    Absolutely fantastic...especially for the price. The front desk clerk, Jonathon, was outstanding. Top notch customer service. We WILL be back again. Loved everything about the stay.

    ery dissapointed after last stay, room was full of cobwebs had to wait 50 minutes for breakfast when there was only 11 guests in dining room cream tea took so long tea came at 1.45 food came at 2.20 when tea was cold scones were hard and only half a strawberry each to much to put on this space I am Mrs hobbs we just used mrs Longs card for booking as she had hers available.

    The Staff, (reception and bar) were very helpful and friendly, the food was well presented and tasty, the tables and place setting very good.

    Poor and unprofessional decorating throughout, soiled carpets, light bulbs missing, floor tiling and shower tray had ingrained stains, plumbing noisy. Window had been boarded over (broken pane) to summarise if the cleaning was carried out more thoroughly, it would have made the experience better but still not right.

    bedding was disgusting and had to be changed, found 2 safety pins which were open in the new bedding, bulb over bathroom mirror not working, bulbs over bed not working, bar was always unattended and had to walk to reception to ask for drinks, all in all the hotel was in a very poor state, even lift was out of service.

    "A reasonable hotel let down by poor maintenance. Only one of the three lights in my room worked; the door leading to the room was by the bin store, which stank; the window frames in the room were rotten; it was impossible to turn the radiator off because the valve was broken - and so on.     Staff friendly and meals very good. Clean towels each day we stayed there (only 2 nights). Room cosy and a very comfy bed.

    We were in an apex room where you could only stand up straight in the middle of room. Although the bathroom was huge, you couldn't stand up in the bath to wash. We were also above the kitchen which had a large extractor hood which blew cooking smells straight up which made the room and our clothes smell of cooking.

    "Generally the hotel was very nice although some of the points on the website exagerate somewhat. I would not stay there if paying their standard room tariff of £110 however I did feel that £45 was reasonable. This point is relevant as the next question asks me if I would stay here again."     The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful.

    All the bedrooms were extremely hot, all three rooms in our party had to prop the windows open constantly.

    no booking confirmtion at hotel. offered one "family" room for four adults, consisitng of two single beds and one set of bunk beds, when original booking requested was for two twin rooms. even though i had confirmation of booking, this was not excepted by reception staff. finally given two rooms, however heating failed in first room offered, bed cover was stained and dirty, had to be replaced and the covers offered on bunk beds was used. room door jammed and failed to open, assistance required from reception staff to unlock door. on the morning of departure, payment was not clear, original cost of £103 was altered to £115, and not made clear until later in the day via a telephone call. this situation had to be clarified by myself upon returning home.

    Staff were truly excellent. Despite many many problems throughout our stay, each and every one of the staff were helpful and did all they could to put things right.

    Initial room given was definitely not a £75 a night room. We were moved to a much better room, but then thought there was no hot water as the hot comes from the cold taps. Then there really was no hot water available Saturday night as the boiler had gone out. Saturday's meal was the most disappointing aspect of the stay. The food itself was very good, but there was a large and very noisy function in the main dining area, meaning that we and another couple were seated in what quickly became something of a corridor between the kitchen and function room. This combined with a loud disco throughout our meal, which went on until midnight, followed by another hour of noise right underneath our room was not acceptable. If we had been informed there was a function on we would never have booked the room, and we certainly wouldn't have booked to have a meal at the hotel.

    We would like to say how fantastic Judy the Manager is there - we have stayed before and she is a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating - worth her weight in gold. Also we would like to say how lovely Jill the waitress at breakfast was, a lovely lady and great at her job.

    Our initial room was quite poor, pokey, dark with a pokey bathroom without anywhere to hang the shower head and the bed needs throwing out. However Judy moved us as soon as she possibly could to a much better room so we were happy.

    very polite helpful and friendly staff the room we stayed in had a loively view of the river and very large and spacious

    food not to a high enough standard rice in risotto was hard and stiry fry duck almost burnt not much choice from menu squeeky floorboards the room my mother and father stayed in was close to road so noisy in the morning and has a very odd layout

    The setting was beautiful, the rooms very quaint. Immediate walking distance to stores/restaurants. The customer service was some of the best I've experienced. The staff is what makes the hotel experience.

    Bed was very uncomfortable - you could feel the springs. Walls very thin.

    Service at breakfast was prompt.

    Given a cold, damp room in lodge building - radiator didn't work, excessive dust on surfaces, gap in door leading directly to outside. No coathangers in wardrobe. Worst room we have ever been given in a hotel.
