    "Excellent and easy to find" (107155195)

    gorgeous house and locaton with delightful garden and pond with lovely place to relax outside. our hosts were so attentive and the bedrooms and sitting area and dining sublime. The dinner was first class , what more can we say,we felt like friends rather than guests.

    A little on the expensive side but it was first class!!

    "Excellent accommodation in a lovely location. We were given a warm welcome and despite the late hour, arrangements were made for us to get a meal nearby. The house was comfortable and furnished to an exceptionally high standard, making it far from a typical B&B and well deserving its star rating." (107382961)

    I/we havn't got enough time or space to list all the good points of Willowbeck Lodge and John & Liz's hospitality. Sufice to say its the best B&B accommodation (with an absolutely fantastic evening meal option) that we have ever stayed in. On a Spinal Tap scale of 1-10 we give it 11

    We couldnt get to stay another night, on this occaision.

    Lovely modern room and ensuite - food was excellent. The B&B is quiet as it sits in a treed area, well back from the road. B&B owners were very friendly and helpful.

    Beautiful serene location and yet close to M6 motorway. Design and decoration is superb. Mr & Mrs McGillis are very welcoming and personable hosts.

    Slight disadvantage was the sloping ceiling at the front of the bedroom. Slight concern from a safety viewpoint about long hanging willow branches across the driveway , especially with oncoming vehicles in the driveway

    "a lovely house with a lot of character for a new build, floor to roof glass way in the lounge/dining area with a lovely view of the garden. But the thing that stays in the mind the most is the wonderful friendly service, nothing was too much trouble and i felt as if i must have been there before! i even had my clothes ironed for me. food was wonderful and made me realise how awful those kept warm breakfasts are in hotels, i wish it was in my sales area i would stay everytime, i cannot praise this place enough," (97171097)

    good clean room, nice modern building. room was very nice with dressing room and excellent bathroom. breakfast was excellent. Very friendly.

    Main reason we would not stay again was that the bed was far too soft and we couldnt sleep on such a soft mattres. The room would be better with two firm mattresses on a king or superking base. We left with aching backs which was a shame.

    "Having booked on line with active we then received a phone call and email from the hotel, the personal touch. They rang to give us directions and we were greeted at the door. The purpose of our stay was a break away from the children and we were given space to enjoy peace and relaxation as well as a friendly welcoming approach. The hotel was equipped for any type of stay: business or pleasure, except for accomodating young children, which was fine. We stayed there for our evening meal which was outstanding. Beautifully cooked, very well presented and worthy of any michelin star! We will definately return. It was perfectly situated to visit the Lakes, North Yorkshire or even Northumberland. A retreat offering excellence, tranquility and outstanding hospitality. Thank you to the the owners." (99497173)

    The suite we had was bright, well equipped and very comfortable. The welcome we recieved was warm and friendly and the opportunity to use all the facilities made our weekend extremely enjoyable. they were perfect hosts and it felt like we were visiting friends rather than a hotel.

    "The owners are a great couple that put themselves out ensure that your stay at the lodge is as good as it can be. The food is fantastic home made with fresh produce cooked to perferction.The rooms and their fittings are of the highest order and all in all a great place to stay. From the moment you arrive to when you leave everything happens at the pace you want, booking in is easy over a drink and small cakes, when you return from a day out you are greeted back to the lodge and you can relax doing what you want. There is no pressure and I would recommend it to anybody. Try the evening meals they are as good as the breakfasts and the scottish pancakes are very filling." (99135864)

    "It is impossible not to be charmed by the owners who make you feel relaxed and welcome. Willowbeck Lodge has the look and feel of a luxurious family home and the atmosphere is such that you are made to feel like a friend/relative stopping over for a few days. Nothing is too much trouble. The place was spotlessly clean and all the meals were varied and of the highest quality. We hope to return." (99777714)

    "Its position, a few minutes from the M6, makes it an ideal stopover or a base for the Lakes, Scottish Borders or Hadrian's Wall. Noise from the motorway isn't a problem. The building is well insulated. The hosts were very friendly and most welcoming, they make your visit special. Everwhere is spotless.The rooms are furnished to a very high standard, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of towels. There was even fresh flowers and chocolates in the room as well as tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits. Nothing had been skimped. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and we also had an evening meal.The food was well cooked and presented and was delicious. Can't recommend it enough." (3304404285)

    "The most relaxing stay at a hotel ever. Great hosts who make you feel like you don't want to leave. Highlight of the stay enjoying breakfast watching a woodpecker chip away at the trees.
