    Very attractive and comfortable hotel in a lovely setting.

    No dinners were being served on the night of our stay and the breakfast was average.

    Nice staff. Nice furnishings. Lots of local produce. Good food & drink options

    Walls were dirty. Some of the furniture was broken. Kettle did not work. Bed was very very hard. Some of the breakfast food was rancid.

    Beautiful grounds and service-oriented staff.

    Not really fair to say this, but my room stank of damp. The staff quicly realised it was because a previous guest had disabled to extractor fan in the bathroom, but they did fix it and did offer to move me to a bigger room. I guess it is a good point as they really responded promptly to my concern. I just think a cleaner could have spotted it before I arrived.

    Terrific approach to hotel and setting in the small town of Wem; breakfast - and the room it's served in - was good. Quality in general of hotel was very good.

    I was a single staying in the so called 'cosy double' but with solid bottom board on bed, at 5'11" I still had to sleep across the bed - it was too short for me. And room far too small for two people. And the view from my bedroom out into the back yard appeared more like a bomb site. Can do better.

    The hotel was clean and in a nice setting,breakfast was good and sevice was very good.overall a pleasant stay.I would return to the same hotel.

    Very good service and food. Friendly helpfull staff.

    Room was very cold on arrival also the part of the hotel where the room was situated (corridors etc.) also felt very cold.

    The building is beautiful both inside and out. It was quiet (except for the floorboards!) and the room was comfortable and warm.

    The only bad thing was that the restaurant was closed when we arrived - just after 9 on a Friday evening - particularly annoying given that we'd chosen this hotel so we could eat without venturing far.

    Excelent grounds and very peacefull

    over egzagerated price of drinks, we did not have a meal at the hotel but did come down for only one breakfast, thankfully! we were not impresed with the cooking of the full english.

    Pleasant staff, lovely building, very good breakfast and evening meal. No noise at night to disturb sleep - slept very well. Hotel and room basically as described.

    Described view of gardens from room was actually overlooking car park under construction. Overnight lockiing of front door slightly intimidating, although night porter present. (This matters for early rising smokers!). No prices on guest dinner menu.

    Description of facilities was spot on staff excellent really welcoming and helpful Restaurant and Bar very comfortable and relaxed food quality excellent Albeit to book online makes it so easy and hotel followed up asking if we wanted a meal at night which was a nice gesture and proved an excellent choice

    Room (this was our choice and so no one to blame but ourselves) comfy Double was just that and unfortunately the excellent hot weather meant too warm through the night. Certain a normal double would have been more comfortable. Faciliies within the room were 1st Class

    very clean/tidy. no hassle booking in/checking out. extra services ie. free dvd's, free wireless etc, only had breakfast but food quality very good. room rate very good.

    nothing - i would stay agin no problem if i had to be in that area

    A very high standard - everthing worked well.

    Nothing. The confirmation on the web site was not too clear in defining exactly what I had booked, and the e-mailconfirmation was similarly confusing. In the end I rang the hotel to check.

    "The hotel was traditionally furnished and very comfortable. We were made welcome and check in was speedy. Before booking, I had read the reviews on the site all of which commented on the excellent food. Whilst the food at dinner was good, (though the choice on the table d'hote menu was limited), breakfast was another story. On our first night, we seemed to be one of two couples staying. Breakfast was available until 9-30 so we went in at about 9.15. Our cooked breakfast seemed to have been cooked when service began at 7-30 and kept hot - consequently the bacon & sausage was dried up and impossible to cut(though the egg was fresh). The second day we fared better as there were more people in the hotel. Croissants were only available on request and two tiny pats of butter arrived with several pieces of toast. We were not offered more toast or tea/coffee. There were only enough bowls/glasses on the buffet for the number of guests and as we were last in, we had to choose either cereal or fruit. The waitress served us (pleasantly)then disappeared so it was not easy to ask for anything else. These are admittedly trivial things which did not detract from our stay but they gave teh impression of penny-pinching and could have been easily avoided at minimal cost to the hotel. Similarly it would have been good to have had the option of eating later in the evening or breakfasting after 9-30 on a Saturday. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and would go back." (97134306)

    Almost everything was perfect about this stay, as it was the last time I stayed here.

    En-suite was a bit musty.

    I was greeted very warmly and offered refreshments which were then brought up to my room. The service was very good and if asked about hotels in this area I would recommend this one. The food was very good.

    Rural, clean and tidy .Excellent staff. Great food.

    The shower was very poor and didnt work properly. A basic requirement for a room. No Alternative room to use was offered.
