    Hotel location was very convenient. Location was quiet. Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent.

    A couple of very minor points - (a) it would be a nice touch to have biscuits with the tea making supplies. For the price of the room, there was only minimal bathroom supplies - a small bar of soap and a small bottle of shower gel.

    The design of the building, attractive room, bar and restaurant. Excellent dinner.

    It was a little cold. However, I mentioned this on check-out and the proprieter did say that I should have mentioned it and he would have sorted it out. So, my fault.

    Comfortable room - well decorated. Family run establishment providing a very friendly welcome.

    "We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, the Walnut tree was exactly what we were looking for, it was set in a rustic rural village which is so picturesque. The room was wonderful, we had a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was fantastic, what ever you needed the staff and owners were happy to help. the breakfast in the morning was lovely and it was nice to see it being run by a lovely family, in the morning when we went to pay, we were asking all sorts of question about the village because we thought it was so lovely and she (the owner) gave us a little run down of the village which we thought was lovely.     Good food - room quite comfortable

    External access to each room we booked - totally unsuitable for my mother in her 80s. No one there on arrival - but phone connection. One room cold on arrival - but Ok when radiator put on, but I had to swop with my mother.

    A charming & very comfortable room (#10) The four-poster bed was a fun surprise. The staff without exeception was very helpful & friendly. In the fine dining room the menu, for so small an hotel, was very good indeed. We shall return

    Dislike? Nothing that we can think of. The room was comfortably lighted, but could have done with a stronger light source to facilitate the application of make-up and to read. The bathroom mirror was set so high that my averge-sized wife was unable to use it. We shall return

Just up the road from the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yoevilton. The award winning Restuarant was expensive - but seemed very popular!     Hotel is extension to traditional village pub. Well presented, clean and tidy.

    Limited car park spaces available. Room a little small.

    "The restaurant is of a very high standard and is a successful separate business activity in its own right. It would be an excellent place to take a lady for dinner. It is also rather expensive. I do not feel the hotel have adjusted their restaurant to the needs of business travellers in the hotel. A meal for two with wine at " (3305169936)

    Very clean, bathroom immaculate and everything worked. The bar really was a working bar and a good place to go for a drink. Staff were all very helpful without being intrusive.

    My room was on the ground floor with the entrance being the windows. Made it difficult to have privacy in the evening, and it got quite cold one night, even in August.

    The room was very well presented and unique. Not like the usual chain of hotel.

    I thought given the luxury bathroom that bath sheets rather than a small bath towel would have been a good bit of attention to detail.

    "The room and staff were excellent, everything you could wish for. The hotel, as has many others of late we are sure, found it difficult to judge staff requirements during the World Cup period. For instance during one Engalnd match the dining room was virtually empty, during the next game it was full. This did cause problems at times when serving meals correctly and within reasonable time. However, the owners did everything in their power to make up for any shortcomings. Only little gripe, could they please put coathooks on the back of bathroom doors!! A simple and inexpensive addition that would be so welcome." (3304868890)

    Lovely room with a 4 poster bed. Friendly efficient service by all staff. Good food and excellent restaurant. Nice village location close to the main road but far enough away not to hear any traffic noise.

    Room was a bit chilly on arrival but a heater was provided in the room which took the chill off until the central heating came on.
