    Very pleasant staff, good facilities and excellent location.

    We could have done without the kitchen air vent being so close to our balcony area. Smelly and noisy from 19.00 onwards!

    "Location great facilities very good. Restaurant food very good, breakfasts did become a bit boring but were adequate and choice and price not bad. BUT restaurant Colleagues very unfriendly did not appear to be pleased that they had any guests. Nice little bar but noone used it as Staff unfriendly.Last night cap just not welcomed...bare in mind we were a couple in mid foties not young drunks! Other staff lovely, room always clean and tidy, sand cleared away etc etc." (3304858182)

    No bar facilities or snack facilities. Restaurant food great quality but waiters VERY unfriendly...guests a nuisance. Asking for a drink in the bar appeared to be a crime.

    The hotel is in an excellent position - close to the fantastic Atlanctic coast and the town Of Lacanau Ocean, which has enough life, but not too much !!! Surrounded my pine woods and close to some very desirable holiday homes. The staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful and our room was just the job, it was nice to have a separate living area to chill out and a terrace too !! The highlight of our 3 day stay though was the food - it was excellent, and the set menu varied every night. We didn't always know what we were eating - but that was half the fun !!!

    Only the staff in reception could speak any English so we had a few laughs with the waitresses trying out our O level French - learnt 40 odd years ago !! However we expect visitors to our country to speak English, so in theory we should speak theirs when we visit them !!!!

    "We had a very relaxing holiday and would come back to the hotel, as we liked the tranquil ambience of the surroundings and the countryside. The woods were peaceful and it was lovely to wake to the sound of birdsong and the sight of sunlight filtering through the trees. There is an outstanding network of walking and cycle paths throughout the area, leading to stunning beaches. We wished we had been more aware of this at the start of the holiday and we would have walked and cycled more and driven around less! Perhaps it would be useful to promote this more prominently in the reception area and literature, and on the web-site. We would have liked more information about the different types of accommodation at the hotel. We would consider self-catering due to the lack of choice of vegetarian food. It was easy to buy excellent fruit from stalls and supermarkets at reasonable prices." (3304338040)

    Location was excellent, very relaxing to be in the forest and yet quite near the town. Spa facilities were very good, with an excellent choice of treatments at reasonable prices. We liked access to the pool, the gym and hire of cycles at a low price. The gym was adequate. Staff were very obliging and helpful. Plenty of tourism information was available. The room was clean and light, and it was very good to have a balcony. There was plenty of storage space.

    The room was rather small, especially the sleeping area which was filled by the bed. The breakfast was repetitive with not enough choice of cereals and dried fruits. For a vegetarian who is very health-conscious, my wife had few options at dinner apart from salads. In an area where we saw plentiful supplies of very cheap and excellent fruit and vegetables, we could not understand why these did not feature much on the menus eg strawberries, asparagus. The meals for vegetarians were a bit monotonous and not such good value for money. It would have been nice to have had some hot vegetarian meals with regional produce eg ratatouille, stuffed vegetables or soup. tea-making facilities in the room. We would have liked to have made more contact with other guests in a larger lounge. The only shortcoming of the spa was that it was booked up and the times available were not the most convenient if you want to go out for the day.

    Nothing was to much trouble, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was exceptionally good and varied. It was a hotel that we all enjoyed and may use again for a much longer stay.
