    "Stayed for 1 night with a friend as we were going to a Medieval night at the Castle, checked in at 1pm, shown to our rooms, which were great, could not fault. Breakfast superb." (107953585)

    Food very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Good location and generious size room.

    Bathroom poor. Musty smell that pervaded the room. Shower over bath was difficult to use and very difficult to adjust temperature.

    Excellant food & very helpful staff

    No heating in bathroom. Shower was barely adequate. Shower holder was hanging off the wall. Radiator in bedroom was hanging off the wall. Bedside light nearest door only worked sometimes. Television was past its best.

    Food was very good Fusions Bistro and also the breakfast although fairly standard was perfectly cooked. Lovely location with real traditional ale on tap.

    Toilet seat broken .TV remote non functional. Choice of programmes = 3 plenty of cheaper accomodation in the area £125 D B & B

    The full English breakfast was excellent value.

    The room local to the late night entry door could result in a disturbed sleep, but this would be down to noisy guests arriving rather than the hotel.

    Close to the Castle where I was attending the wedding. Friendly and helpful staff. Cooked breakfast was really nice. Lovely decor.

    Mattress was lumpy. Difficult to find staff at quiet times.

    food excellent, staff excellent

    Breakfast disappointing, especially so after good meal the night before. Checkout arrengements poor; had to wander around in search of staff so we could check out.

    "Breakfast room and public areas were very pleasant, bedroom was clean and tidy but a bit shabby, bathroom (bath and shower particularly) showing signs of wear, though clean. Good provision of tea/coffee, bottled water and toileteries. Fine for an overnight stay." (99514507)

    Convenient location. Good cooked breakfast.

    Noise from a motor or pump outside during the night. Shower did not work properly, either too hot or completely cold.

    "The hotel is an old and charming place to be. The staff were superb, all wearing a smile and very friendly. Don't expect a new hotel, the uneven floors and walls are in perfect keeping with a building of this age. I would of happily stayed longer if rooms were available (book early!). The cooked full english breakfast was excellent. A good choice all round." (3305253403)

    Very nice, helpful staff. Nice menu. Lovely atmosphere

    Window on to main road would neither open nor close. Toilet loose. Room very hot (in fairness it was a hot night).

    "Cafe bar and brasserie have recently been refurbished to a good standard. The bedrooms are dated although I understand that these will also be refurbished. THe hotel claimed to serve food until half past nine but we were told at half past eight that they had finished serving however, people were walking in off the street and continuing to be served."     "hotel is really nice inside compared to how it looks outside. Comfy beds, continental breakfast was great, fresh yoghurts, bread, ham and cheese wasa the best i have ever had in a hotel. The rom looked as though it had been refurbished recently and was extremely nice. good location for pubs, cafe's and countryside." (3304544613)

    room had been re-furbished and the continental breakfast was the best i have ever had in a hotel, with fresh, ham and cheeses etc

    the toilet was a bit loose and there was a bit of confusion about how to order breakfast

    "After the above experiance with the room I was looking forward on a very cold morning to a hot cooked breakfast, Only continental was available. Although on checking I found this was all that was offered. This I found surprising. I am no likely to stay there again." (3304168007)

    The evening meal

    The bedroom was dowdy with old furniture and cold athough there was a large radiator and the curtains did not closed properly.The toilet was rocking on the floor and did not seem secure. The toilet was not secured properly to the floor, the shower was fine.
