    Excellent location, large room, only booked a single but got a twin. Plenty of hot water. Everything seemed clean, if a little worn.

    Very hard mattress and pillow. Lack of ventilation, could only open one window a tiny bit. Noise from The Strand in front room. Rooms could do with redecorating.

    I stayed in the location in January of 2009 and liked the location and the hotel itself.

    check in was terrible I asked if should could the cost of breakfast to the room and was told NO she for some reason not get approval of on my credit card I check with card company on my return and there was no reason for card to be rejected I travel with a backpack and it seemed that the check in young lady checking me in, did not appprove. I had the feeling that she would have prefered not to checked me in.

    "The room was clean, big enough and gave good value for the money. Good location.. On other hand: the street (Strand) was rather noisy: my friends didn't sleep much because of it. (They were from country side; I'm living in bigger city, and was not bothered at all.) All the extra charges were kind of bulling instead of giving service." (108129499)

    Nice modern clean rooms, firm bed, clean bathroom and enough hot water. Good location near theatres, Thames and Covent Garden.

    Breakfast was expensive, and so was the luggage store charge (It was 2£/bag). Actually the luggage store (before check-in/ after check-out) should be free, as well as the wlan.

    Poor room layout - bed against wall on two sides. Hole in bottom sheet. Breakfast too expensive.

    very well located, nice christmas feel, quick check out with helpful staff.

    breakfast cost £15 pp yet it was cold, as they had run out of plates and we had to wait for eggs, very expensive considering we could have paid for the lesser priced breakfast and still helped ourselves to the cooked one, also stressed staff at breakfast with head waiter shouting 'oi oi' to a waitress across the room seemed unprofessional for a 'good class' hotel

    "Don't book a 'Club' single room thinking that by paying extra you will recieve a nicer room - bath robe, use of gym etc, it never happened and the room was ridiculously small for a 3 night stay." (108786234)

    Clean and tidy room. Pleasant decor.

    Paid extra money for a 'Club Room'expecting a bit of luxury - the room was the size of a shoe box with a bath that was equally as tiny. Nobody on Club desk for check in, no bath robe offered, no information on use of Virgin Active Gym, no one even mentioned it. Overall you should not use a room of that size for the equivalent of an executive room, and be charged extra for it

    Excellent location, food & bar service of high standard.

    Was offered upgrade on arrival but disappointed to find basically this was flat screen tv, fresher decor, and sports facility. Upgrade room size disapointing. This was reverted to original booking but took some time to do so.

    Light, airy, modern reception areas - friendly & helpful staff.

    The room was extremely small, with not much space to sit and relax without lying on the bed. The bed covers were too narrow, and everytime I turned over, the cover rolled with me, leaving areas exposed!

    "Reasonably good. Location and standard of hotel was good, and provided the limited level of accommodation I was looking for." (108848226)

    Rapid check in prior to 12pm, which was surprising. I was expecting to have to leave my baggage at the hotel then come back to check in later.

    Breakfast not included in price of stay, which at £95 was quite expensive.

    excellant location as going to theatre and wanting to visit covent garden etc , very good value for money, quick check in with very professional, polite staff

    As my stay was during the heatwave the rooms were very hot we did have a fan but ideally a larger stand up fan would of been more beneficial and we could not open the windows so the room was rather uncomfortable, otherwise the room was of good standard, clean and good decor .

    Very poor TV in room-impossible to change channels easily and no Sky Sport. A modest breakfast was much too expensive

    "Only stayed one night on this occasion and did not realise there was so much to see and do in the vicinity. I will be booking again - for longer." (107845018)

    Excellent location for the West End. Staff very helpful and polite. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable.

    In spite of booking a "Club Room" it was not air conditioned which meant that we had to leave the window open resulting in a noisier night than I would have liked. (Granted it was a very warm night)

    "I'm surprised that you could hear guests in neighbouring rooms so clearly in a hotel of this age, however I guess that was due to the partitioning that was added later to create many more (much smaller) rooms. Also, opening the window let the London noise flood in (but you can't blame the hotel for that!). The "Hopps" bar is very well priced and - unusually for a hotel - one I'd recommend." (107722808)
