    Excellent location. Very good food, except for the point below. Facilities were good, although some mould in the shower needed attention.

    Hotel not informed of internet booking, but accommodated me superbly. Meals do not always cater for guest's individual likes, such as balsamic vinegar already on the salad instead of separate and gravy on the plate instead of separate.

    Although clean, felt double room was quite small probably enhanced by the sloping roof/dormer windows Access to main facilities from bedrooms neccessitated a trip outside down stairs with no protection from the elements

    the last two times the beds have been so uncomfortable, rhe first time a spring was sticking through the matress, the most recent time we asked for a double and we think we were given a threequarter bed by mistake,

    Some staff very friendly though not all, (we nicknamed one of them Mister Grumpy as he never smiled and wasn't friendly). Nice laid-back atmosphere. Lovely location. Food absolutely excellent at breakfast and dinner.

    Room basic and functional although comfortable and reasonably spacious, certainly not luxurious. No phones in rooms.

    "Generally very good although having to go back and forth to the restaurant and bar via the outside stairs in the pouring rain was not pleasant" (97214748)

    The room was really lovely and the breakfast was really excellent

    No telephone, hairdryer or proper soap in the room/bathroom only the squeezy bottles of liquid, very difficult when you have arthritic hands. Food was over priced in comparison to other establishments

    "For a short stay, this hotel is fine. Staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. The surrounding location is beautiful and is the major plus point for the hotel. We thought the evening dinner menu to be rather limited and a little expensive." (97315228)

    The room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable.

    There was a sense of dampness about the hotel. Also, sound insulation between rooms was not good.

    "It was a special wedding anniversary long weekend celebration. Our first visit to the Isle of Man. Our room was the bridal suite (we had booked a suite - didn't know it would be the bridal suite). It is spacious with well appointed furnishings. It is warm with lovely views up the Glen. The setting in Glen Helen is stunning. The staff are very professional and helpful. Nothing was a fuss for them and they were able to offer good advice when we asked." (97816682)

    "The hotel overall was adequate for our needs as the bulk of our time was spent with relatives. Point to note-car parking-this was dependent on how many people were visiting the restaurants/function eg weddding. Arriving back in the eveening it was sometimes difficult to find parking-there should be some parking allocated for those staying at the hotel." (97673833)

    The staff-very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good. Excellent location by Glen Helen-beautiful area and walks.

    Room decor rather dated and lighting in bedroom and bathroom not very good. Mould on tiles around bath.

    "We found the staff very friendly and obliging.They were prepared to change menues to accommodate to us eg we had a sandwich for lunch on Sunday when on the Island they normally only serve roasts.     "An excellent place to stay. Beautiful surroundings, guests have to do the walk by the hotel stunning!! Staff were exceedingly friendly and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. The food is superb as is the wine and both reasonably priced. Excellent parking and in easy reach of all parts of the island. Fab stay." (99774688)

    Good value for money, excellent food and service. Very honest staff handed in a lost Rolex watch left in the room!!

    Other guests sometimes forgot that the front door slammed loudly, our room was next to this door

    The location,room,staff,service and food was all of a very high standard and being a solo traveller I felt very comfortable

    The only thing really is that you need to go outside from your room to get to dinning/bar areas this could be a concern in inclement wheather conditions, and the lack of a reception area.

    As it was Autumn it was chilly at night but when neccesary the heating was switched on without request. The room was cleaned to a very good standard and the staff were both friendly and efficient.

    no public seating area for the bar, it would require the loss of a restaurant table but a settee and coffee table adjacent to the bar would enable guests who have finished their meal or those who just wish to have a drink and relax to do so.

    "All in all a good hotel which could be made better by using a cleaner with an eye for small detail i.e. cleanliness! We ate in the restaurant most evenings but at 11.00 p.m. it was last orders at the bar and we had to leave at 11.30! There is nowhere else to sit and chat after that time. It would be good to see a menu for breakfast as the waitress had to repeat the contents of a full english to each new visitor. Things were available that we were unaware of eg kippers, croisants etc The staff are helpful and polite. We enjoyed our stay and would return." (3304276493)

    The room was adequate, the bed comfortable and the bathroom a fair size. The restaurant was modern and spacious. The food was great, well presented with a good variety. The breakfast had no menu so it was difficult to order but what was served was good. The location was super. Large car park.

    We arrived in our room to find no remote control to operate the t.v., a hair on a pillow and the sanitary bin full and unemptied, yuch...! The shower was impossible to use although the bath was fine. The mirrors were all dirty. The last day our towels were a dirty grey colour. The carpets in the hotel were dirty and not hoovered and the bin in the entrance was full, overflowing and smelly for days. The restaurant had dust bunnies flying around. No toilet roll in the toilets one day.

    "We had a very pleasant stay and the free upgrade to the honeymoon suite was a nice touch. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant food was well prepared and varied. The location of the hotel is in a very beautful part of the island but there is nothing close to the hotel. I also noticed that the standard of cleanliness both in the hotel and in the rooms was below the expected standard and waste bins remained full and unemptied for at least 4 days." (3304829041)

    The Hotel is quaint and the honeymoon suite was very comfortable. The food was good and staff helpful. Location is very picturesque.

    The hotel was generally not very clean and not close to other amenities.

    Comfortable and rural.

    Having to descend outside stairs (it was pouring with rain) to get from the accommodation to the bar/restaurant. Gravel car park - I was on a motorcycle.

    "The Inn is situated on the A3 and is very easy to find, it sits at the head of Glen Helen in an idyllic position surrounded by trees one of which was actually planted by the famous woman aviator Amy Johnson.The glen itself provides a beautiful and relaxing walk alongside the river which flows through the glen.The whole Island is easily accessable from this point. The Inn has an excellent restaurant with the menu prviding a wide and varied choice of food. To summarise, my partner and I thought it was wonderful." (3305020390)

    The Inn's idyllic surroundings, the cleanliness and the warm and friendly attitude of the staff mean that we shall be returning at some stage for a longer stay.

    "I think you need to give more information on your actual position in relation to people who may not be coming by car and need to use public transport which is a 2.5 mile walk to the nearest bus stop.     Quality of staff care and attention

    The bed was awful but was changed for us. The room and bathroom each needed and extra table, and two chairs would have been nice. The furnishing appeared to have been done by someone who was a bit 'tight' :-)

    "The location was beautiful. There was plenty of room to park Our stay was cut short by a family crisis and the staff at the hotel were absolutely marvellous in helping us to sort out getting home. The accommodation was separate to the eating area. You have to go outside and back in to get to the dining area. There were a lot of steps outside and inside but staff helped with suitcases."     It was clean and modern. There was adequate storage and it felt cosy. The food was excellent.

    The only thing we found difficult was that the low dormer ceilings were a bit of a hazzard

    "Only stayed one night, but the hotel was welcoming and perfectly adequate. Evening meal was disappointing, tired salad & lack of fresh ingredients - tinned peas! However there is another very good restaurant next door! Location was great for us (beautiful walks, etc.)but another couple with a young family had no car - public transport in this part of the island is not frequent and taxis are very expensive.     "Would have liked to have known the exact layout of the rooms so we could have made an informed choice ( i.e we would have preferred an ensuite bathroom , and not just a shower, plus we would have chosen a room away from the entrance if we'd known it was going to be so noisy.     Room too close to a very noisy entrance: adequate although basic furnishings. Heated towel rail would be nice, plus king size duvets on the double beds
