    "It was a good stay. We loved the location and the kindness of staff. I am a VERY experienced traveller for many years (due to my work) and feel that this stay was either overprised for what it offered or there was an issue with the room. We will definitely come back again, hoping that this time we'll stay in a better room." (108825052)

    "Our stay was overall excellent, however during it there was a wedding taking place and on this day/evening the service was not as good.     Decor good

    Booking consideration poor. Specifically requested a room with a view, were booked in a room in the basement with a wall 4 feet from the window and the overflowing gutter drowned out the televsion. Requested a change of room and was given a roon with a pleasant view. Why could this not have happened before I complained. The bed linen had holes in it big enopugh to put your fist through. Receptionist unable to accept payment by cash and had to wait approx 10/15 bminutes until a senior member of staff arrived. She was over run with guests bookibg out and phone calls.

    This hotel has improved very much over the past 4 months. I hope they keep up the effort put in by the staff. Now a very good hotel in an excellent position.

    Very well appointed hotel conveniently close to the wedding venue. Excellent free car parking at hotel. Very obliging and well trained staff. Excellent value for money booked on the Internet.

    Pleasant ambience. Still in the final stages of redecoration but that was remote from our accommodation. Bathroom and bedroom facilities were good. Generally helpful and pleasant staff, but with exceptions.

    A somewhat small room, adequate but not spacious. I consider the bar and restaurant prices to be expensive. I ordered a wake-up call for 7am but it didn't happen! It was fortunate that I awoke by 7.15am. I consider that the staff could have knocked on the door if their automated phone system was unserviceable - I received no meaningful apology for this lapse in service.

    Good surroundings, breakfast was spot on and very good quality.

    Floors in own room creaked when moving around and the floor the othe room above was painfully noisy when anyone moved in that room.

    Very comfortable bed. Room upgrade awarded to us. Very cosy and relaxing bar.

    Breakfast staff were a little grumpy. We were unbable to check-in during the morning. Bar drinks expensive.

    Check In Staff were excellent albeit that there was no trace of the booking at reception - they did endeavor to assist and wre extremeley helpful....front of house presentation was excellent and decor tasteful.

    No trace of booking - no hot water in room although written apology received , breakfast service left room for improvement.

    Quiet, good location for Twickenham venue.

    Difficult to find from London. Staff on night duty serving in bar obviously unhappy in his job, not welcoming when ordering drinks.

    "We got a discount on our bill because of the noise. Staff should think and plan room allocation when booking. People at the party would not have been bothered about the noise at night so maybe they should have been given the rooms on the ground floor." (97296122)

    The room was clean and the staff were polite.

    When we arrived at the hotel the corridors were full of dirty towels etc and we nearly fell over a mop and bucket in the middle of the hall. There was a lot of noise going on late, there was a party until 12 and then after staff moved tables in the breakfast room.

    Basically everything was fine. The air-conditioning was a bit noisy but this wasn't a problem. Large well-equipped bathroom. Nice breakfast in very pleasant room. Excellent location, albeit at the top of a significant hill.

    Re moved-to hotel: Comfortable and clean. Good service.

    Being told at reception that they had no rooms for us and were being moved to another hotel. Now have no idea whether we have been charged for 2 rooms instead of 1.

    really good full english breakfast, good location right opposite the park and it was really nice to have a room with decent light bulbs, low emmission bulbs might be good for the enviroment but not so good for reading or putting in contact lenses

    double glazed windows in the bedrooms would have been quieter but that is really nitpicking

    General air of a well run hotel, very clean and tidy with staff keen to help. The rooms were spotless and quiet. Location very good with adequate car parking.

    "Generally I am very happy that I chose this hotel. The location is beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful. The food was not as enjoyable as the surroundings would lead one to expect but I hadn't chosen the hotel for dining in particular. Apart from the points made above - telephone not working and small size of my single room - the room was comfortable and clean. The lack of a lift should be noted by anyone with mobility problems.     Extremely polite and helpful staff; more so than anywhere I have stayed in the past year.

    Very small room - nowhere to place breakfast tray! Phone service not working, so I couldn't ring for someone to come and collect my suitcase - and the hotel has no lift.
