    The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

    I know that parking is limited, but parking on a busy street was a little unnerving.

    Location; staff were helpful and friendly; bar hours within the hotel with the TV a great idea.

    TV in room didn't have good reception, power shower was more like a light spray than a shower - also the heat of the water wasn't stable.

    "We enjoyed our stay in southsea, it was very peaceful, The gardens were beautiful. We arrived in southsea by National Coaches. It would have been helpful if we had been informed that the Hard portsmouth was the best place for taxis or public transport. to take us to Southsea." (97816270)

    The rooms were comfortable,clean and spacious. Dining was excellent and the staff helpful.

    The water in the bathroom was slow to heat up. wasted a lot of water before the water. was hot enough to use.

    Friendly and personable staff. Nice breakfast. Comfortable (if slightly cramped) room. Good view. Spacious shower/toilet room

    Room furniture and fixings were dated and in need of replacement and/or redecoration. All light fittings used conventional tungsten filament and not 'energy saving' bulbs.

    "We were visiting to attend a funeral. Hotel is very Central and in a nice quiet area. Lovely breakfast with attentive staff. I do think because of the accomodation it was a little overpriced." (97208443)

    Wonderful Views and lovely staff.

    Needs updating - loo was loose on the floor and needed a lick of paint and modernising.Walls are also a bit thin!
