    Clean. smart. new mattress

    The area is poor and appears rough, so I did not feel particularly safe. If it was not for the quality of the room, I would not have stayed more than 1 night. I did get talking to the locals. All were friendly, helpful and sound people, so I felt a little better.

    moyennement entretenu et peu de consideration pour les loueurs de l'hotel par rapport aux clients "courants" du pub attenant. pas de precision sur le parking en face du pub réservé aux riverains=100livres d'amende et un sabot!

    THE ROOM ITSELF WAS CLEAN AS IT JUST BEEN REDECORATED. HONESTLY CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE NICE TO SAY.

    ON ARRIVAL WE WERE MET WITH SEVERAL DRUNK ELDERLY MEN WHO THOUGHT IT APPROPRIATE TO MAKE LEWD COMMENTS WHILE WE HAD TO WAIT 20 MINS IN THE BAR FOR A ROOM KEY, EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT TURN UP UNTIL 4PM. BAR STAFF DEALT WITH OUR ARRIVAL WHILST CONTINUING TO SERVE. THE ENTRANCE HALL AND CARPETS WERE NOT REALLY ACCEPTABLE FOR A 'HOTEL'. WHILST THE COST OF THE HOTEL WAS ONLY £55 FOR ONE NIGHT I DID EXPECT A LEVEL OF CLEANLINESS AND PROFESSIONALISM. COMMUNAL TOILETS WERE A DISGRACE. I ALSO THINK THAT THE WEBSITE SHOULD MAKE A REFERENCE TO THE SURROUNDINGS THE HOURGLASS IS SITUATED IN.

    It was close to where i was doing my course and near to the shops.The bed was comfortable.

    It did not have a reataurant for breakfast and the locals were quite loud in the evenings.The rooms was small and the reception of the TV was poor.

    Clean and exceptionally well priced for central London

    Slightly rough area as glass thrown at Barman so Police attended scene. No en-suite rooms in hotel - all rooms on one landing had to share same shower.

    Having to check in at the bar that was very rowdy full of drunks, also rooms were very flimsy able to hear what people were saying in other rooms.

    "Good standard for general business overnight stay. The hotel is within walking distance of Elephant & Castle tube (about 20 mins). Tradional bar downstairs and staff & locals are friendly.Great hotel in execelent location fair price with well turned out rooms some parking on site, happy to spend " (107964941)

    Convenient for Central London, Tower Bridge & Brixton Achedemy. clean and fresh room. Very comfortable bed, TV, coffee making facilities. Pleasant surprise.

    "The rooms in this hotel were of a very poor standard,the sink in the room was not plummed in! the communal bathroom was in such a state of disrepair as to be almost unbelieveable!! not cleaned the toilet was in bits and the bath/shower was full of scale although they did squirt some bathroom cleaner around it for good measure!! The entire floor we were staying on was litterally a building site as they were decorating/building more rooms, the location of the hotel was something akin to downtown beiruit in a run down area!! All i can say is we would not stay in this hotel again ever!! " (108021663)

    I did not spend more than 2 hours in the hotel however I booked it for 5 days.The room was not the same as it was offered through internet.

    excellent room, most staff fine.

    receptionist not very welcoming also advised i couldnt borrow cork screw opener for wine, but when i took it to the bar it was oepned for me, which is good as there were bottle opener in the room but i dont drink beer!

    "This is probaby one to avoid. It's miles away from the underground and even further from any points of interest. The pub is hidden in the middle of a less-than-favourable area (the cops were there when we arrived, and showed up in the area again later that night) and is more a side-room bar filled with unfriendly locals than the charming tavern it claims to be. The rooms met the bar minimum, but the sheets were somewhat torn, most channels on the TV had poor reception and the showerhead was completely useless. The only thing I can truly say about this place is that the price is right - but even that can be matched by a decent B&B closer to the underground and in less of a sketchy area. All in all, book this place if you can't find anything else in your price range, but otherwise stay away!" (97525467)

    There was a lot of work going on due to extension being built and there was no running water in the room due to this

    a roof over our heads

    - dirty, intense drilling next door, room badly painted, toilet broken, shower disgusting, plaster falling off walls, walls really thin, one dirty towel on bed, no mirror in room, room not ready when arrived sat waitin for it to be cleaned, not comfortable, noisy and dirty. too many ppl sharin one bathroom.

    "It has been a disaster! First of all, this hotel is located in a very bad/rough area. Secondly, IT IS NOT 10 Minutes walk from the tube station as advertised Thirdly, the 'B&B' is located on top of the bar, therefore it stinks of buzz and sigarets smoke Forthly, it is not very clean, it has not been renovated for ages Finally, it is very dangerous to stay there, as the doors to the 'B&B' are open and anyone from the bar could get in. As you can imagine, the bar visitors are not from A and B category. DO NOT STAY THERE! If you are trying to save up, go to the hostel in the city centre. Ladies, what ever you do, do not go there! It is very dangerous to stay in that area!" (108044054)

    No door on shower cubicle so had to kneel in the bath.

    the picture looked ok for a cheap hotel. when we arrived it was in the middle of an estate with drug addicts and prostitutes living there. it was a disgrace.

    "The hotel is quite good value for the money. It has a bar downstairs with pool table. It is great connections with the bus and tube, the bus stop being right outside the hotel. The rooms are clean and safe for your belongings.Pleasant and friendly staff. Lovely warm rooms." (99349093)

    Cost effective in London, perfect location and clean room, very friendly people, TV, Fridge, microwave and kettle in room.
