    "Would stay again if in A different room and the shower was different" (108923791)

    Was A comfortable stay.

    Room was to small did not have any room to move about. Think it is not A very good system as it was very difficult to get in and out of the bath were the shower was situated.

    Caring staff. Clean Rooms and surrounding areas. Very good food.

    "A pleasant overnioght stay in a quiet country hotel" (97452531)

    Despite its description. this hotel has a large free car park. Room had recently been modernised. BAr meal excellent value for money.

    Bathroom was a bit small but perfectly adequate.

    "We were originally put in a different room to what we thought we had booked, but once we mentioned it to the reception they moved us to a different room, which was excellent. The staff were always helpful. The Farmers Bar served an excellent carvery on the Friday night which was very good value for money." (99497120)

    The Hotel was very relaxing ad the staff were very friendly.

    "Suggest more emphasis should be made to identify room size, more detail on the room amenities & suitability of rooms for the the various types of customers using the hotel." (99801371)

    Staff were very helpfull & accomodating.

    The main issues with the stay was the general room room size & amenities in the room. The initial room offered in the west wing was small & with no wardrobe facilities for clothes. We were offered an alternative room which was also small, the ensuite was also very small with unsatisfactory access to the shower & toilet. My wife & I also found the room to be very cold.

    Clean, tidy room with a comfortable beds.

    Very noisey radiators / pipes which woke me several times in the night!

    "We really enjoyed our stay in the peace and quiet of such a lovely building and grounds.The staff were excellent, the food was delicious and the bed comfy.This hotel is a jewel that needs some sympathetic TLC to make it bright and shiny once more. We would love to stay again should we be vising that area." (99700687)

    To be able to stay in a place of English history

    It is such a shame that there are such tired shabby fixtures fittings and furnishings.

    the setting,excellent food,peace and tranquility.

    roomcould have been a bit bigger, also extractor fan could be heard 75% of stay...

    Comfortable and clean

    Need to walk past kitchens to get to the room.Hot water to the room was poor on the first night. Position of the kettle in the room was precarious and could have fallen off dressing table due to its position on the edge. Length of cable made it impossible to relocate.

    The restaurant

    The room (I think it was called Edward) was very cold. The radiators were lukewarm and I had to borrow a heater from reception. The WiFi signal dropped every 10 minutes or so which is frustrating when you are trying to work.

    Executive room was well equipped

    The heating and hot water system failed and as a result we were unable to bathe shower etc... The hotel offered all guests a free stay on next visit which was OK for us and we accepted.

    "Wonderful authentic 12th century castle, very warm vibe, 4-poster bed and thick curtains, superb staff (efficient and friendly) - lovely grounds, great food/beer, etc. overall impression of a facility which puts customer satisfaction first & where pride of service matters." (99243414)

    "Modern rooms with basic features such tea/coffee & hairdryer. Parking available directly outside our room. Friendly helpful receptionist and bar staff in general. Food in bar is excellent value but portions are oversized (honest)" (99537371)

    the setting of the hotel is superb and conveniently close to the A1M

    the interior and standard of the rooms is a let down - only adequate - basic and clean. What a shame!

    "We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. the only problem we had was the bed and the room itself.The food was very good value,well cooked and well presented" (3304579843)

    The location, the castle and grounds were stunning.

    The bed was most uncomfortable with broken springs. Cobwebs added to the atmosphere of ancient times.The duvet was dirty.
