    "Despite the above points, we enjoyed our one-night stay at Tulloch Castle and appreciated the wonderful restoration of all the rooms. We enjoy travelling round Scotland and staying in high class hotels with a reputation for good local food. Sometimes simple lack of attention to detail can diminish the pleasure and we would hope that our criticisms can be easily addressed and remedied. " (108185629)

    Scrupulously clean and stylish historical Scottish decor; huge room and bed (in fact two huge beds in the room!) and lovely antique furniture; very attentive receptionist and superb evening meal.

    No indication when booking that our room would be up three flights of stairs (no lift - understandable in a 'castle'!); very poor pre-dinner drinks experience - G&T served without ice or lemon/lime and when tasted after ice being added, tonic was 'flat'. This was satisfactorily remedied at the third attempt - new drink with plenty of ice and lemon! Only a choice of one red and one white house wine available by the glass - the white was a Chardonnay which I personally dislike, so as my husband prefers red wine and was happy with the 'by the glass' red choice, I was unable to have wine with my otherwise excellent meal - a whole bottle would have been too much. The breakfast menu was formulaic and very patronising in tone (standard to Oxford Hotels) trying to extol the benefits or criticise the not-so-good points of the various selections available. I couldn't quite understand why porridge took 20 mins to prepare and why smoked haddock and another item which I can't recall attracted an extra charge - I have NEVER known items on an inclusive breakfast menu do this.

    NICE HOTEL ,HAD A HISTORICAL FEEL TO IT ,STAFF LEFT YOU TO DO WHAT YOU WANTED ,VERY RELAXING

    OUR ROOM WE BOOKED WAS NOT READY GOT MOVED TO A SMALLER ONE ,WAS NT HAPPY ABOUT THAT.

    "Very pleasant stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Overall ambience of hotel quiet and restful despite man in next room singing in the shower!!" (107947476)

    Friendliness of staff, excellent food, well presented and delicious. Duty manager was extremely helpful and arranged a change of room when heating malfunctioned.

    Hot water failed; some problem with pump. However as mentioned the Duty Manager immediately addressed the problem and when it proved to be a plumbing problem, got a change of room organised.

    "Room was something else, it was out of this world, only minor fault with the whole stay was the breakfast staff, who even though were helpful in the end and seemed run off there feet, missed items from my breakfast I ordered, never cleaned the table from the previous people, which lead to me having no cutlery, and no cup for my coffee, and when I did get clean cutlery, my breakfast was cold! But the breakfast, even though cold, was lovely, especially the sausages." (107494068)

    "It is not entirely clear on the website (if it is, I missed it) that you are not charged at the point of booking but at the end of your stay at the hotel where you pay the hotel directly. Lovely hotel with a cosy bar, enjoy a whiskey in front of the fire but get there early for a spot next to it. Great food at the bar. The restaurant is meant to be good too but didn't get a chance to try it. The surrounding area is beautiful and you will not be short of things to see and do." (97042572)

    "A value for money quality hotel, where the staff genuinely wish for you to have a good stay. Food was 1st class all homemade. Very clean pleasant place to stay whether on business or pleasure. Good facilities in room i.e. large tv with digi box and a steam iron. All in all for single occupancy this hotel only costs little more than a premier travel inn but it would be rude to compare the two." (99334386)

    Superb building if you appreciate period buildings you will love it, a strong highland theme present in the hotel. Food was excellent.

    Room size was fantasic and had all the finishing touches that made it an excellent room

    WC wouldnt flush right. Had problems with trying to get the TV to work proparly. Also the fact that my room rate was double if i wanted to stay an extra night because i had not booked on a web site.

    Beautiful building with very friendly staff. Ideally situated for touring the Black Isle and surrounding area.

    "Made to feel welcome, staff were very good and freindly.Food was exclent Hotel was more like a 5 star accomodation. Booked before in a Hotel not too far away in the next town North, however there were no vacancies so booked in to the Tulloch Castle Hotel, very pleased I did and I shall be staying there again rather than the usual hotel (although it is closer to my place of buisness) Thankyou very much, keep up the good standards that your Hotel desreves."
